Lost River is known for its Cranny Crow overlook on top of Big Ridge Mountain, which offers a commanding view of five counties.
2. Kimsey Run Lake (22 minutes away) offers a great spot for fishing, and youâll often see eagles floating overhead.
3. Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad (40 mins away): As you wind along the South Branch of the Potomac River, youâll enter a visually striking gorge known as the Trough. One of the most scenic spots along the South Branch, the Trough is home to American bald eagles. All excursions are round-trip and include narration.
4. Trout Pond (35 mins): boasts two beautiful lakes: Rock Cliff Lake and Trout Pond. Relax on a sandy mountain beach or fish for stocked trout while kids splash in the cool waters of Rock Cliff Lake. Trout Pond, home to native Brook trout, is the only natural lake in West Virginia.
