The Britt Cottage is a comfortable, humble mountain cottage nestled in the Line Runner Ridge community. When you stay, you bring the joy and our Britt Cottage amplifies it! You will find the cottage to be your destination to rest, recharge and to re-connect with friends and family. We have a local lake you can use walk to and fish at or stroll around. This is a quaint, functional mountain retreat while you explore the amazing "Land of Waterfalls" and mountains. The Britt Cottage is a lovable home. If you have a need in your life for the odd light switch that does nothing, come on in! (everything functions, but what are those mystery switches for?) Book soon as designers the world over are hearing about our two color wood floors and are clamoring to visit. Our quaint Britt Cottage (named after Richard and Betty, the couple that owned it for over 34 years) was built on a dream .... so you will leave with fond memories of our famous layout and our beautiful sunroom to boot. If sitting outside is your tranquility, this is a quiet, peaceful place to enjoy the out-doors or to go for walks down the gravel roads and to our lake and it's dam. More than that, the area is an amazing place to be in nature and is surrounded by five state parks. Enjoy our Britt Cottage!

A cozy little cottage just a short stroll from a beautiful lake where you can paddle or swim or just enjoy the peace.

Great home in the mountains

GPS led us right to the house which was exactly as pictured. My wife & I loved exploring the nearby towns and hiking everyday and coming back to relax in the hot tub in the evenings. The neighborhood was nice and quiet as well which made it a great stay! We would definitely stay here again.

Calm, peaceful cottage

Britt Cottage was wonderful! We’ll removed from the hustle and bustle, yet convenient to access Lake Toxaway and Brevard. We enjoyed the space and yard and made use of the canoe as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the fireplace was nice and toasty. Will return!

Awesome! But next to other cabins

We had a great time at Britt Cottage! We even had our Christmas there. Beautiful furnishings and decor. Very cozy. Felt like home! Only thing is that I expected it to be more secluded. It is on a driveway with 2 other cabins. Nevertheless, it was fun and the boys enjoyed their trips to the lake!

Brit Cottage

Overall it was a wonderful stay. We did not have hot water the day we departed which was difficult, but bracing. The cottage is very close to three other properties, so NOT secluded. We could never get the gas fireplace to work in the reading room, but since there was only two of us, we shared the living room space. All amenities are provided for and the area is absolutely beautiful.

Peaceful Getaway

Everything was just like VRBO described! A lovely spacious cottage with all the comforts of home. Very clean and quiet. The furniture was very comfortable (not all VRBO we have stayed at have comfortable furniture.) Owner was quick to get back to me with a couple of questions. I was very impressed by the download he provided that included everything we needed to know about directions to the property, surrounding area, checking in and checking out, etc. He left nothing to question and even included photos of gate, lock box, etc. We enjoyed our stay so much!

Chasing waterfalls

The cottage was as described. It was well furnished, internet was good. We used Wi-Fi calling for texting as cell service was only sporadic. We really enjoyed the hot tub after the days of hiking. There is an abundance of waterfalls nearby, some with rugged trails. Cleanliness was good, I detract only because there were spiders/webs/bugs to be found in many corners. To be fair, expect bugs because the cottage is deep in the woods. Be prepared for a long drive on gravel. We were happy with the cottage and value. We would stay again.

Britt cottage

House was clean except white did hair we had a black chi wennie. We took kennel for her and put our spreads on all furniture we where told pet friendly then told us to keep her out of bedrooms I agreed to a $50 cleaning fee returnable ! Had to take our garbage home with us . I can say we left the home clean. Wouldn’t stay again, never met the owner! We had to figure out the TV on our own. I would not call it pet friendly.

Great place but one downfall

Britts Cabin was great, we had everything we needed and were centrally located for the things we wanted to do and see. The cabin is not very private but we honestly never really saw any of the neighbors. The hot tub was a nice touch after two long days of hiking and we loved having the grill as a cooking option. The biggest complaint we have about the property is having to take our trash with us. With a 4 hour drive ahead we did not want full trash bags packed into our car. GROSS! While we don’t mind taking out the trash it would have been nice to know if there was a close place to dispose of the trash bags on the way out!

I was disappointed that there where camera's outside that .where not in the listing, no mention of them at all. the appliances where not up to date. No ice maker, the coffee maker was not something I would use. . Although the place was nice and quaint it did have spider webs.

Thanks for your feedback. Where other platforms have specific spots to mention our camera's (one looking at the driveway and one at the lock-box), this platform has no options for that. Best to use one of those platforms then.... Our guests have found the Britt Cottage to be a comfortable place to stay. My guess is that you would pay a lot more to stay were it to be brand new and modern... and you would not end up staying due to the additional cost... so there is a compromise.

Mildew and mold

I am allergic to mold the smell of it smacked me in the face when we entered the house. The microwave was dirty the bathroom shower liner was moldy, the porch was a wreck with debris that we cleared and swept to sit outside. The initial pictures made it appear that the dock was in the back yard, not shared down the road. We thought we were getting a little house away from it all, not surrounded by other homes. Very dissatisfied. We left no notes or reviews as that was our gift to you.

Lovely cottage in the woods

This cottage was in the perfect location! Beautiful mountain and the leaves were at peak season! We enjoyed the lake and the cottage was cozy. Would definitely recommend!

Away from it all.

Cute little cottage. Be prepared for the 2 1/2 mile drive in on a very precarious winding gravel road. We arrived after a storm and some large branches had fallen around the cottage. We would have enjoyed the front deck more if it the leaves had been cleaned off of it. We appreciated Johnathon's guide to the surrounding area. It was quite helpful to plan activities. Make sure you leave a place in your vehicle on the trip home, as you will need to take your garbage/recyclables with you. Overall, we had a nice time and so did our dogs.

Mountain escape

Excellent location for waterfall hikes, so many to see! Place was nice and clean with all the kitchen and grill essentials. Nice to watch fireflies from deck and fire pit area. Love those lightning bugs!
