Apartment was very clean, nice and comfortable. Glad there is a designated parking space as street parking is very limited. Super close to everything good in Monterey. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great spot to visit Monterey! Everything is just about a 5-10 minute drive away. The apartment itself is nice and it worked perfect for us because we spent most of our time out and about. It would be a little tricky if you were planning to cook and eat every meal at home since there aren't that many dishes, and the one thing I would've really loved was another outlet or a power strip near the TV, but none of that changed the quality of our trip. Super easy to check in and out and was just right for a short stay for four students trying to experience as much of Monterey Bay as possible. The best surprise about the apartment was the endless hot water! After swimming in the freezing cold ocean, it was amazing that all four of us were able to come home and shower without running out of hot water. This apartment likely wouldn't be the best if you're hoping to spend most of your time inside, but overall I found it great and it was perfect for us.

Overall, our stay was good but we had a few issues with the check-in process. We didn’t receive clear instructions on how to check in and were given an incorrect code to the lockbox. When we called the host, he was very responsive and got us in right away. Unfortunately, when we entered the unit we found that it hadn’t been cleaned from the last guests. Again, the host was very responsive and the apartment was spotless when we got back from dinner about an hour and a half later. We also found that the air conditioning didn’t work but the temps in Monterey were pretty cool while we were there so we didn’t press for a repair during our stay. Also, warning to Verizon customers that the cell coverage there is terrible so we were not able to use the washing machine which required connecting to pay via a smartphone app. The WiFi in the actual apartment worked well but did not extend to the laundry room. The only other issue we had, and by no means the fault of the owner, was that the upstairs neighbors were VERY loud and their (we assume) kids stomped on the floors a lot. Other than these inconveniences, the apartment was great. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The location is also great and just a short drive to all the local attractions, shopping, etc.

The good: - Location- Clean- Good beds- Laundry available (although in a separate shared room in the apartment complex)The bad:- I don’t think the apt has Central Air even though it’s advertised. We weren’t able to get the a/c to turn on during the stay. We contacted the apt manager (different than the owner) about this, but they couldn’t send anyone to look at the issue for a couple days. Ultimately you need to open all windows to get it to cool below 75 degrees. It meant more noise from the neighborhood and airport at night in order to stay cool at night. Folks say that you don’t need A/C in Monterey, but I like to sleep in sub 75 degree weather, ideally in the high 60s. Other notes:- not too many trash bags for us to use to take care of trash. - I wanted to give it better ratings, but we haven’t heard any resolution to the Air Conditioning issue yet.
