Quiet Time on the River

Booked this cabin to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was beautiful and surroundings very peaceful. Just wish I was brave enough to get in the water! Enjoyed our time in downtown Jefferson too. Want to come back with fishing poles as our son would love it. Thank you for the opportunity to appreciate nature with modern amenities!

Fabulous getaway

Cabin was in such a private location but with all the amenities you could want. The county road to the cabin is pretty primitive but totally worth it. Kayaks were a great perk and fishing from the dock was fun, even if we didn't catch anything. Kitchen was well appointed and the bathrooms were large and super clean. No need to take towels or shampoo or soap or toilet paper/paper towels; all provided. Those are little things that set this property a step above most. Comfy couches in the living room made watching movies at night enjoyable. Beds were comfy and AC worked well. 20 minutes from Jefferson and 30 minutes from the lake was convenient. We really enjoyed the wildlife. We saw gators, herons, egrets, frogs, deer, humming birds, etc. We will definitely be back.

Escape the rat race

Once you get to the property it is very serene. The property was 100% as represented. The kitchen has everything you would ever need to cook with. I really liked that you could always find a shady spot on 1 of the 3 decks/dock available. The highlight of the trip for us were seeing a red headed woodpecker, Anhinga aka water turkey and so many bright yellow warblers that would come right up on the deck next to you. This is a property we would definitely stay at again.

5 Women over 50 - AWESOME WEEKEND!!

This home is a wonderful and beautiful place to hang out and relax. Had everything we needed and then some. Would love to come back again next Spring. Jefferson was a fun shopping experience w/really nice people. What a time we had!! Thank you!!

Fish galore

Had a great time at this house for spring break. Everyone caught fish from perch, bass, crappie, and catfish. Son had such a great time that he’s already wanting to go back. House had many amenities.

Great stay if you are looking for a remote quiet trip

Perfect location for a quiet getaway. Loved the scenery of the bayou and surrounding areas. Wanted to take a quick camping trip to the woods to get away from the day to day stresses. Caddo Lake and the Jefferson area was exactly what we was looking for. Checked off all the boxes!!!

Wonderful Secluded Gem

This place is off the beaten path and really unique. This place can comfortably sleep 8 people and has plenty of outside deck area. Although we aren't fishers... This is a great place for people who fish. The grandkids loved the loft room and unique steps up to that room. The place was clean and had plenty of linens and beach towels. We had a great time.

House was great. Weather was bad for trip, but it was great to have a house to enjoy cooking and visiting. Do not recommend driving to house in the dark. Can be tricky.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

There's so much to do at Old Cypress River House.
There's a boat launch less than a mile away and place at the cabin to tie up your boat.
End the night playing board games by the fireplace inside. Go on a river tour through the Cypress forest with Captain Ron's Swamp Tours and have a catfish dinner at Big Pines Lodge, or be brave and order the alligator!
You're 15 minutes from Caddo Lake in one direction, 10-15 minutes from Jefferson in the other and 30 minutes from Lake of the Pines where you can rent a boat at Bull Frog's.

Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 is huge! It has a King bed with an attached bathroom with a jet tub and a shower.
There is a 55" smart TV in this room.

Bedroom 2 is also huge! It has a King bed. The bath is not attached but is right next door and has a claw foot tub with a hand held shower.
There is a 55" smart TV in this room.

Bedroom 3 is a bit smaller and has bunk beds and an attached bath with a bathtub and shower combo.

Bedroom 4 is not really a bedroom. It is a loft with 2 twin beds.


Dining
There is dining space for 8: a small table for 4 and 4 counter stools at the bar.

Seating
There is a sectional that seats 6 comfortably. 4 dining chairs can be easily used
for extra seating.

WIFI
There is a 55" smart TV in the living room. There is Satellite WIFI available. Hulu, Disney and Netflix can be signed into on all TVs. Remember, what you are trying to do is "get away from it all;" but because we are off the beaten path the satellite internet signal can be spotty at times. Internet gaming on the WIFI is not available since it is Satellite WIFI and there is a delay.

You're out/away from it all, but can run into town for dinner in less than 15 minutes. Jefferson is a great place to explore all of the shops and all of the history. You also have Caddo Lake 15 minutes away and Lake of the Pines 30 minutes away.
