We are Laura and Dan Schulte and we are the owners of Murphy's. Some of you from Hermann may recognize the Schulte name. Judy and Norb Schulte moved to Hermann in the mid-1960s to open the Schulte Bakery downtown. They had four children, Christine, Ellen, Tim and the youngest, Dan. Dan spent his childhood in the idilic setting of Hermann and eventually met Laura after college in St. Louis.

Laura is from St. Louis, however Hermann immediately became another home for her heart. Married in Hermann, the drive was made from St. Louis to Hermann, visiting with Judy and Norb (and all the cousins!) multiple times a month. Our two sons both say Hermann is their most special place in their hearts. After Judy and Norb's passing, we all still gather at Tim's home, which he made with his wife, Dr. Michelle Schulte, and their two daughters.

To say we are thrilled to be back in Hermann is an understatement. Laura can't wait for the extension of holidays for her immediate family, her sister Holly and her family, her brother Mike and his family, as well as our remaining matriarch, Carol, at Murphy's.

We are invested in Hermann and we love this town. We hope you will like the changes we are making in expanding our guest accomodations, but know we will be handling everything personally.

Our private suites allow you to be comfortable in your own space while still allowing you the option to explore the grounds. Our guests are welcome to relax and enjoy our three outdoor patios, our large back yard and the "barn." The Barn is another structure in the back of the property with large lounge furniture, a projector tv, darts, board games and space to relax. We also have large barn doors that open up so you can view 4th Street and people watch.

We also provide another outdoor refrigerator with sodas, seltzers, beers and waters for our guests. This is a complementary amenity that our guests have loved from the start. Whether you walk to the restaurants, shops and wineries within in immediate area or just lay back and lounge on the property, we want you to feel at home and well taken care of.
