Christmas Stay

Great Property and Location

The property was very nice and roomy. We appreciated that the kitchen and baths were outfitted with the necessities. The location was perfect -- close/walkable to downtown but not in it.

Love the river views

Property is beautiful inside and out! Really well done with many seperaye areas to relax. You have to be able to get past the bridge traffic and train noise but very easy to do.

Jamae and her family were lovely guests to host! Easy to communicate with and left the place clean and tidy and were respectful throughout their stay. We always hope that the earplugs we leave for each guest leave helps to mute the bridge and train noise and hope that wouldn’t deter you from visiting River’s Bend again, because we would love to have you back.

Beautiful historic home!

This home is stunning! Being from Connecticut, I appreciate seeing many of the original feature of this historic home, while still enjoying the comfort of modern amenities. Our host provided so many extras, that were so helpful. The views of the Mississippi River are lovely. Perfect home for a family.

Location Perfection! Gorgeous property, very unique and spacious, historic!

We absolutely loved our stay here. You literally cannot beat this location on the Mississippi! The porch with the rockers and swing was the best! Communication was super easy with the host and she responded within the hour to any of our questions. The house was super spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was super clean and cute little notes and homey things welcomed us. We will stay here again if we can!

House was spotless. Beautifully decorated. Kitchen was lovely. The view of the Mississippi River and the Lansing Bridge are absolutely mesmerizing. What an experience! We watched huge barges come south on the river, make an incredibly sharp turn and then gracefully go under the bridge. We had family visit one evening for happy hour. We all sat on the front porch and simply enjoyed the cool breeze coming off the water. Highly recommend.

What an amazing treat!

River's Bend is truly a special home. Its decor, location, cleanliness and beauty make it one of a kind. In town for a family reunion, we know the area well. This lovely home was perfect! The combination of modern decor and historical architecture, right on the river, is refreshing - beautiful and comfortable! Ellen's extras for guests were much appreciated and made us feel special - baskets in each room with water, slippers, loofas and more! As a host, Ellen was wonderful to work with. We can't wait to go back! Many thanks for sharing your lovely home.

Quiet & Scenic

Had a lovely relaxing stay at River's Bend! House is absolutely stunning: all of the furnishings and amenities are impeccable. Lots or little touches of slippers and beauty samples! Beds and bedding are comfortable and lux. Kitchen is the most well-stocked and organized kitchen that I've seen in a VRBO. Enjoyed many cups of coffee/wine and reading a book on the porch overlooking the Mississippi. There is so much to do in the area - we did Niagra Cage, Mt Hosmer, ate at Saint Francis' Hermitage, Safe House Saloon and Coffee on the River. Def enjoyed exploring Horsfall's Variety store! We will come back and stay here! Wonderful town - we had a dead battery in our car and a local came to us & put a new one in.

Lansing Iowa is a Mississippi river town of 1200 people and is located about 3.5 hours Southeast of Minneapolis and 30 miles South of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Our downtown is within walking distance to the Mississippi River and in fact it’s “ Where Main Street meets the Mississippi River “. Back in the days of the Steamboats, that’s where you would have embarked and disembarked the steamboats. Lansing still has a great amount of history on our Main Street, with many original buildings and storefronts that bring the charm of our riverfront town.

It’s as though Lansing is the ”town that time forgot” and what makes it popular today- the great fishing, great scenery, outdoor activities and best of all, the friendly people who live here.

River’s Bend is nestled on the river’s edge below limestone bluffs with grand and majestic views of the river’s sharpest bend and framed by the historic Blackhawk bridge. Relax and watch the lazy river from the porch or take a short stroll to the quaint shops.

River’s Bend is nestled on the river’s edge below limestone bluffs with grand and majestic views of the river’s sharpest bend and framed by the historic Black Hawk bridge. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 8 room house is rich in comfort and amenities for 1-8 guests.
