Year-round Maine cottage on Barker's Pond Road. Adorable accommodations for 2 to 4 in a Maine lake setting. The cottage is in the perfect location close to everything but with a secluded feeling. Bring your paddle boards, fishing poles, and hiking boots. Excellent little cottage for Ice Fisher people! Great trails for ATVs, hiking, or biking. We provide 2 Old Town Kayaks with life jackets and paddles. The water is crystal clear and the fish are biting Summer and Winter! The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming!
Great stay! The cabin was cute and clean. We were very comfortable. The hosts were welcoming and a joy to talk to. We highly recommend and are looking forward to booking again in the future.
Nice, quaint, and quiet location. Beautiful pond and wildlife. Cottage is three floors with bedroom on the bottom floor and living room on the third floor.
Great rustic cabin to stay at on a pond, the pond is a lot bigger than we anticipated! The hosts are great, they greated us and gave us a tour of the property.
We loved our stay with the Barkerâs Pond area. We were able to see the nearby beaches including Motherâs and Pine Point, and enjoyed Lobster at Rayâs and Clam Shack. Our daughter lost an earring down a drain and the owner was kind enough to retrieve it from the sink trap. Awesome lake to kayak and wonderful campfire at night. Will be back
We had a lovely weekend stay on Barkers Pond. Pete and Penelope are gracious hosts. We appreciated the coffee cream, sparkling water and toiletries. The Pond is very peaceful and I enjoyed sitting on the patio in the morning. The cottage is very cozy; good size for a couple. Bathroom has two sinks which is nice; bathroom privacy is limited due to louvered folding doors. Nice quiet location. Thank you for hosting us.
Check-in process easy, cabin small but fit two people nicely. 3 floors in a small space, so there were always stairs to negotiate--not a problem for us, but may be for some. Comfy bed, nice bedding and pillows. Owner gave us a restaurant recommendation (Ken's) that garnered an outstanding seafood meal. Don't miss the lobster rolls!
My husband and I and my daughter and her husband really enjoy the Maine cottage. Everything was perfect. We made two breakfast at it well equipped kitchen and enjoyed it right by the window looking out to the Pond.Thank very much Penelope and Pit.
We had great access to a beautiful deck and kayaking. It was in the middle of several places we wanted to visit. The owners are very nice people. We had a really good time.
Pros: Lovely relaxing property. Two adult couples traveled together. The kitchen was well equipped and there were two distinct outside spaces for relaxation. The pond was fun for fishing, kayaking and swimming. Close to many things, but felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend.Cons: We did not take issue with anything, but just for others planning purposes, you have to drive down a long dirt road to access the property. It is not a publicly maintained road, so it was quite bumpy. We had no trouble navigating it in a truck but could be challenging with a small car. Also, the upstairs bed is a trundle bed that converts into a larger bed.
Beautiful and quiet! Itâs what Maine is all about.
The property was very comfortable and the owner was extremely timely in responding and very pleasant when we met to check in. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a little R&R!
Penelope and Pete were the most welcoming and accomodating hosts. The property was so picturesque! Swimming, kayaking and fishing all in our backyard! It was so hard to leave, we can't wait to go back!
The house was the perfect spot for us. The host was very nice and we enjoyed our stay very much. It was nice to sit on the dock with a coffee in the morning or in the evening with a glass of wine. The home was very clean and cozy.
We were looking for a low key friends weekend, a place to hang out by the fire and relax. Penny and Peteâs place was perfect! Clean and cozy, they provided all the amenities one would need (charcoal for grill, wood for fire, bottles of water, towels, etc) overall a great stay!
Pete and I are so fortunate to own this cottage next to Barker's Pond. We have lovingly prepared it for our guests to enjoy a cute cottage to call home-base while enjoying the best that Southern Maine has to offer.
This cottage is set back just steps from its own water front deck nestled in a picturesque cove. beautiful water views during the day and breathtaking starry nights make this cottage perfect for 2 to 4 people to enjoy all that Southern Maine has to offer. The cottage is a stand alone building that shares a half acre of water front access with the owners. While we are easily accessible, you will rarely see us.
2 kayaks are provided along with life jackets and paddles. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine on your own waterside deck. Fire pit and picnic area are also available to enjoy.
