Boreal Cottage: Serene home in seaside village, steps to Acadia National Park

We’re happy to share BOREAL COTTAGE IS BACK FOR 2026 after exciting renovations.

Boreal Cottage is nestled in charming seaside Seal Harbor. We've created many memories with family and hope our guests will do the same! The cottage features natural blends of wood throughout to offer guests an inviting place to relax after a day of hiking, kayaking, whale watching, or lobster feasting. We provide high-speed WIFI for working from home, Smart TV, and plenty of books/ games to wind down with family.

First floor: The fully equipped eat-in kitchen has plentiful counterspace and storage with a pass-through pantry to the formal dining room. The master bedroom and ensuite bathroom are designed for a convenient first floor location with easy access to washer/dryer.

Second floor: There are two spacious bedrooms with a full bathroom. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has a set of twin beds. A pack 'n play crib is available for little ones.

Outdoor: There is an outdoor picnic table/bench and grill to enjoy the fenced-in, tree-canopied yard. A safe, public playground is also a 2-minute walk down our low traffic road at the Acadia Oceanography Institute schoolyard.

Best stay so close to park!!

Stayed with 4 girlfriends for a few days to visit park and explore Bar Harbor. Home was the best landing place. Clean and had everything we needed.

House was comfortable, in a great location and had necessities for traveling with kiddos, I.e. toys and a pack n’ play
 they even had a couple toddler hiking back packs! Great place, highly recommend!

Perfect cottage for a family vacation in Acadia

We absolutely loved our street in the cottage. It was perfect for our trip to Acadia. Loved the location and authentic charm. The owners communicated well, everything needed was provided and it was clean. Would stay again if we have the privilege of returning. Great trip!

Boreal Cottage Acadia Escape

We had a wonderful four night stay at Boreal Cottage near Acadia. The home, location and proximity to the park were perfect. The nearby beach and bike rental place down the road was convenient. The home had a perfect New England charm. It was stocked with everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

The cottage is great. It's in a wonderful location close to Acadia but away from Bar Harbor. The house is very comfortable and communication with Crystal was timely and clear. We'd definitely stay again if we're back in the area.

House was in a great location. Close to the beach and the park entrance. Easy drive to Bar Harbor but far enough away from the crowd. Enjoyed the yard and grilling out as well.

Great week-long getaway with friends

Boreal Cottage was exactly as advertised. The location was great, very central and never more than a 15–20-minute drive from all the hikes, restaurants, and other activities we had planned. It felt very safe, and the house itself was very welcoming and clean, with all the amenities we could want for a week-long stay in Acadia. It really was the perfect place to rest our head after a day of hiking/exploring.

Perfect accommodation in a perfect location!

The cottage is exactly as described. A 5 minute walk to the beach and easy access to the carriage roads and amazing hiking. The home is meticulous and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We absolutely loved this rental and can’t wait to come back!

Charming Cottage in Great Location

We had a wonderful stay at the Boreal. Such a great location without the crowds. Easy access to the park loop road/Acadia. Enjoyed lunches outside on the picnic table with the smell of lilacs and irises surrounding us ;)

Good location, comfortable rural setting.

Very comfortable Freestanding house with pleasant surroundings. Work great for 2 couples. Bathroom space might be a little cramped for 6 if they are all adults. Is lots of public areas well equipped kitchen.

Boreal Cottage - May 2021

This cottage was conveniently located to entrances to Acadia National Park. The kitchen was well stocked and the cottage was clean. Seal Harbor is a nice quiet area compared to downtown Bar Harbor. We enjoyed are stay.
