Treetop Lake House on Private Wooded Acreage on the Lovely Lake Mary

Enjoy a private escape from the hustle of your everyday life to relax with beautiful lake views, peaceful calls of the loons, and gorgeous stars on a clear night. Surrounded by woodlands, our cozy cabin sits like a treehouse overlooking the trees in the large yard and 360 feet of lakeshore. The perfect setting for kayaking, canoeing and yard games for summer fun with friends and family.

Relax in one of the two screened-in porches attached to the house, cook in the fully equipped kitchen and tell stories around the large dining room table, or simply watch a movie in the cool basement. Every room has a view of lovely Lake Mary and if you're an early bird, the sunrises are unmatched! There’s no doubt you'll enjoy the serenity of northern Minnesota lake life from our peaceful and private cabin that looks out to the treetops and shimmering lake waters!

We want you to feel comfortable while you are here, like you are at home. If there is something you’d like, please let us know and we’ll do our best to have it ready for you. Bed linens, pillows, towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all provided, we use Ginger Lily Farms botanical products for hair care. Our kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glassware, serving plates, cookware as well as several small appliances, many spices and basics. Our cabin is cleaned with Clorox products to keep you safe and healthy.

Our lake house sits on a hill and the path from the lake to the cabin is at a gradual incline. There are steps from the parking area to the cabin entrance so this may not be the right fit for those with mobility difficulties.

One canoe, 2 kayaks, and the Lily Pad are all available for you to use on the lake during your stay! We have a variety of life jackets available for use as well, but bring your own if you have one that fits you well. Pontoon is available to rent for an extra fee.

The firepit by the lakeshore is perfect for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows for s'mores, we provide the roasting sticks and firewood. A great way to end the day relaxing around the fire, telling stories with friends and family, listening to the call of the loons, and admiring the stars.

This lakehouse is beautifully decorated and so clean. Karen and Joe provide fun little touches like you would find when staying in a hotel. The lake and wildlife are the reason for us being there; but Karen and Joe made sure that if we had forgotten anything, we would find an extra in the boat house from lounge floaties, fun water toys, and extra life jackets just in case one would get wet or forgotten. The lake is deep and clean and perfect for boating and tubing! It is very secluded yet minutes from town. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We had a wonderful stay at the Treetop Lake House! The room setup was perfect for our group of 4 adults. If you have more people or kids there’s lots of space for more. The kitchen had everything we needed. The family room, downstairs bonus room and 2 screened in porches provide lots of space. It’s a beautiful spot on the lake. We used their kayak two mornings. Very peaceful. We highly recommend this cabin!

Wonderful family weekend getaway!

The property was everything we hoped for and more. Lots of space for different ages and so many fun activities to enjoy. We rented the pontoon and really enjoyed the tubing, kayaks and canoe. Joe and Karen were wonderful hosts and our family had such a great time at their lovely lake house.

Great for families

We had a lovely stay here with 2 families including 4 young children. Karen and Joe are kind and easy to communicate with. The kitchen is very well stocked with every kitchen utensil/pots etc that you could need. The property is lovely and we saw a lot of wildlife. We had a comfortable and wonderful stay and we would stay again!

Wonderful Place

We stayed here with a few of our friends and their young kids. It was perfect, very spacious and open. Very well thought out, with nice little touches. Close to amenities if or when needed but true cabin feeling - beautiful lake, large yard. Karen and Joe were very communicative and welcoming. We would stay there again absolutely!

Lots of family fun!!

We loved the property
 clean, lots of room for a big family, everything you could need for your stay on site!!! The hosts were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The dock and swim area were great for little kids with easy access and a sandy play spot. The screened porches were great in the evening to still enjoy views of the lake without the mosquitos!

Long Weekend with Mary

The property was amazing and offered us full access to Lake Mary as well as the perfect fire pit by the lake. The accommodations were perfect for three couples. The Kayaks and Canoe provided all the entertainment we needed. Definitely would recommend the property and will look forward to coming back next year.

Great stay

Beautiful property on the lake. Loved the views from the house. Great to rent pontoon and use the canoe. Emily meat market great place to grab some quality meats and spme quick groceries and drove into crosslake a couple days for lunch, groceries and mini golf and ice cream. Very clean house and well stocked kitchen. We would return.

Relaxing Family Vacation!

Everything we needed for a perfect week on the lake! Host family met us upon arrival and made us feel at home. During the week we had the lake to ourselves most days. The option of renting the pontoon, which we did, was great. Good restaurants nearby but most of the week we never left the lake! Thanks for sharing your home!

Everything we were looking for

The property had everything we were looking for. The owners gave us a tour of the house and property upon arrival. The house was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The 2 screened in porches were amazing. Our adult children used the kayaks and lily pad a lot. We utilized the fire pit every night and when we wanted to get in from the heat, the AC felt great!

We Miss This Place Already

Karen and Joe excel in communication and were consistently proactive from check-in to check-out. Their home is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, encompassing everything from the bedrooms to the bathrooms, the kitchen, and more. It appears they have considered every detail. Enjoying our morning coffee on the screened porch was just the beginning of each wonderful day. Moreover, the nearby Emily area is utterly charming and tranquil. We're already longing to return!

reunion in the north woods

We had a great time meeting up with family at the cabin. The kitchen was well appointed with lots of supplies already there. We also appreciated the open space for coolers and tote bags near the kitchen by the laundry area. Bathrooms were spacious. The property was beautiful and the owners were kind enough to spray for mosquitos right before we arrived which made for a really nice evening! The lilly pad and kayaks were a big hit as was the pontoon rental. Really nice lake property for a 4th of July get away!

Fabulous!

Impeccably clean cabin. Karen was incredible with communication and met us at the cabin to ensure we felt settled in. Highlights were the 2 screened porches with fabulous views and breezes off the lake. Other special touches were the nice bath products, black face towels for make-up removal and welcome bottle of wine in the fridge! Also the well-stocked shed of water toys for the kids and the kayaks were perfect for our crew (grandparents, us and 2 kids ages 8 and 10). Lake Mary is lovely and quiet without many loud motors. I have stayed at many many VRBOs and so appreciate the care and communication from Karen. She even replied with a reco when I asked about a local fish fry. We look forward to a return trip!

This place is magical. It sits on a beautiful lot with an abundance of wildlife— we saw a fox and a few deer enjoying the property. We had no problem sharing it with them. The loon calls daily to say “Hello.” Overall our stay was great, we enjoyed the lake and all the amenities the property provided to do so. Our boys (newborn, 4 and 6) talked frequently about how each day was the best day ever. This lake has many fond memories for me as a child and I am so glad I was able to create those with my children as well. This is well worth the hike up north if that’s what you’re looking for. The owners thought of everything you’d need while on your north shore vacation. We will be back. ♄

Classic up north lake cabin - great hosts

Our family has a 60+ year tradition of 4th of July gatherings at the lake, and this year for the first time we rented. This property was just the thing. Karen and Joe are great hosts. Excellent communication from the first time we reached out to get some pre-booking questions, through check-in, during our stay, and afterwards. A lake cabin rental entails more "moving parts" than a more traditional in-town home or apartment unit. As a former owner of an up-north lake cabin, we are very well attuned to what to expect from a well-situated, well-equipped, and well-maintained property. This place has it all. Everything was very clean, even the boat shed (frequently a haven for spiders and other nasties) was clean and orderly. The kitchen was very well supplied with dishes, utensils, etc. Lots of spaces inside for our group of 6 adults and 1 toddler to hang out together and also to have some privacy. Excellent lake-front complete with swimming area, dock with pontoon (extra rental option), kayaks, and a canoe. Great fire pit. Final point - the property is on a large lot (300 foot shoreline) and very private. The lake has enough activity to be festive but was not over-crowded. Even so, it is only a 5 minute drive to the charming small town of Emily, with an iconic meat store, a couple of fun restaurants and the mandatory ice cream parlor.

This was our second stay at the cabin and we enjoyed it immensely. The cabin is clean and well appointed - great kitchen for a large group. We rented the pontoon and fished off the dock - kids caught lots of fish! It's a great location for a family vacation.

Your home away from home at the lake

Wonderful cabin with all the amenities, including a pontoon rental, on Lake Mary. Perfect for a weekend away with the comforts of home. Beautiful property, ample space both inside of the house (bedrooms, lounging) and outside (fire pit, yard, porches, dock). Hosts were very communicative and if needed, would have definitely been available to help/address any needs.

Great for small group get away!

My hubs and several guy friends had a great get away! They loved the ability to rent the pontoon, great addition! Gorgeous sunsets and views of the moon over the water. Fantastic space for the group of 6 guys. Would def rent again!

Great for families

We really enjoyed our experience at this wonderful cabin. It started out with the Owners greeting us at the door when we showed up and giving us a full tour of the property and it's amenities. We especially enjoyed the two screen porches, one off the master bedroom and one off the kitchen that had great breezeway and and lakeviews. The bedrooms were nice sizes with comfortable beds. A bonus was that the location has room for all the cars from our family that came up. We will be back. Al and Kathy

Beautiful Lake Home

We were so impressed by this beautiful lake home! The property is stunning on a clean and gorgeous lake. There are plenty of canoes and kayaks, chairs to sit around the bonfire, and beautiful screened in porches to enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. The house was beautifully furnished and well stocked from the kitchen to the bath towels. Karen & Joe were so easy to communicate with and very flexible. We could not recommend this place to stay enough!
