Nice walks in both directions. Great for exploring. Old primitive mills and stone structures in the area. Birds, woodpeckers, nut hatches, finches, tufted titmouse, sparrows, owls and hawks, doves.

Entire home available. The layout is classic saltbox mixed with contemporary. The back living room is spacious with great views out side. The bedroom with the king bed is open and has a fireplace. The bedroom with the king bed is not enclosed, purposely designed open with the fireplace. It is three bedrooms, one is with a king, one with a queen and one with a twin size bed. There are three staircases one wooden one goes upstairs with full handrail, two are carpeted 6 steps with no handrails.

Owner will use the separate building on the property for stays 3 days or more.

Screen porch away from the bugs and nice to sit outside. Lanterns provided.

Very spacious. The layout was convenient - a full bathroom with a washer and dryer on the main level, plus another full bath and a powder bath upstairs. We also appreciated that there were plenty of towels for our stay. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, and utensils, which made meals easy.

Excellent experience

Matt was extremely cooperative and always available for any questions we had. The house was totally stocked with everything one might need in case you forgot something. It is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood and the perfect size for a large family getaway. The fact that it was pet friendly was very important to us.

Fun Family Get Together

Big house with lots of space. Lots of character. Owner was very responsive and this rental had a big part in one of our best family vacations ever. Due to additions and assumed remodels the light switches were a bit hard to find.

It had the necessities but it was not clean. There was grease on the range hood and the drawers were full. The host was professional but there were stairs with no handrails. The main bedroom had no door and did not have privacy. The entance to the house had a ripped screen and my husband got cut. We left for a hotel on Wednesday.

Arrived early and expected to come in so no time for doing the normal routine of the checklist. The home is sprawling with three bedrooms, two have doors and the master is open concept. This is in the description. The open bedroom has a fireplace, which guests love in the winter. Kitchen drawers will take note of that but they are full with utensils used in the kitchen. Did not know about the screen door, was not on my radar and will fix it immediately. Will inform the cleaning service of range hood. Asked guest for specifics for specifics on cleaning and they did not respond.

Quiet Retreat

The house was clean (could use additional dusting) and located in a quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed our 3 night stay. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. I would've liked instructions for the light switches. There were so many... Other than that, the owner was quite responsive to our emails. Definitely would stay again if it's available.

My wife and I were in the area for a wedding so we rented this house for us two and two dogs. It could not have been better. Spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean we very much enjoyed our stay. We won't wait for another wedding to go back.

Home away from home

Enchanting and eclectic. Well loved home with the children's highth recorded on the kitchen wall. Light in every room during the day and dark as a cave at night. If you want seclusion this is the place. Watch the stars and view the animals. Looking forward to a summer rental. 5 stars

Comfortable Home, Quiet Location

We stayed at Matt's home during a renovation of our own home. Matt was easy to work with, very responsive and allowed us to bring our pets. The house was very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. We loved the living/tv room that looked out at the woods in the back yard. The neighborhood was quiet but close to stores and activities. We took our dog on daily walks at Fountain Park and discovered delicious baked goods and ice cream at Rice's Fruit Farm (both nearby in Wilbraham). A very enjoyable visit - thanks Matt!

Awesome house in the country

This house sits in a beautiful setting, along a historic country road. The area is quiet and picturesque, with lots of birds and wildlife. The house itself is large and comfortable. The living room is huge, with a big tv. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the great room is perfect for dinners and other gatherings. The beds are super comforable. The screen porch is an extra bonus. I've stayed here several times and plan to stay again. Matt is a very responsive host. I highly recommend this house. A+++.

There’s a cottage in the woods

This charming New England country home is located on a wooded lot filled with interesting wildlife. You can sit in the great room and watch birds, chipmunks, squirrels and bunnies forage for food. We imagine it would be stunning in October when the leaves change color for autumn. The property is very private and nights are quiet. There’s plenty of room for everyone and a separate play area with toys for children. The house is furnished with nice antiques and memorabilia that you will find interesting. Also, there’s a laundry area with newer Samsung appliances and a spacious countertop across the hallway for sorting/folding your clean clothes. Matt was great to work with and he’s a wonderful host.

VRBO is renters “home away from home.” Our youngster curious and inquisitive. Numerous personal artifacts are not cleared from the property. He easily located a key to a locked box among all of the games and childrens area. Privatized adult photographs should not be stored in a VRBO rental. Period. He was “playing” in the childrens area and located the locked box. I’m sorry this happened. The property is dated, ripped screens in entry area, gas grill does not work.

WORST GUEST EVER! DO NOT RENT TO THIS PERSON! Val has no respect for privacy. Children go unsupervised. Sadly, Val is also a liar on several occasions. I was horrified by the state they left the home. Food everywhere, caused damage and made a big mess of things. Fortunately most guests are not like Val!

Woodland Retreat

We needed to find a VRBO last minute between Ludlow & Hartford large enough to accommodate 5 adults & a dog. A beloved family member had passed. We had several events to attend in a few different locations. This was the only VRBO to meet these needs. I cannot thank Matt enough for his timely & helpful communications. He was also honest about the condition of the rental. I read all the reviews for which most were accurate. The most positive aspects for us were the clean, soft & comfortable beds. The photos do not depict how comfy they wete. ThHaving 2.5 bathrooms was a major plus for all 5 of us to get ready each morning. The kitchen is a great size to work on. The diningroom is large with a large table and 6 large chairs. The huge, deep sofa & loveseat provided enough room for all 5 of us to sit comfortable to watch TV together to decompress each night. The numerous windows provided unobstructed views of the beautiful wooded property. The lovely variety of songbirds greeted us whenever we were outdoors. I will not take time, nor dwell on any negatives, which others commented upon in the past. We decided to just either work around those aspects, ignore them or "clean" things we needed that were not up to our desires. Lastly, the price allowed us to be able to spend 3 full days with our extended family, which is priceless. Thank you Matt!windows provide
