This family-friendly craftsman is the original farmhouse on this side of town. It is just a short walk from the bike path and Canyon Lake Park. The home has the charm of a 100-year old house with modern amenities throughout. Ample space for outdoor dining with a BBQ, a lush lawn, a hot tub, and a sandbox for the kids. The kitchen has a wine fridge and everything you need to get cooking. In the basement is a flatscreen television with leather recliners. We would love to host you and your family! The house is well located along the bike path and just a short walk to Canyon Lake Park, which has numerous events all summer, including Family Food Truck Night every Tuesday. You are a few minutes drive from all of Rapid Cityâs shopping, breweries, and coffee shops. The home is central to everything the Black Hills has to offer. 25 minutes to Mount Rushmore. 35 minutes to Sheridan Lake. 45 minutes to Sylvan Lake and the Custer game loop. We can also provide access to our two car garage upon request. Guests can access the entire property. We respond promptly to guest inquiries. Access to the property is done remotely through a coded key box.
This house is very old, but very nice. Good updates, super cute, lots of space. Quiet friendly neighborhood. Short drive to Main Street, where we ate Murphyâs and Firehouse, both great!Unfortunately the beds were not very comfortable and no king bed. The pictures make the back yard look huge, itâs not but is plenty big! our girls loved the swings and sand box, tho no sand toys to be found. There was no carbon monoxide detector either. .
Our entire family took a vacation together in August. The house slept everyone comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need. The house was clean. The host was available if we had any questions.
Wonderful stay with extended family on our recent vacation. Neighborhood was peaceful though a little more crowded than we expected. Great location, convenient to nearby parks and all the Rapid City tourist sites.
The property has a great location. It is in the center of all the amenities in Rapid City yet quick and easy access to all the other activities the Black Hills has to offer. The home is very clean. The fence and backyard was great for our dogs. The owner had great communication. We would definitely stay here again.
Location was great for our needs, easy to access Rushmore, Custer etc. Neighborhood looked not the best in regards to upkeeps and vehicles on the street but had zero issues, was quiet and next door neighbor was kind when we had to retrieve a ball that went over the fence. Great communication with owner, had a couple issues that were resolved quickly. Quirky old house, very well decorated, hot tub, sand box and play ground were highlights for our crew. Plenty of space for our extended family trip!
This is an old house which is very quaint with old wooden creaky floors. It has been redone but itâs in a neighborhood that is less than desirable. We had issues with the hot water coming and going but the property owner/manager was very attentive and willing to help. He ended up refunding part of our money which we appreciated.
Our family stayed a few nights at the farmhouse and had a great time. The location was close to everything and very convenient. There was plenty of room for the 6 adult members of our family and we were all comfortable. If you're looking for a home base to explore the area you couldn't go wrong here.
We got the impression that this was early in the usage of the property for rentals, as usually there are common items stocked like sugar, creamer, syrup, etc that previous guests leave for the next ones. We had to shop for a few standard items, and left some of the next folks. Not a show stopper by any means however.
We enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Fantastic location with access to parks and bike path. Neighborhood a bit run down but no issues what so ever! House was a good fit for us but would be a bit cramped using all 14 beds. One bed is a double bunk bed⊠so 4 people, and has a weight limit. We were fine but would be crowded if needed for adults. Kitchen fairly well stocked but cookware old and should be replaced. Outside was lovely for the kids and they enjoyed the sand box and swings. Front porch and deck nice to sit and enjoy but need some upkeep⊠we had a few that got slivers as wood is quite worn. I feel the cost was a bit high for the condition of the house but we would stay again. House was clean.
The pictures of this home, on VRBO are beautiful. The idea of an old farmhouse in a central location in Rapid City sounds wonderful, however my family's experience at this home was not the pleasant experience we expected. First of all, the housekeeping and upkeep of the home was lacking. Animal hair covered floors and one upstairs bed in particular, causing us to have to remove the comforter and only use the sheet during our stay. The house lacked a dustpan, so we purchased one to sweep up dog hair. The upstairs bedrooms were unbearably hot and lacked functional outlets, so we couldn't use fans. The upstairs air conditioners had filthy filters and didn't work. Dirty laundry was found under one bed and a sippy cup with sour milk under another. The sliding door, off of the kitchen, had a huge hole in the corner of the screen that allowed flies in when we tried to let cool air into the home. There is no working grill. The hot tub had dirty water in it when we arrived; the host had someone come clear up the water, but it still had debris in the tub.
Shortly after we check out, I received a message from the host, saying there was pet urine on the walls of an upstairs bedroom. He stated he was going to have the carpet professionally cleaned and send the invoice to me. Only, we didn't have any pets. The host's security cameras could verify this. If animal urine was present from guests who stayed there before us, this raises even more questions about the cleanliness of the house.
We were really looking forward to staying at the property and enjoying the hot tub. Upon arrival the door was unlocked, trash cans were half full, used dishes were in the dishwasher, toenail clippings in trash bins, dirty qtips in upstairs room, crumbs everywhere as well as dog hair. It appeared as if it was never cleaned prior to our arrival. We opened the hot tub and it smelt terrible and filter was black and full. There was a broken chair next to the hot tub and an overwhelming propane smell. Contacted host and they did come and drain hot tub and filled it the next day and refunded some money for inconvenience. The side door doesnât lock at all which left us feeling very unsafe and weary. The pictures are very outdated that are uploaded on Vrbo. Overall disappointed in the property and do not recommend it.
Location was great with close access to attractions and everything needed. Would have been helpful to have an information sheet on the fridge with the Internet password as we did not have good service when we arrived at the home to access the website with the info.
Nice overall, but a few quirks on small items.. Hot water Heater is lukewarm, also, only 2 trash bags were available for 6 days, Likewise, other supplies like Toilet paper and paper towels were lacking. Microwave cannot heat up more than 2 items at a time. Pots and pans were very beat up. However, House overall is very nice
Everything about this stay could not have been more perfect! From Booking to help with payment options, Morgan was very responsive. The home is very roomy and very comfortable. We (8 adults) had stayed in a one room cabin in Aladdin for 5 nights so were so appreciative to be able to have so much space and comfort. Very nice location for seeing the Black Hillsđ
