Our hostess welcomed us in person and gave important information for a comfortable stay. Spacious living quarters, nice kitchen and great location.Easy to communicate with and a personal send off at end of our stay.Highly recommend!

We were a group of three friends that met two other friends in town. Our was the perfect place to meet for our wine hour before heading to dinner. The surroundings were beautiful and the home so comfortable. Elizabeth was a delightful host who was prompt with communication. The home was well stocked with kitchenware glasses and plates and silverware. The cottage was well located in town and the parking inside the gate was a lifesaver as it was very hard to park in the town. Close to many restaurants and shops. There is something for everyone! I hope to be able to visit again.

Exceptional apartment in the centre of Caen. Calm, comfortable and secure, we adored our stay there. Perfect for our family of three. The kitchen is very well equipped and we took advantage to eat « at home » several evenings, while also taking advantage of the many restaurants nearby. Steps to the major attractions like the chateau. Welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful home in Caen

Wonderful location and host. Perfect location for getting to train and to the places we toured for WWII sightseeing. Very clean and host was thoughtful and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

This home and gardens are beautiful. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants, shopping, the Caen castle, and a great central location for our day trips. The host was inviting, responsive, and helpful.

Great place and location

This apartment in Caen is spacious, is an 18th century building and very unique but updated for the 21st century. Elizabeth was very helpful and a welcoming host. Location is ideal for walking through this ancient city.

A jewel of an apartment

Nestled in the heart of the old part of Caen, this garden apartment is a sanctuary of peace. There is a warm welcome from the owners, who live on site, and their eye for beauty and attention to detail is very apparent. We had a wonderful time.

Beautiful Property

This property is conveniently located to walking to the square where there was a wonderful market on Thursday. The apartment was beautifully decorated and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the apartment was spotlessly clean. Schedule for the breakfast which is substantial and located in the beautiful dining room. Elizabeth plays classical music which is just a perfect way to start the day.

Lovely property in a great location! Caen itself is a showpiece with marvels around every corner and it was all walkable from this charming cottage. It was absolutely everything promised - and in pristine condition! From the well equipped kitchen and relaxing bedrooms, to the luxurious comfort of the sitting room with its windows facing out onto the terrace and garden, we found this cottage to be a little oasis of calm in the middle of the old town. Elizabeth made check-in easy and provided us with information about the many sights to see, the nearest patisserie and other nearby shops and restaurants, not to mention the weekly morning market in le Place St Sauveur.Thank you for a memorable stay, Elizabeth!

Lovely stay

Enjoyed a wonderful, but too short a stay in the apartment at Elizabeth & Gaël’s charming place in Caen. It is situated just a few steps away from a vibrant neighborhood with so many restaurants and shops. We were in Caen to explore nearby sites of Bayeux, with its magnificent tapestry, and the D-Day beaches and museums. Sadly, we did not have sufficient time to explore Caen itself. The flat was well and comfortably furnished and had everything we needed. The hosts were delightful, and very communicative and extremely helpful. Would certainly recommend!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely property for seven nights last week. The property itself is a self-contained flat located on the ground floor of the owners’ B&B with its own little garden. It was very quiet & peaceful; indeed you would not have known you were in the centre of Caen. You could walk to the castle and also into the centre of Caen in under ten minutes. Gael and Élizabeth were very friendly and helpful hosts and nothing was too much for them. All in all, this property met our expectations of what an idyllic French house would be. We would have no hesitation in returning.

A perfect getaway

This wonderful spacious apartment is located right on the edge of a large pedestrian zone, so it is beautifully centrally located. While the house has a feeling of history, it has all the modern conveniences you could ask for. There's a bright fully stocked kitchen (all you need to bring is some food), a living room, a small bed area, a bigger one (with an incredibly comfortable bed) and two baths. There is a fantastic private garden and there's also gated parking. Hosts were absolutely lovely, and it truly is a gem. Would recommend 10/10!

Very lovely property

This property was very comfortable, spacious and clean. We especially appreciated the private parking in order not to have to search around for long term parking. The location is superb! Close to food, shopping and sight-seeing, lots of local activities yet once inside the mansion it is very quiet. Our hostess, Elizabeth, was very, very helpful and courteous. The property is entered from the side so don’t be dismayed when you arrive and you don’t seem to see the same property that is pictured in the VRBO posting. The picture is of the front of the mansion, which faces a lovely enclosed yard. We highly recommend the property.

Très bien

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette jolie demeure, très bien placée en centre ville de Caen et pourtant très calme. Le parking privé est un vrai plus, car on peut laisser la voiture sur place et visiter Caen à pied. Merci à M. et Mme Valognes pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse.

Très beau lieu, très bon accueil

Elizabeth a été très arrangeante sur les horaires et a aussi revu le devis, à la baisse, alors que nous n'avions pas sélectionné les bonnes options. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié sa flexibilité et son honnêteté. Le gite est vraiment très beau, très lumineux, ancien mais propre et bien équipé. Les salles de bain notamment ont récemment été refaites. Nous ne nous sommes servis que de celle de la grande chambre et elle était très confortable et agréable. La localisation est super. A deux pas du centre, mais très calme. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et recommandons ce magnifique gite chaleureusement.

Gite de qualité

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour. La propriétaire est très arrangeante. Le logement est propre, la cuisine très bien équipée. Les salles de bain sont parfaites et la literie agréable. A noter qu'il faut traverser la chambre enfant pour aller dans la chambre parentale.

UN GITE A RECOMMANDER

Une situation idéale à proximité du centre ville tout en étant dans une rue calme,le charme d'une maison et d'un appartement"bourgeois" d'une autre époque, tellement soignés et confortables,vous ajoutez à cela la grande gentillesse et la disponibilité de Madame VALLOGNE, vous ne pourrez qu'apprécier!! Caen est une ville chargée d'histoire et très vivante, la plage est à deux pas... Nous sommes vraiment séduits ,nous y retournerons. Excellent rapport qualité prix, le parking est privé; nous vous recommandons vivement cette maison!!!
