School vacation ski adventure

Great house, super warm and cozy for our group. Comfortable and had everything you could need. Hosts super nice and responsive to any questions about area and things to do. Went ice fishing on pond and caught many fish and went skiing at Cranmore. Would highly recommend!

Relaxing winter stay

We had a great time, if only for a few days, between Christmas and new years. The house was quiet and comfortable with a nice layout and the kitchen was amazingly well stocked. John, the owner, was very communicative, available and helpful the whole time via text/phone. Would definitely stay again!

Family Getaway

We had a wonderful stay. We immediately noticed that the home was very clean and very well kept. It was a beautiful location in winter and would be just as beautiful in summer. We planned skiing on one day and snowmobiling on the next day. It was an easy drive to both and we loved warming up by the fire when we returned. We highly recommend this home.

Cozy family home by the lake!

Our family felt welcomed by this adorable home the second we walked in. Great location for fast and easy route to shopping in North Conway. John was a spectacular host from our first conversation. Besides swimming, my our kids loved playing board games and bingo. We would love to stay here again someday.

Great property with access to lake

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We were close to Storyland which was our main reason for our vacation as well as a great hike up Black Cap. The kids loved the bunk beds and short walk to the beach. Property was clean with a well equipped kitchen and outside grill. Communication with John was great and he even offered up suggestions on local attractions.. Two thums way up.

Great week in the mountains

This was a great location for me and my children to spend a relaxing week. In the midst of the White Mountains with tons of stuff to do, but also with access to multiple neighborhood beaches. We spent half the week swimming and playing at the beach just a short walk down the road, and the other half exploring North Conway, Cranmore Mountain and northern Maine. The property is comfortable and has all the necessities. Communication with the owner was easy although we had no issues. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice, comfy, cozy house. 4 stars on the neighborhood because I’m not a fan of all the dirt roads, but that is no fault of the renter. The couches are a bit low to the floor and were hard on my back, could use some updating. Bed was great! Would recommend.

Very negative all the way around! Location was across the road to a house blocking water view. Porridge pond small, too warm and weedy—-a disappointment. House was dirty, freezer and fridge filled with opened 1/2 eaten food when we arrived. Dead ladybugs under wine rack. Blender crusted with old food, potato peeler had bits of dried broccoli. Shades broken in bedrooms. Central vac not working and vacuum cleaner was packed full of dirt. Pot holders were filthy. Under cushions on both couches was left over food, orange peels, clumps of dirt and debris. No extra propane tank when gas grill was out. Had to replace ourselves. The owner was not willing to compensate for our time spent cleaning although it was definitely necessary to be done. It was embarrassing to host my family in such a substandard property although it was rated as “excellent” when I was searching VRBOs. Never again will I trust a VRBO property.

Amazing Vacation!

We had two families staying together in the house and both families agree that staying at this house and visiting Pea Porridge Pond are on our "revisit" vacation lists. We enjoyed DAYS at the pond, hiking and biking on nearby trails, driving the Kancamagus Highway to Lincoln and beyond, the proximity of Mt. Washington, activities in North Conway, and more. It was a week to remember. The house had everything we needed, including beach chairs and towels. That helped with saving packing room. Everything worked and was in good condition. Thank you!

Nice house close to ponds

Our families (4 adults, 2, 5 & 9 yo) enjoyed our week by the lake. The house is good, well supplied, and just a short walk to the swimming beach (though short, it is down a very steep hill). John was very responsive throughout the process. Throughout our stay we enjoyed lots of swimming, a little canoeing and fishing on the ponds, some hiking, and a family trip to Storyland. We made all our meals at the house and found we always had the pots, pans & utensils needed. We also used the beach toys & chairs, fire pit, and games. Especially enjoyed eating dinners out on the deck and listening to the loons at night

Outstanding vacation home for family with toddlers

This lovely home had all the amenities we needed as a family bringing 4 adults and 3 children (ages 2, 4 and 6). Upon check-in, we were impressed with the inviting feel the home has. Our trips iternary included visiting Storyland, hanging out at the local Edelweiss beaches and viewing the vistsas (and highline climbers) at Cathedral Ledge Lookout. For the beaches, this home had plenty of beach toys for our kids to play with and beach chairs for the adults to sit on. The kids loved the place so much they didn't want to leave....safe to assume we'll be back! The owner was very responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. Thanks John!

Weekend wedding getaway

Our family had a wonderful stay! The house is beautiful and clean! We rented this home for a wedding we were attending and it was a perfect fit for 4 adults and 3 kids. The bunk beds were a huge it! Our daily lives are so busy so we all truly appreciated this quite location and all its amenities- the changing of the leaves, surrounding the home, was beautiful to look at the entire weekend. John was an excellent host. Get communicator and super accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to getaway from their normal everyday busy lives. Although our weekend was filled with family activities, it was a pleasure and perfect spot to return to every night. The neighborhood is peaceful and the views, stunning.

This home was just amazing! We were so happy with our choice. The home was more beautiful and comfortable than we had hoped decor is very detailed ! The house was exceptionally clean and extremely well stocked!!! The kitchen was amazing and we enjoyed cooking together. John responded to our questions immediately, Detailed, informative and clear communications were provided. we were well taken care of. From the ease of signing up, the helpful house book, best beds ever, great walkability to beach , and overall good vibes, we could not have asked for more. Great rental near Conway and just a short walk to beach

Great property! We had a great time at this beautiful home. The house was clean and in great shape. John was quick to respond to any questions I had. The beach is an easy walk from the house and the water was very clean/clear. It was a lot of activities and local restaurants. The only thing missing from the kitchen was a frying pan but we were able to make do. Would rent this property again
