The Church House - A Charming Newly Renovated House Full of History & Character!

What was built as a church in 1949, is now a cozy and inviting 2 bedroom, 1 bath house! History of the church is sprinkled throughout the house as part of its decor mixed with new furnishings making it the perfect blend of old and new! The Church House sits on the corner of W Clarksville St and Vale St which is 3 blocks from the nearest shops and restaurants in the Historic town of Jefferson. Between the trees and beautiful homes, taking a stroll or renting a golf cart gives your experience a relaxing hometown feel. Take your dining out on the town with the variety of restaurants that Jefferson has to offer or feel free to stay in and cook with your fully furnished kitchen! Each bedroom includes blackout curtains to help you get a great night's rest, a box fan, extra bedding, hangers for clothes, and a luggage rack. Your bathroom has a tub/shower combo, a bidet with a heated seat and water, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, and toilet paper. Laundry room furnishings include a full-size washer and dryer, laundry detergent, ironing board, and iron. We are excited for you to experience all that Jefferson has to offer and enjoy its unique blend of East Texas Pine with Louisiana swampland, and hope that The Church House is the place for you!

This place is walk into history with a touch of modern flare. Every piece has been specifically designed and you can feel the warmth and peace within the atmosphere. Definitely a must stay and we will be sure to be back again in the near future. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful getaway with a quaint town full of history and relaxation.

Beautifully remodeled church into a two bedroom one bath home. Lovely. Cozy. Modern. Comfortable. I could go on and on. When you come to Jefferson look no further than the Church House and you will have the perfect stay like we did.

I loved the house and the location. The house was spotless and the location was just perfect. But the overwhelming room deodorizer smell played havoc with my allergies.

Charming house in great neighborhood in walking distance to town, shops & food. Host Lori (& hubby) have done a great job creating a cozy, comfortable home for guests. The way they documented the history & transformation of the Church House was really remarkable. We loved the history of the area! And all of the neighbors/business owners/workers were so friendly & helpful. We will be back as we didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted to do.

Jefferson at it’s best!

We enjoyed this property for 5 days while visiting friends in Marshall. It was a great stay and the 4th of July fireworks in Jefferson were great. We love shopping and dining in Jefferson so it was the perfect place.

Absolutely PERFECT!

My BFF and I take an annual roadtrip - this year we travelled 3 hours from the DFW area to Jefferson.The Church House was just perfect for our stay. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL HOME! The kitchen/main living area is surrounded by some of the original church windows (which were so cool). There is a beautiful large kitchen island, gorgeous cabinets, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed - including a Keurig w/good coffee, great linens, new utensils and pots and pans. Spotless fridge with filtered water and an ice maker. We enjoyed the cute front porch while we sipped our morning coffee and relaxed on the comfy sectional sofa in the living room each evening. Both bedrooms were beautiful with lovely decorator touches, very comfortable beds and really good quality bedding.The large bathroom had a GREAT SHOWER with incredible water pressure, a warm water bidet, nice faucets, and it also had lovely decorator touches. There was also a large laundry room which had everything we needed to do a couple loads of laundry. The air conditioner was also fabulous (which felt awesome to come back to after our morning and afternoon walks to town). We are already planning our next visit to this wonderful home!The house is located just a couple of blocks from downtown of Jefferson. We walked everywhere during our visit and especially loved exploring all of the historic neighborhoods this wonderful town has to offer.

This property owner checked ALL the boxes! The property was renovated and decorated beautifully and included special touches that preserved the history. We will most definitely be our preferred stay when we return to Jefferson!

Stayed for a fishing tournament

The house looked brand new when we walked in the front door. It was perfect. They host even had a gift basket for us since they knew we were in town for a fishing tournament. We walked to dinner both nights and enjoyed the historic little town. We will definitely be staying there again.

The uniqueness of The Church House is that it was actually built as the Church of Christ back in 1949. It was great refurbishing and upgrading the property while keeping some of its history, like the fabulous original shiplap walls and weight and pulley windows!
