Camp at Gull Bay with Lake George View and walking distance to beach

Our 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin (Camp is the term used in Putnam) is available for rent. It is on Lake George up on the east side of the lake at Gull Bay in Putnam Station NY. Gull bay is a quiet community, very family friendly, about 40 minutes from Lake George Village and 10 minutes from Ticonderoga. The closet stores are in Ticonderoga Walmart/ Walgreens or Green Mountain Grocery in Whitehall. Our cabin has a lake view and is walking distance to a public beach and public boat ramp! Make use of our inflatable Kayak around the bay! Two bedrooms, one bathroom it can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. One bedroom contains a queen bed and the other bedroom has a full bed and a bunk bed with two twins, we ask that you bring your own sheets and pillowcases. Pillows and blankets are provided. There is a large deck with patio furniture. We have put in a new bathroom and a new fridge and reorganized some furniture to allow for family dinners around a table. We are often on-site, as we have a separate unit in the back. We have Wi-Fi hooked up to an Amazon Prime stick for TV. An AC unit provides some relief during the day, but it is often not needed at night. Our cabin is on a septic system. We have recently replaced leaking sinks and old toilets and are striving to reduce our water usage. Please help us conserve water and do not let the water run. Please do not pour oils down the drain.

Kitchen Items: Range, Toaster Oven/Air Fryer, Toaster, Microwave, Coffee Maker, and Pots/Pans and Utensils.

We have the following amenities: Grill, Patio Furniture, Cooler, Umbrella, 2 Beach Chairs, Double Inflatable Kayak with Life-Vests, High-chair, Pack and play, 2 oscillating fans, and ceiling fans in all rooms, and 1 AC unit in cabin. Kids toys outside (Water table, picnic table, small slide).

I Should Have Read the Listing More Closely

First, of all, I will start by saying that this may be a great rental for some but it was not to my liking. I did not read the listing or information about the property as closely as I should have. It is NOT heated, except for a space heater. Could be okay in the summer, but uncomfortable on chilly October nights. It does NOT come with sheets or towels. I had to drive 20 minutes to the nearest store to get some. So make sure you read the listing thoroughly! Other things I didn't like about the property were the weak water pressure in the shower and bathroom sink. It took me forever to rinse off. The carpets are dirty. Make sure you don't drop anything underneath the bed because then you will see what I mean. I also didn't like that the sliding front door didn't have a safety bar and was very difficult to lock. As a single female staying at a place with no cellphone service I felt very unsafe. Finally, the second sliding glass door needs curtains or a blind. All that being said, it could be a nice place for some but it fell short of my expectations. Make sure you know what you are walking into. I would have prepared myself better had I known or chosen somewhere else.

Hi Julia, Our camp is certainly not a hotel, we try to keep our listing extremely accurate. We will make sure that information is highlighted for future renters. We will check on the water pressure, as we just had a pump and valve replaced and everything seemed to be working fine. We do keep spare sheets and towels under the bed incase people forget, you should have contacted us if you needed something. Most people connect their phones to the wifi service as no cabins in the area have cell phone service. We left a space heater and we often find that is enough for the cabin through October. We do not rent past mid October as the boat ramp closes etc. Gull bay is mostly a summer community as most villages around the lake. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Sandra & Francisci

Nice and quiet

The place was nice and quiet so we could relax after a long day of working. The grill and kitchen were nice to cook our meals with. The beds were very uncomfortable for our group.

Sandra was responsive to my emails. Beautiful house with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Property well kept, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Perfect location within walking distance to the quiet beach. We don’t think we’ve been so relaxed… Would rent this lovely house again. Thank you so much!
