The house is nice and well kept and, although old and a bit quirky, it is well managed with care and hospitality. The surrounding neighborhood is not as nice as the house, but it was quiet in the evening. There was a cracked window near the driveway and the top bunk of the bunk bed did not feel stable. Overall, this fit what my family needed, which was a place to stay on our way to the Redwoods.

Perfect place to stay if you are exploring the Redwood forest

We loved getting to watch the fireworks on the beach. The location was close enough to the beach that we could walk there. Great place to stay.

Wonderful stay for a big group

We enjoyed our stay in Crescent City. The house has everything you need. It has a great location to explore Redwoods national park, and the local beach.

Very unique house

The house was just as described. A classic Victorian with original trim an architectural style. My son commented that it would be the perfect house for a murder mystery or fancy cocktail party. Very short drive to the beach and stores and restaurants. Lola was a great host with good communication.

Lots of space and fully stocked.

Property was large with lots of space. Appreciated the place with things like coffee, sugar, cooking oil, plastic bags, and beach towels, etc. Great stay and place was clean. Group of 10, all happy with it. The only suggestion I have is the vrbo lists a queen bed in the common room. That is apparently a queen inflatable mattress, and could be more clear in the listing.

Sister Trip

We were three sisters with our daughters. There was enough rooms for everyone and the house was so much bigger inside than it looked outside. The house was within walking distance to the ocean and several places to eat. We had a wonderful trip.

This property is managed by Lola Paquette at Coastal Redwood Properties, who manages 12 other amazing Crescent City vacation rentals. You can always count on the best stay!

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Crescent City has only a few historic homes and this stately manor is one of them! Built in the 1880's, it has been upgraded with the essentials (plumbing, electrical, etc.), without losing any of the charm. The claw foot tub is wonderful. Little nooks and crannies will keep the kids busy for hours.

You can see and experience the 19th century in this amazing property. There are even 2 servants quarters on the property and you can imagine the care that was taken in planning for the care of the master and mistress of the main house. The 2 servants quarters are rented to an elderly woman and disable man. You might see them come and go but they will not interfere with your stay.
