The host was very kind, accommodating, and quick to respond. The beds were comfortable as well as the couches. The neighborhood was very nice with a paved trail in walking distance. The only negative for us was that the house could have been cleaned better.

We stayed at this property while visiting family in Indiana. We own vacation rentals ourselves and travel frequently, so we understand that no property is perfect and occasional issues happen. Unfortunately, this was one of the least comfortable vacation rental experiences we have had.The first thing we noticed was the smell. There was a strong odor throughout the property that remained during our stay and made the home feel uninviting and uncomfortable.Cleanliness was also a concern. Food had been left behind and the refrigerator had an odor. We also encountered personal belongings that made the property feel more like an occupied residence than a guest-ready rental. While searching kitchen cabinets for bowls, we opened one cabinet and found personal medications. Personal food items were also present. We are now unsure if someone was staying in the basement or notMaintenance and outdoor areas appeared neglected. During rain there was water leaking from the door area. The backyard had not been mowed in quite some time, making the outdoor space largely unusable. The hot tub also did not appear well maintained and was not something we felt comfortable using.Guest comfort was another issue. Towels and pillows were limited and overall the property was simply not comfortable.We documented many of these concerns with video. We rarely leave negative reviews and understand the work involved in owning rentals, but future guests deserve an accurate picture of the experience.

The home is professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival, so we were disappointed to hear your concerns regarding odors, items left behind, and overall cleanliness, and we are reviewing these matters with our team. We would also like to clarify that no one was living in the basement or elsewhere on the property during your stay, and there is no separate exterior entrance to the basement. We are also looking into the maintenance concerns you mentioned, including the water intrusion and outdoor upkeep.
