As described in great location to Garden of the Gods and downtown. Located in Old Colorado spring, the center of town was about a mile away with a beautiful down town.

We had our dog and the place was great for us. It is a great location near Old Colorado City, Bear Creek park and Manitou. The host were great letting us have an early check in at the last minute.

The home was clean and the kitchen was stocked with spices teas and coffee. Beds were comfy and bathroom was stocked with toiletries and first aid needs. The welcome book was great with operations of household equipment. Also had recommendations of places to eat that you could walk to and different activities in the area.We had a great stay and fun adventures!

Deceivingly Beautiful Bungalow

I normally stay a bit closer to the Air Force Academy and in newer developments, but this beautiful bungalow worked out just right. The exterior is a bit deceiving, but the inside is very well kept—nicely updated, very clean, and comfortable.Communication with the host was excellent, and the detailed binder of information about the home and local recommendations was super helpful. The location still offered convenient access to everything I needed. Overall, a great stay—I would definitely consider booking again!

Came in for the weekend for garden of the gods 10 mile. We had a long list of to dos and this allowed us to maximize our time as it was close to all the things we wanted. Garden of the Gods, Manitou incline, hiking and cute shops. This a cute place, beds where comfy. Never drove for more than 8 mins away lol there is binder with great recommendations of where to eat and what to do in case your just winging it. Will definitely stay here again.

Quiet Spot

We stayed in CO Spr for a week & this little hideaway was a great refuge after each of several very full days. I can't imagine going back to a hotel room after some of our days. It was so good to have our own mini house. We would always rather make a meal ourselves in a kitchen than eat out. This was a perfect spot to decompress!

Judson is an Army Veteran and a decorated firefighter for a local fire department, Rachel is an author/illustrator and an instructional designer, and Wilder is a sweet toddler who enjoys hiking, reading, and stealing hearts. You may also have the pleasure of meeting Butters, Toast and Crumpet our furry family members. We are happy to host you and enjoy chatting with our guests about our favorite local spots and hikes!

Casa de Luz y Sombra is the second home on my property. We live in the old front house, and you’ll be staying in the new southwestern gem. We wanted to open this delightful home up for visitors due to its amazing proximity to the best parts of town. The home is three blocks from a picturesque trailhead, walking distance from historic Old Colorado City, a short drive to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs.

Casa de Luz y Sombra is unique because her location. For being in the heart of the West Side, your stay will feel rural. It’s a very quiet street, in a very safe neighborhood. Plus with your host living right on the property (but in a completely separate space), you’ll have a knowledgeable guide to help choose the absolute best experiences for you and your family (and the privacy you’ll need to enjoy yourself). The space is decorated with the utmost care providing a comfortable and clean stay. There is even a private yard for your furry friend!
