Maison d'Hôtes Lumineuse dans la Vallée de Madison

Private and airy detached second floor studio guest house. The house is completely separate and in the lovely back yard of the main house. Set above the street in the quiet and central neighborhood of Madison Valley, it is designed for comfort and privacy with an alley facing entrance and easy parking on the street within 100 meters. Two and a half blocks to many nice restaurants and shops, five blocks to the Arboretum, ten blocks to a swim in lake Washington, less than a mile from all the action on Capitol hill, and less than two from downtown. Easy access (bus stop on block) to the UW, downtown and Capitol hill.

The space:
The space is a high ceiling studio with hardwood floors, heated stone floors in the bathroom, central AC and a sunny disposition high above a quiet alley. Precious light floods in from all sides, but still offers privacy. There is a sleeping area with queen size bed, sitting area, eating nook and kitchen with cooktop, refrigerator and dishwasher, bath and window seat. All you will ever need for a short or long stay.

We loved this modern guest house! The interior space is well designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. Kitchen is sleek in design and has everything you need from making coffee to cooking meals. The neighborhood is charming with coffee shops and restaurants close by. The host is a great communicator and provides clear instructions from accessing the property to check-out. We will definitely book this guest house again!

Andrew’s over-garage studio apartment is great—a safe, comfortable, and convenient location to explore Seattle. Note that the street parking is on the cross-streets, not on the alley where the apartment is located. It was a short walk, but one night we did have a stressful encounter with a loose dog that charged us as we were walking back to the apartment. The apartment itself was clean and pretty comfortable; we appreciated the small kitchen, which worked well for us. The bed was very comfortable.

The space was clean, very light, and well laid out. Parking on the street was easy and just a short walk to the door of the unit. AC worked well for us but also the highs were in the mid 70's so AD didn't need to work to the max. No counters in the bathroom so we used the large kitchen counter for some of our things. Area was quiet and very convenient to Madison Ave.We would certainly stay there again!

This was a cozy small studio like full suite with everything a couple need for even long stays. It was clean and spotless. This unit is located on back end of the house and has easy access from the back alley. It is independent and separate from the main house. It is very close to shops, grocery store and resturants. It is 5 minutes from the lake front with car. The only negative didn't have washer and dryer. There is Japanese Garden with in 5 minutes for 10 minutes walk. Many nice parks and green belt for stroling and enjoying the nature

I am a dual Canadian/ American living the life in Seattle! Over the years I have traveled many places and met many interesting and kind folks. When I am not being the best dad I can for my two boys, or traveling the world, I work as a designer and builder. The cottage I let, is one of my design and build.

Madison Valley is the best of living in Seattle. There is no other neighborhood that is as close to all the action, while still being quiet and safe. The Arboretum is the flagship urban park of the city, with gardens, Lake Washington shoreline and islands, and over 2000 species of trees, it is a must see and only four blocks away. The Madison Valley restaurant scene, just three blocks away, is very high quality but casual, with sushi, French, Basque, vegetarian, Thai, pizza and others. Further out but still within a five minute Uber, are Madison Park, Madrona, and Capitol Hill with innumerable places to eat and things to do of all description. Downtown is a 15 minute cab or direct bus (Rapid Ride G line starts two blocks away). If you are looking to be near all the action, without being in it, there is no better place.
