Watch the Potomac River flow from the screened-in porch of the spacious home on your own 5+ acre oasis.

Bring your boat or canoe and drop it in the water on the cabin’s private boat launch or fish from the shore. The river is a great place to take a swim on a warm day. You will admire the sights and sounds of the water and the nature vibe. You will often spot deer, bald eagles, squirrels, owls, and other West Virginia wildlife.

Sit back by the fire - or relax inside the air-conditioned cabin watching cable or your favorite shows on the Smart TV'S inside each room. The home is also equipped with an assortment of board and card games. If you are into outdoor play, you can enjoy a competitive game of horseshoes or badminton.

Gateway by the river

The place is as listed. It was clean. Plenty of towels and extra toothbrushes. We were able to use the fire pit and the grill out during our stay.

Fisherman at the South Branch of the Potomac

The cabin positioned us above the trough section of the South Branch of the Potomac. This was an ideal spot for my fishing group.

Waterfront cabin

There was trash on the floor, dead bugs, cob webs inside, what appeared to be black mold inside the ac units, no warm water for showers. After all this, there’s extra fees to take the trash off property and clean the grill, plus the cleaning and service fees.

HOSTS, PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS GUEST. The guest wanted me to lower my rate and after I wouldn't lower my rate, they started to make up fraudulent issues inside the cabin. They refused to allow access to address the issues they were claiming. When they checked out, we found out they were dishonest. Only rent to this guest if you are OK with being extorted.

Weekend in the woods

It was a beautiful location tucked away in the woods by a river. The house sways like crazy with any movement but I think that is normal. It was very clean and had everything that I needed to cook with and coffee. The house is borderline infested with spiders. Could use some spray. I know its in the woods and bugs are to be expected but they could be contrlled a little better. Overall would stay again!

Cleanliness and good communication.

Overall, our stay was good. The house is very clean and has a cute vibe to it. Our family with little kids stayed here. The pictures show that there is a chance we could swim in the water, but you couldn't. The river was raised and the steps going down led into 3-4ft of water. The rest of the area was a drop off right into the river, so we had to make sure the little ones stayed away. The drive out there was a little too far in the mountain. I wished that was told but that is my fault as well for not knowing the area. The directions were great to follow to get into the house. Unfortunately, we left one day and when we came back someone had shut the gate and locked it and we had to walk back and leave the car and grab the keys to the gate. I wish it was told to us that we had to bring the keys to the gate the entire time. The directions made it seem as if we were the only ones who used that drive way. But overall, the house was great. I wouldn't recommend having kids because of the drop off to the river, and there are holes everywhere in the yard. So you must watch where you are walking or you will twist a leg. Don't let your kids run in the yard, or they will seriously injure themselves.

Old fashioned unplugged fun!

I took my adult daughters and grandchildren to this wonderful cabin on the river for some old fashioned fun with one rule: no electronics! No phones, no tablets, no TicToc, no Instagram and boy did I get pushback ..... until they got in that river with the innertubes and then I couldn't get them out! We had the absolute best time ever and a big THANK YOU to Marcus for his gracious hospitality! My only input is that the cabin could use a few (a lot) ant traps. I expect bugs in the wilderness, but a couple strategic traps would make a big difference because they were everywhere. That's my only gripe on an otherwise perfect trip. Thanks again and we will be back!
