Acorn Cottage * Downtown * Tropical Yard

This private tiny home, Acorn Cottage, is located in historic downtown Tarpon Springs, walking distance to the world famous sponge docks, located just blocks away from breweries, restaurants, the Pinellas Trail. And the beach is only 3 mi away! The cottage offers a queen bed, Wi-Fi, Roku TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and shared use of the back yard of our 120-year-old Victorian home.

The space was fully remodeled in 2021!

The cottage is private, and the yard was designed to feel like a tropical paradise. Acorn Cottage has a private bistro set, great for having a cup of tea or coffee and enjoying the outdoors.

Acorn Cottage offers Florida beach town life at its finest. You can rent bikes nearby at Neptune's or Tarpon Tom's. You can rent kayaks or water bikes at Fred Howard. There are dolphin tours, museums, restaurants and so much more within walking distance. Or just hang out in the back yard with a beverage and unwind.

Tarpon Springs was founded in 1876 and thrived for decades on the industry of sponge diving. Now, the town has so much more to offer than sponge diving, but the rich history remains. Acorn Cottage is located downtown in a residential historical neighborhood just a few blocks from Tarpon Ave (our "Main Street"). The main home is 121 years old, and the surrounding homes are historic as well.

We chose Tarpon Springs for its walkability. If you need rides to or from the airport or anywhere else, we have a driver we would be happy to refer you to. The Jolly Trolley is a great public transportation option. There's also a 46-mi bike trail one block away, with rental bikes close by as well. The beaches are a short bike or drive away.

Simple stay

We didn't need much and weren't staying for a long time. This place is small, but was fine for us. If you follow the directions everything is pretty easy to enjoy the accommodations. We were able to walk downtown or drive if we wanted. Nice to be able park in a nice parking lot close to the living area. Patio is nice and we didn't use the grill but its close to the living quarters. We had a great time and will definitely consider renting again when in the area.

This property was perfect for two guests on a weekend trip. Location was great with easy access to shopping and dining. My only complaint would be if you could possibly have a trash can for renters to use that is closer. Smallest complaint ever. LOL Thank you for allowing us to stay.

The Acorn Cottage is exactly how it's listed, prefect location, we walked to dinner every night and rode our bikes to all the trails we wanted see and do. Cottage is small, but comfortable for the amount of time we were there and very clean! Lauren, the only thing I would add if possible is a hook by the shower for your towel.

What an adorable place. Perfect for solo traveling. Place had everything you needed. Coffee facilitiess for morning. Fridge worked well. Bed very comfortable. Easy to walk to downtown or the sponge docks. Only a few blocks. Parking easy. Such a nice landscaped courtyard to sit out. Quiet and felt safe. Recommend.

Cute Getaway

The Acorn cottage is a cute (very small) space that has everything one or two people would need for a short getaway. It’s clean and comfortable and the courtyard is beautifully landscaped and a nice place to sit and relax. It’s close to great food and fun in Tarpon Springs and the neighborhood is very quiet at night. The only downside is that it’s located next to city hall and there is currently construction going on at city hall so it’s noisy on weekdays, but that’s not a problem if you don’t plan to sleep in late. Overall it’s a great place to stay and we would definitely stay there again.

Acorn Cottage

We had a wonderful stay in Tarpon Springs! It was our first visit to the area, and the Acorn Cottage was in a perfect location. The grounds are beautiful and the area very quiet. We were in walking distance to many wonderful restaurants. The cottage itself is small but very well kept. We would have appreciated a love seat instead of the table and chairs for reading or watching tv in the evening. It also would have been helpful to have some beach gear available (chairs, umbrella, towels). We would definitely consider returning to this cottage as the property is very well managed! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The location is not even close to the water front view. That photo is around 10 blocks from the property. Shower is not working properly. Place really clean and rich on details but the location is not related to the photos.
