Tiny home only 1 mile from Vogel State Park! The Gray Loft Reece Farm Village
The Gray Loft vacation rental is an OFFICIAL TINY HOUSE located at the Byron Herbert Reece Farm Village on Hwy 19 south of Blairsville, GA. The unit has a small living area, a kitchen with full-size appliances, a stacked washer/dryer, a bathroom with shower, a queen bedroom, bunkbeds, and a loft with twin mattresses. The unit has a covered front porch overlooking the Wolf Creek (perfect for trout fishing) and a park-style outdoor grill. Community fire pits are available on the property. Just 9 miles south of the Blairsville town square, the Gray Loft is convenient to Brasstown Bald, several local waterfalls, and hiking trails including a 3-mile trail directly from the Farm Village to Vogel State Park!
Though this is a great little tiny house and priced well, the listing does not tell the whole story. This collection of four houses / cottage is located less than 50 yds or so from a busy and very noisy main highway, with lots of large truck and related traffic. Though our unit was well built and well insulated the amount of noise from the hi way really ruined the experience for us. It really was not possible to sit outside due to the constant noise from the highway ( a major issue!!)Additionally photos in the list show a trout filled stream in back of the unit but there were no fish to be seen this trip (one reason we picked this spot) Perhaps the fish die off during the warm summer months? Additionally there is a super bright yard light (on all night) that flooded our bedroom at night (even with venetian blinds closed). Light blocking shades or drapes are really needed. All in all the stay was just OK and we would not stay here again in the future.
Cute little tiny house with everything you would need for a nice stay. Host was great and I really appreciated her quick responses and actions from her. I was let down unfortunately when we arrived. The housekeeper had not cleaned the tiny home after the last guest. The host and I ended up cleaning everything up ourselves. Great area and very close to Vogel and other activities. Beautiful area. Plenty of hiking. Felt very safe. Peaceful area. Would definitely stay again if it was guaranteed to be cleaned!
Great location!! So close to everything we wanted to explore. The property had a wonderful stream out back and it was so peaceful to set out there in the evening and listen to the water. Sandi the property manager was very responsive to any questions we had. Overall a wonderful experience and we will be back!
The Gray Loft was fantastic weekend stay in Blairsville. Convenient to Vogel, and downtown Blairsville. Main living space and bedrooms are cozy. Mattresses in the poft cpuld be better, we wish we had had an air mattress with us instead. Property is oeaceful and beautiful, and not too noisy despite being right off 129.The turn into the property is HARROWING and when cpming frlm the Vogel side can feel impossible. Needs better marking and lighting at the entrance for safety purposes.
Amazing cabin, amazing property. It was perfect, walking distance to hiking trails and Reece Farm and Heritage Center. Beautiful little creek right off the porch. Wonderful people and property.
Perfect location if you're going to Vogel State Park and/or Blood Mountain. Easy access to trails. The creek was so soothing and full of fish fire pit was so cozy and the small cabin was just the right size to rest after a long day on the trail. The only complaint we had was the size of the water only lasting for one person to shower comfortably at a time. The second and third person were definitely taking cold showers. Aside from that, we'll be back the next time we want to hike in the mountains.
The location on Wolf Creek is a perfect home base for fishing, day trips to Vogel State Park and other cities like Helen and Blairsville. It is clean inside and out. We would stay here again.
The tiny house cabin provided a very comfortable place for our family to gather. Both inside and outside accommodations were excellent. The creek that ran along the back of the cabin provided a soothing backdrop. The location was convenient to several mountain activities. I had questions beforehand which were promptly answered. We cannot recommend this enough!
This tiny house is a comfortable place in a lovely setting. We went for a relaxing time away from the city. It is set at the bottom of the mountain and having the nearby running creek we had just that.
Our family had a fantastic time. We stayed Friday- Monday with two adults, two kids, and two small dogs. The house was clean, well-stocked with essentials, and comfortable with enough room for our family. We already can't wait for our next trip to Northern GA!
A perfect tiny house for a few night for us and our teen son. It was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. Loved the property and creek flowing right outside the door! So peaceful. Thanks!
Staying at the Gray loft with my family for a ultramarathon at Vogel state park was perfect. The house was cleaned and we were provided soap, paper towels and toilet paper by the owners⊠such a nice touch. We were only 1 mile away from Vogel which made getting their a worry free endeavor.
Falling asleep to the sound of the river behind the house was great. The fire pit and charcoal grill made hanging outside in the fresh mountain air a relaxing and comfortable experience.
We loved this place so much we started planning a family reunion there for next year.
Very relaxing week's stay and good accomdations. I gave only 4 stars for the accuracy of the listing becaue it was not clear that this cabin was part of a group of other cabins, almost like a camp ground. In addition, the kitchen equipment (pots & pans) was quite sparse. Bring some of your own if you plan to do much cooking. Overall, we'd stay there again.
