Modern Shipping Container Studio with Ocean Views
The latest Pointhouse project is Studio ISO, another light-filled glass box in the forest. Two standard 8*20âČ shipping containers sandwich a taller timber-framed area. Discreet slot windows punctuate the seacans while full height glazing frames beautiful ocean views. Intended as a flexible space for exercise, art, massage, or yoga it can also provide extra guest accommodations.

*A feature gas fireplace efficiently heats the whole space and provides cosy ambiance
*Modern kitchen has full complement of compact appliances including fridge/freezer, induction stove, convection/mw oven and dishwasher.
*A queen murphy bed provides comfortable sleeping space on the main floor yet quickly folds away for space during the day
*A mezzanine/loft area accessible by a ladder provides additional work or lounging spaces well as a different perspective for interior and exterior views.
*Bathroom with a glass shower has heated floors throughout
*Minimal, adaptable furnishings allow multi-purpose use of the studio
*An enclosed private courtyard helps to expand the sense of space. Furnishings and BBQ all set for al fresco dining or lounging.

The Lido Spa The newest addition to the Pointhouse experience â our open-air Lido Spa. Inspired by classic seaside retreats and luxury cruise decks, this landscape spa invites you to soak, sweat, and rest in harmony with the oceanfront setting.

THE PROPERTY
The five acre waterfront estate includes Studio ISO, Aerie, a glazed Modern Treehouse and the Pointhouse, as well as 260 feet of low bank oceanfront commanding a sunny point with a private beach. The Pointhouse operates mainly as a B&B for guests who want a little more pampering and wish to be directly at the waters edge. It can also be booked for vacations or small private events such as intimate weddings, family reunions, birthdays.., with or without the Aerie or Studio ISO.
Studio ISO offers space for art, massage, exercise as well as guest accommodations. It can be booked separately or with the Aerie for larger family/friend groups that want individual private spaces to retreat to.
The estate property includes a dedicated beach trail to access the waterfront for beachcombing, kayaking, SUP or swimming. We also have a mooring buoy in the bay for temporary overnight anchorage for B&B guests or guests renting out the whole Pointhouse. Extra charges may apply for moorage.
Other property features include natural forest, gardens, firepits, viewpoints and a new Lido Spa with oceanfront sauna, cold plunge, lido and spa gardens. New spa will include zen studio for massage, yoga, spa treatments or meditation. Additional charges will apply for Aerie guests. Check availability ahead of time.
If the waterfront amenities are not available, the beach at Sargeant Bay is a short walk or drive away. It is sandy at low tide much more expansive and very nice for swimming. There is amazing kayaking in Halfmoon Bay, Gibsons and the Inlet and kayaks are easily rented in those areas.
The location is very central to all that the Sunshine Coast offers -Restaurants, galleries, hiking, biking, kayaking, boating, golf, tennis, and more. Ten Minutes to Sechelt - 30 minutes to either Pender Harbor or Gisbons. Easy access to Vancouver Island, Vancouver or Whistler by ferry or float plane. The only problem with planning to explore the Coast is -You won't ever want to leave the property!
Perfect for a romantic getaway, a relaxing family vacation, small weddings or meetings, a week of sun and water sports with friends, or cosying up by the fire to watch the winter storms.

We bought the property in Dec 2005 as our future retirement home while we were still residing and working in Dawson Creek, BC. It was a successful vacation rental till Feb 2010 when we began a complete reconstruction of the main house and built a new guesthouse (Aerie) on the bluff above.
We made the move to the Sunshine Coast full time in January 2011 living first in the Aerie guesthouse and finally in Jun 2012, the expanded and renovated Pointhouse now a boutique B&B.
We expanded our rental offerings in 2016 with the purchase of the Annex, a 3 bedroom home overlooking the ocean on a separate property, to serve families and groups up to 6. Furnishing the Annex with the stored contents of 2 shipping containers that had been used during construction of the Pointhouse and Aerie allowed us to start construction of Studio Iso in 2019. It has been enjoyed now since May of 2020.
Till the next building bug strikes, the combination of B&B guests from all over the world and vacation rentals keeps us hopping. Fortunately, life on the coast is a more relaxed pace allowing us more playtime, family time and travel opportunities.
