Tommy's Bahama is ready for your relaxing or rejuvenating vacation! A Place at the Beach has the BEST outdoor pool on the island, and features a waterslide using tubes, and a nice relaxing shallow end for little ones. This beautifully remodeled first floor, 2 bedroom unit features an L shaped kitchen with a counter that opens to the dining area. With a fully equipped kitchen you can cook in or choose to grill out in the resort, which offers both charcoal and gas grilling on the premises. Or head out to eat at the many restaurants just minutes away! Your balcony overlooks the well maintained lawn, where games of touch football or soccer can be played. This gated resort has many activities to enjoy such as a mini golf course, ping pong, tennis & basketball courts, an outdoor bowling lane, an awesome playground, shuffleboard, cornhole, just to name a few. There is also an indoor pool, heated in the cooler months for year round fun, and a huge outdoor hot tub. With a private beach access you are minutes from the beach. Even in the cooler months, enjoy the indoor pool, hot tub, and the fountain and firepit patio area. Summer Prime Season the unit rents from Saturday to Saturday. Hope to have y'all as guests soon!

Guests booking within 5 days of their stay will have an extra fee of 35.00 due when picking up your packets for pool bracelets and car parking passes. The resort implemented this new fee as of July 1st, 2022.

Awesome place!!

This property is perfect! Beautiful area. Pictures are exactly what the room/resort looks like. Short walk to beach and plenty of room to stretch out on the beach. The amenities at the complex were great too! The pool and waterslide were awesome!! Would definitely recommend staying here! We are already planning our trip next year!!

Pros: close to parking lot, first floor, large unit, amazing communication with property manager Cons: the WiFi was not good, we had to use a hotspot the whole time. Far from the beach, but as I mentioned above it’s right up the steps from the parking lot so it depends if you’d rather be close to the beach or close to the parking lot for bringing up groceries and unpacking. We liked the location. There was only one was rag and a few towels, the unit could use some more essentials and towels. Overall we enjoyed our stay! We plan on booking the same unit for next year.

Thanks for your feedback. A Place at the Beach has just upgraded the entire development's WiFi, so internet access should be much more stable moving forward.

Perfect for kids!

Our kids love staying at APATB due to the proximity to the beach and all of the amenities (green space, playground, outdoor pool with slide, indoor pool with hot tub, putt putt, tennis and basketball). This particular unit was nice and clean with an open floorplan. We loved that it was on the first floor because it made loading and unloading a breeze, and we didn't have to worry about our kids being loud to people beneath us. We would start here again for sure!

A Place at the Beach

We stayed at Tommy Bahama and it was exactly as advertised. Our granddaughters age 5 and 8, loved all of the amenities ranging from the water slide to putt putt golf, soccer, basketball and the excellent location to the beach. The staff and managers were extremely helpful and available. If you want to barbecue bring your own charcoal, lighter fluid and igniters - these are not gas grills. If you plan on cooking bring your own foil, Saran Wrap, covered Tupperware containers and laundry detergent. We would stay at A Place at the Beach again!

It was fine

I had a great time but there were a few things that could be done so much better. Signing on to the tvs was a huge hassle. The drier “sort of”worked and the dishwasher did not work. The kitchen as sparsely furnished and the furniture on the porch was as very uncomfortable. This is a nice condo and with a few inexpensive upgrades would be a nice place to stay. The walk down to the water from the walkway to the beach is LONG. If you have family that struggle with walking on the beach this would not be the place for you. The pool was nice and the indoor pool and hot tub were nice too. I hated having to wear bracelets to prove that I was a guest. This felt cheap and they easily fell off of my wrist.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay more. The bracelets are necessary to keep the amenities for paying guests only. Otherwise pools, water slides, courts, etc would be filled with people and there would be no room for you.

Great First Floor APATB Unit

Great first floor unit at APATB - no steps to walk out to the beach; this unit is on the office/gate side of the K building - so very convenient for unloading/loading cars - but longer walk to beach. Unit was very modern and clean. simply decorated and lots of room. All TVs are roku smart tvs and require streaming login. Kitchen was a little sparse - just very basic pots/pans (i.e. there was no cookie sheet that we could find!) Bring dish pods/detergent, toilet paper, spices, extra throw blankets etc - - this is not a unit that has a lot of those "extras" on hand. Nice view of the back of the courtyard, very clean and fans in both bedrooms was a very nice touch. **Owners should definitely add a broom/dustpan combo for guests use**

Disappointed this condo did not supply dish soap/dishwasher soap, laundry soap or garbage bags. Yet this place wants you to start a load of towels and wash dishes before leaving…. One roll of toilet paper per bathroom.

The property manager was very nice and the property was very neat and clean. I was disappointed the closet in the kids room was locked and our boys had no where to hang clothes or store luggage. Second, the temperature was locked at 70 which is too hot for my husband and 2 teenage boys. Lastly, the key being left in the lock box was frustrating. I had trouble opening it and dropped it below. My husband had to go under the complex to retrieve it. Maybe 2 keys should be available- one for guests and one in the lock box? If I had known about all these rules beforehand, I would have chosen another unit.

Thank you for your honest review. I am so glad I was helpful, and that the place was clean. These are important to me, and our company. The owner uses the locked closets for their own personal items, and storage for extra towels and sheets for the turnover days. This is a small unit, and you are correct, there is not a lot of storage space. We do the best we can with the space we have :) The owner also does set the lock on the the HVAC unit. This helps the longevity of the unit. Heat pumps are not the same as an air conditioner, and our guests don't always understand this. We keep our unit at 75 or 76 all summer. 70 is awfully low for a heat pump! He is just doing what most HVAC companies would recommend he do with a vacation rental. Regarding the keys. I have been a property manager for a long time. Whenever I leave more than one set of keys, the extra set always goes missing. When I leave one set, it always is there for the next guests. We ask people when they leave the unit to keep the keys in the lockbox in case a vendor ever needed to gain entrance. Like if the hvac guys needed to get in, or a plumber, the keys are available for them if needed. Again, thank you for your honest review, and I hope it won't affect other travelers from staying here. Our owners care very much for this property, and so do we. It is upsetting when we hear someone thinks our unit is less than what we hope it is. Heather

Tommy's Bahama Reflections

Excellent location in great family friendly environment. Beautifully decorated with first floor convenience. 2 minutes to the pool and 5 minutes to the beach. Wonderful morning walks to pier or to Fort Macon. Comfortable furniture. Very clean upon arrival. I would highly recommend this property to others. Wish list: - two keys in the lock box for convenience. - light over the kitchen table. Area is dark in the evening. - Another light in the 2nd bedroom other than ceiling light. But even so, a wonderful place to spend a vacation.

Great location and nicely remodeled property

The property was clean and comfortable and the finishings on the recent remodel were great! We lived the first floor location near the parking lot for easy loading and unloading. The grounds of the resort were well kept and had plenty to entertain a 7 year old. Great pool which was necessary for some days that were too windy to be comfortable on the beach. I highly recommend this rental!

Nice place but

The AC was set to 72 and couldn’t be lowered and there weren’t any ceiling fans to circulate the air. During the day we weren’t in the room but it did get a little hot in the evenings. We had to buy some hand soap and laundry detergent which we had to use to wash towels as requested. The keys in the packet didn’t work on the door, just the one key in the lockbox.

Hi Kevin - thank you for your feedback. The thermosat has been changed based on your feedback. I apologize if my welcome letter was not clear that the key is in the lockbox at the unit, it was never supposed to be in the parking packet. I'm not sure how that got confused. And thank you for replenishing the laundry detergent. This is a self catering property, meaning there are limited amounts of laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels left for guests but once depleted it is up to the guest to replenish. Great place to stay in a great area

Atlantic beach is one my favorite parts of the NC coast. Such a cool variety of things to do. This property worked great for bringing our toddler. The swimming pool was the highlight of his trip; beach access was excellent; stone's throw Fort Macon was awesome (my toddler really enjoyed the wildlife there). As soon as we got home, he asked when we can go back to the beach.
