VRBO listing is not accurate

The listing leads you to believe that this is a house. It is not a house, but there are 8 bedrooms total in one building, 6 that open into an enclosed courtyard type of area. Then there are 2 bedrooms upstairs that open into what they call an atrium. Those two bedrooms overlooking the atriumhave queen beds, not kings as listed. There are 4 rooms with king beds and 2 rooms with 2 double beds, and then the 2 rooms upstairs with queen beds. The rooms are dated, clean enough, but sparse. There is no inside sitting/living area. There is a kitchen that had high end appliances at one time, but the knives, cooking utensils left much to be desired. There were no potholders or dish clothes when we got there, but the property manager did provide them once requested. The table only seats 8 people, and we had 10, so we had to improvise to be able to seat our entire party. The outside cabana/pool/dock area was the saving grace to this property. It is lovely and well maintained. There are paddle boards and kayaks for use. Thankfully the weather was great so that we could spend all of our time outside because, like I said, this is not a house, so there is nowhere for a group to sit inside. The other inaccurate thing about the listing is that there is another facility on the grounds where they rent rooms to other individuals. So.....the pool, cabana, docks are shared with whoever is staying in the other building. This was not clear from the VRBO listing. There was maid service one day (we spent 4 nights) but she would not come in the kitchen. We did get clean towels and she offered to change linens for those who wanted them changed. But there were no clean beach towels, so you just had to use one towel for the entire time. The property manager was responsive to requests by text. The property worked for our group because of the good weather and the fact that the other building did not have many guests, but the listing needs to make it clear that this is NOT a house and that you have to share the common areas.

Thank you for your comments. We appreciate them and would like to clarify a few items. Our VRBO listing describes our property as having two buildings that only share the outside features. Regarding the rooms, the atrium rooms are the 6 bedrooms (4 King and 2 Doubles) that are accessed in the screened atrium, the large upstairs suites with Queen beds we call Grand Bay View rooms which face the bay. We do regret that your expectation did not match the reality of our offering. As with the pot holders and dish towels we attempted to provide an appropriate level of service and had your party desired more housekeeping services we were ready to provide it on request. Our most recent guests have preferred we give them privacy and little interaction because of the COVID19 recommendations for social distancing which we honor. Similarly, our dining table which seats 8 can be expanded to 10 for inside dining but most guests have preferred using the pavilion for alfresco dining. Thank you and best regards Michael

Great if you know what to expect!

Let me start by saying we had a fabulous time, and this property was a great fit for us. We came as a group of 7 couples. Each of us had our own rooms, which was nice, and a shared commercial kitchen to make meals. The pool, beach, dock etc were shared only with people in the neighboring house, so it felt very private. I did not understand from the listing that this isn’t a residential home, however. It opens up with an amazing atrium in the middle and hotel style rooms like each side. Each room is 2 stories, with additional beds on the top and it’s own key. Then there are 2 suites that face the water upstairs. Everything on the property is very high end, but dated. Not a concern for us, but may be for some. The host were very kind and kept mostly to themselves. I would stay again. I wish I could upload photos. Great set up.

Beat all expectations

The photos do not do it justice. The property was beautiful. We had 16 people from 4-74 and had room for everyone. Rooms were spacious and kitchen was huge with some commercial appliances so cooking was easy. Pool, spa and kiddie pool were large and clean. The grounds were amazing and made us feel like we were isolated. Very private. There is allot to do in and around Key Largo so should you want to go off property you have many activities to chose from. The owner was more than responsive and very invested in our having a wonderful time. I would recommend this resort to anyone needing a large villa. There is no age group that would not have a wonderful time. Only suggestion is to have better pictures so potential guests understand how lovely it is.
