Bluewater Retreat, pet-friendly beachfront haven

Summary:

Just a short stroll (50m) from the calm shores of Geographe Bay, this relaxed coastal retreat is made for easy seaside living. Two light-filled living areas offer space to unwind, while the fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ area make shared meals effortless. Two bathrooms add comfort, and the large enclosed backyard gives pets and children room to play freely. With cafés, a boat ramp, and the beach all nearby, it’s an ideal base for a laid-back coastal escape.



The Space:

Set in a peaceful coastal pocket near Geographe Bay, this welcoming home blends relaxed comfort with easy family living. Two spacious living areas filled with natural light offer plenty of room to spread out, whether you’re gathering for movie nights, enjoying quiet mornings with a coffee, or unwinding after a day at the beach. Both lounges include TVs, making it easy for families and groups to relax at their own pace.



At the heart of the home, the open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and everything needed for easy holiday meals. A pod coffee machine helps start slow mornings with ease, while the adjoining dining area creates a relaxed space for shared breakfasts, long lunches, or casual dinners after a day outdoors.



Air conditioning is available in the kitchen and second lounge area only, with two portable fans provided for additional comfort during warmer months.



The bedrooms are thoughtfully arranged for flexible group stays, with each offering clothing storage for added convenience. Bedroom & bathroom configurations as follows:



Bedroom 1 (master): 1x king bed

Bedroom 3: 1x single bed + 1x trundle*

Bedroom 4: 1x single bed + 1x trundle*



*NB: TRUNDLES will be provided with linen for all bookings but will not be pulled out for groups of 6 or fewer unless requested (minimum 24 hours notice required).

The expansive enclosed backyard is designed for easy outdoor living. Fire up the BBQ for alfresco dinners, enjoy an afternoon drink in the fresh sea air, or let children and pets play safely across the generous lawn. The fully fenced yard makes the space especially well-suited to families travelling with pets.



Please note that while the bathrooms have been fully renovated, the rest of the house retains its cosy, comfortable charm.

The Neighborhood:

Busselton is the popular beach town at the gateway to the iconic Margaret River Wine Region (see final paragraph for a more detailed insight into the region). Just 2.5 hours away from Perth, and within easy driving distance from popular hotspots Dunsborough (15 minutes), Yallingup (20 minutes) and Margaret River (30 minutes), this is the perfect location to explore everything our region has to offer. The best news? You don't have to visit Margaret River township to enjoy some of the most famous and world class wine, as there are dozens of cellar doors to choose from, all the way down the Cape. The nearest cellar doors to Broadwater are just a 10 minute drive away, and include some of the more "off the beaten track" options for those wishing to explore smaller cellar doors, including Lentedal, Blind Corner and Mongrel Creek, as well as the better known Flametree. All produce fantastic wine, and provide different experiences for the oenophiles out there. Don't worry if wine isn't your bag, as Busselton is also home to two fantastic tap rooms - Rocky Ridge and Shelter Brewing Co.



Broadwater is located on the Western side of Busselton, and enjoys a quieter beach and boat ramps thanks to its suburban position. Benefit from town amenities and convenience during your stay, while enjoying a serene beach side holiday next to the calm, crystal waters of Geographe Bay. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful foreshore and famous Busselton jetty, the longest in the Southern Hemisphere!



It's not just about summer here, despite its popularity thanks to the glorious weather; all year round, even when we may be less blessed with warm days and sunny skies, visitors can enjoy hikes, biking, surfing, off-roading, horse riding, cave tours, water sports, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and generally eating and drinking one's way around the area! Visit in spring to catch the whale migration and wild flower season, or in autumn to enjoy quieter beaches and excellent surf.

The Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the world. Considered a “boutique” region, production is relatively small and quality-focused. The unique microclimates and fabulous soils here mean that producers are able to make some of the world’s best Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a host of other single varietal and blend wines; most wineries will have a good selection of options, including various sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz if the flagship varieties aren’t your cup of tea. Many of these wineries are also home to phenomenal restaurants, and your dining options will range from full tasting menus to casual pizzas or grazing boards. If you have any particular restaurant on your wish list, we strongly recommend booking ahead all year round. In peak summer season (December-February), bookings are essential and may need to be made several weeks or months in advance. Please contact us directly if you would like tailored recommendations for your self-guided winery and/or brewery tour. If you have time, we highly recommend buying a ticket onto one of the many locally operated winery and brewery tour buses, for an unforgettable day out of excellent food and drink.



Getting Around:

Busselton is very easy to get around, thanks to a network of bike and footpaths. The main path runs all the way from Dunsborough to Busselton, mostly along the beachfront - in this case, it runs right past the front of the house. The area is very flat, meaning that it is easy to get around on foot, bike or scooter if you choose. Guests will need a car to explore the surrounding area (Margaret River region) independently, but there are a number of local charter companies offering wine, brewery and various adventure/wilderness tours.

All linen is provided (excl. beach towels). All of our accommodation is fully self-catered, and as a courtesy we provide a basic starter pack for each stay, including: soap, toilet rolls, tea, coffee & sugar, basic cleaning products, and some cooking essentials (oil, salt & pepper). We provide these items to help kick-start your holiday in a stress-free way, but guests are responsible for the ongoing supply of anything they should require beyond the starter pack provided.
