Cozy cottage on our private lake and 75 wooded acres

Experience FARM LIFE on the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee! Enjoy waking up in our 650sq ft, open floor plan cottage with a wood burning flame view stove, on our homestead with a large private Mountain Lake and 77 wooded acres to hike and enjoy! We have seasonal flowers such as daffodils, peonies, lavender, dahlias and more. We also have on the farm a variety of Farm Animals (chickens, turkeys, peacocks, geese, horses, dogs, cats and 1 pig) that love interacting with visitors.
Our private lake is available for catch and release fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. There is a propane grill for your use.
Other nearby sites include historic Chattanooga, Tennessee Aquarium, beautiful Rock City Gardens and Ruby Falls attractions along with several local state parks with waterfalls at Fall Creek Falls , Savage Gulf and Rock Island State Parks for further Tennessee exploration. Please be aware that security cameras monitor the adjacent exterior perimeter of the cabin.

The drive to the property was a little scary in the sense that before getting to the cabin, the housing before driving in looked like a meth house area, it’s not the trailer it’s the condition of the trailer/ housing and surrounding area, it looked like a junk yard, before getting to the gated area. We almost left. It didn’t look safe driving in, but once we made it to the gated area and the cabin it was a little better.

Cozy secluded cabin was perfect for disengaging from the business of life and slowing down for a while. The wood stove was a treat after being outdoors on winter days. Hosts were responsive to messages and clearly attentive to details, i.e. they ensure there were enough washcloths for the duration of our stay! (This is surprisingly uncommon).

This rental was just what I needed for a few days away from the city. The quiet location nestled at the end of a lane overlooking a small lake brought immediate peace. Upon turning onto the lane, I was greeted by three of the neighbors dogs who stood in the street and would not let the car pass until they were called off. I received the same experience upon every time I drove in or out of the property. Once on property, the owner’s dogs greeted me at the cabin. They were very friendly. The cabin was open and ready for me to move right in. The cabin was welcoming with general house rules clearly published and suggested activities nearby. I strolled the property a bit and saw the livestock that live on site. Miniature horses, chickens, peacocks, dogs, cats, and a pig added to the farm experience. Each day started and ended with the rooster’s crow. Inside the cabin, there is a window air conditioning unit that kept the temperature pleasant while inside. There was plenty of seating inside and out. I spent a lot of time on the porch rocking chairs enjoying the quiet and view. The small kitchen had everything one needs for a stay away from home. I only had two concerns from my stay. First, the refrigerator ran loudly making it hard to settle into sleep. Second, the bed was very firm adding to the difficulty of restful night’s sleep. But those things could be overlooked once staring at the millions of stars that can be viewed in the night sky from the dock. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful, peaceful setting. Loved the cabin and all the farm animals. Lots of nice touches throughout the property. We enjoyed a day of relaxing on the lake between hike days. We used the canoe, enjoyed fishing, and had our first experience with kayaking. Also enjoyed a walk around the lake. Loved our two doggie mascots and the ponies. Saw the pig and a cat but only saw the peacocks from a distance. We had lots of laughs with the rooster. He certainly took his job seriously. We highly recommend this property and owners.

We can't thank Joel and Kim enough for our wonderful stay! Our weekend was absolutely perfect. The cabin was so cute and cozy. The view of the lake was breath taking and we loved getting the canoe out and fishing. We got married on the dock and we couldn't have asked for better hosts. We will definitely be coming back for more weekend getaways!

Wonderful Time

Mom and I had a fabulous time kayaking, fishing (catch and release), swimming, and petting the dogs and miniature horses. The homeowners are extremely kind people, the cabin is comfortable, and the property is stunning. Mom and I hope to return!

What a perfect getaway! The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and felt just like home. Every little detail—from the fresh flowers to the charming character throughout—made it extra special.We loved spending time outdoors: catching shellcracker, bass, and brim, walking down to see the beautiful turkeys, peacocks, and pig, and petting the sweet ponies. The two dogs were the best company—such sweethearts!One of our favorite moments was sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch, listening to the rain. Peaceful and grounding. This place was exactly the escape we needed from the noise of the world. Thank you for creating such a welcoming retreat!

The property was beautiful! Everything was just as it listed. The bed was a little firm for my wife but other than that no complaints! Owners were very friendly and didn’t bother us at all on the stay unless we messaged them first .

The perfect getaway

I wanted a cozy place to unplug and unwind before starting a new job and this stay did not disappoint! Bring sunscreen because you'll want to spend all your time outside. We hiked, fished, canoed, and spent lots of time petting the animals. It was glorious!
