Plover Retreat - Cute Cabin Close to Town, 5 min. from beach

Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom plus sleeping porch cabin, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you 'rough it' in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.

Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots: five to ten minutes on foot turn right on H-58 towards town, turn right on Ellen Street to a public beach. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.

As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.

Pet friendly. Plenty of room for 2 adults 4-legged. “Plover Retreat” sign on H-58 really helped us find the place after dark. Thank you!!!Property has seen better days. Dated & needs some love. We’re not sticklers for cleanliness, so that helped. Queen bed was lumpy & those “Best Buy” plastic (Viscose) sheets from Amazon are sticky feeling (I know, cause I bought the same ones & gave them away!)We cooked nice meal. Shower was great. Plenty of hot water. Coffee pot worked fine & that is a MUST!! We picked agates,; drove to places we had never been; had breakfast at Breakwater w friends there. Good stay. Hope the place gets an upgrade.

This was a very cute cabin. We love the trails in the area, and they were accessible everywhere from this location. The porch was hard to leave, very spacious and comfortable. Would recommend!!

Perfect Escape

False advertising on amenities. It was listed there would be laundry and there was not. I reached out to management and she said several others were upset about it too because of a “glitch” in the app. She said to use the coin laundry at the camp ground across town

Perfect little town for a getaway. We stayed for 3 nights and explored the area. The restaurants were great, the beaches were beautiful and the cabin was cozy to come back to. Nice and quiet, offered the right amount of privacy and the bonfire area was perfect. Highly recommend.

Girls weekend

The plover retreat was exactly as listed. Small 3 bedroom cabin. It was cute. Close to town in a quiet area. My only negative comments are that communication was not the best with the host and 1 of the beds need to be replaced.

The cuttest little cabin in Michigans UP

This cabin is beautiful. There are so many well thought out little details and the property management are very attentive. Our little dog didn't want to leave the arm chair! There are a lot of birds on the property, so great for watchers. We also saw a beaver swimming in the jnlet. I would highly reccomend for famlies and have told several friends about it.

Quaint Little Cabin

This little cabin is cute and quaint. The location is convenient, as it is close to town. The lot is also private, with trees providing some seclusion. Our trip was enjoyable, and the cabin provided what we needed, but there are a few things that could’ve made the stay a bit more comfortable. For one there’s no air conditioning, although the host did provide fans. The stove, is very old and did not cook our food all the way through burning only the outside. The Mattresses were also too firm and likely old for our liking. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but some upgrades are needed.
