Escape to this serene Lodge tucked away in the piney woods of East Texas. The beautiful 5 bedroom home sits on a private 22 acre lake. Only 165 miles from DFW, this is a perfect getaway for couples, families, friends, the business folks or any fishermen. Not a fisherman? Not to worry! Enjoy the peaceful surroundings with beautiful sunsets, bird watching, or simply relaxing.

The oversized kitchen opens into the family room with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace, natural light throughout, and exalted cathedral ceilings. The spacious master suite is only steps away with views from every side.

The home was beautiful and had amazing views from the back windows. There was plenty of room to sit and visit and play games. The only issue we had was the cleaning person did not do a great job before we arrived. Trash full, dirty and wet towels in the bedrooms and dirty sheets. The bathroom lightbulbs were out, but it all worked out with doing a load in the washer and dryer and borrowing lightbulbs from another area. The owner reached out and apologized and we went on to have a great weekend!

It was perfect for our family: 6 bedrooms, spacious kitchen, and living area that was in a very serene setting. The privacy was nice also.

Well stocked kitchen, bath & bedrooms. The home is perfect for large families. The view from the living space was spectacular. The fishing dock was a bonus & fishing poles were even available in the garage. Plenty of parking in the garage & outside. We didn’t bring pets but for those that do, will find the large outside fenced area a great place for dogs to run & play. As far as things to do in Jefferson, we all enjoyed the trolly tour. The guide was very entertaining & knowledgeable of the town history. Also, the “Gone With The Wind” museum is a must to visit.

Had a lovely time at Sanders Lodge. Plenty of space inside and out to spread out, the lake is much more beautiful in person than the pictures give it credit. I wish that we could’ve stayed longer.

Amazing comfortable family stay

The property is awesome where we stayed with friends and family.The kids loved the private lake and we all loved kayaking. Property Manager is responsive. The property is around half a mile from the majn gate. So you are by yourself. The property has everything you need. If there's one thing to improve or know about before going, its the constant drilling humming noise from the other side of the woods. It stopped bothering us though. Its a beautiful property we want to visit and experience again.

Wonderful House!

There were 5 couples staying at the house and there was room for everyone! There were 3 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs and 3 bedrooms and 3 baths downstairs. Sooo much room for everyone! The back patio was plenty of room for everyone to hangout together and the kitchen was spacious for all of us to sit around and play card games. We had a blast! Rebecca was a wonderful host!

Beautiful location on private lake

Older home was nice, but needs some maintenance and attention to the property.Pros: secluded property with nice views and good fishing, well equipped kitchen, comfortable sleeping quarters.Cons: outdoor chairs and window ledges covered in bird droppings, outdoor cushions stained, swimming ladder on the dock detached and unusable, multiple boards on the fishing pier rotten and unsafe.

Feels like home away from home

This place is an amazing home away from home. You walk in and instantly your cares fade away. There is plenty of space both inside and outside the house for a large group. Everything you need is inside the space-- you can tuck away for the days you visit or within 20 minutes be to Starbucks, the grocery, etc. We made a quick visit for a TX HS football game but will be back!

During our stay we had a power failure. The front gate is linked to power not battery operated. So when there is a power failure you are trapped inside the property. This felt like a dangerous situation especially if there is a medical emergency or fire. Getting a hold of the host was difficult with delayed response to issues. Would not recommend this property. When it rains the dirt roads become soft and muddy making it difficult to navigate cars. We missed our scheduled prepaid activity due to front gate failure and the owner did not offer any compensation for our lost expense. Avoid this place. Plenty of other options to rent far superior to this around Jefferson.

Perfect place for a relaxing day

Phenomenal Family Getaway!

Our family brought our 91 year old mother here for the MOST AMAZING family gathering! We fished off the pier, caught bass and crappie! Even MaMa caught several! This property is ABSOLUTELY beautiful! We also saw deer! The house is BEAUTIFUL and so comfortable! EVERYONE in this family gives it a 10 star rating!!!
