Sitting atop 1 acre abutting Wayne National Forest Hemlock Acre gives an inviting feel. Short drive to beautiful Hocking Hills State Park, Lake Hope and Strouds Run. Just a few miles to historic downtown Nelsonville, Stuarts Opera House, Adventure Pro Outdoors, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway and Rocky Outdoor store. 1 Mile to Hock-Hocking Adena Bikeway access, and minutes from Wayne National ATV trails. 4 Miles to Baileys Trail System access. 3.5 Miles to Hocking College and 7 Miles to Ohio University. Easy access to public hunting. During the summer months enjoy relaxing in our 24 ft above ground swimming pool.

This was an excellent property for our group of friends staying here while attending Ohio University’s Homecoming activities. The house was clean and welcoming.

Wonderful! Extremely clean and lots of amenities! Master bed was very comfortable, sheets soft and high quality. Extra blankets were nice. Master bath “shower” kind of a weird set up. Could have used an extra hand towel, only saw one. Kitchen had a lot of “extras” ie:coffee pods, salt pepper, condiments in the fridge etc. My son was disappointed the pool was closed. It was 90 all weekend. I didn’t see on the listing that it closed before our arrival dates. Easy, short drive to OU to visit our kids for family weekend. Would definitely stay here again.

Check-in was easy. The shared driveway kinda threw us for a loop!! Very nice and clean inside and out!! Pool was crystal clear and very refreshing!! Talking about renting again next year!! A rating!!

This was our 3rd year in a row and the home, as always, was superb, the pool was perfect and warm the whole week! The welcome message and snacks are always a nice touch! We will book again!

Amazing Family Vacation

We had a very comfortable stay. This place had everything to keep us occupied when it was raining and the pool was so welcoming when it was not. Close enough to all different types of hiking and plenty of places to check out in different towns nearby.

Absolutely Delightful Stay!!

We couldn't have had a better stay at this house! There was plenty of space for our whole family and it was extremely clean. The pool was lovely too! Our kids spent most of there time there. Another favorite was the front porch. We all had room to hang out and talk as we watched the sun go down. All together was a fabulous stay and we would definitely come again! P.S. Hope was very responsive and helpful!!

Nice and quiet get away

Our family really enjoyed our experience here. We wanted to get away from the bisy city and with this booking, we certainly did. The pool was nice sized and really helped make the heat wave feel less intense.

Great for visits to Athens area

Enjoyed the home for our second visit. Five bedrooms proved ideal for our family. Great kitchen and family areas for hanging out and sharing a meal. Not too far from Athens. A much better experience than any hotel.

Very nice home

We stayed at Hemlock Acre for our daughter's graduation. We were looking for a place that our whole family could stay. This was a very nice property, it actually seemed bigger and nicer to me than the pictures would have suggested. It has 5 good size bedrooms with a really nice master suite. It had a full size kitchen with a full size refrigerator and oven which isn't always the case. The kitchen was well appointed with many basics, such as foil, baggies and spices. The property was immaculate and easily can accomodate 6-10 people. It was also only about 15 minutes from the OU campus. We would certainly stay there again if we needed a place by OU..

Great family stay for OU event

Only a few minutes from OU, this space was perfect for our family of 8 attending OU graduation. Family meals were a breeze with everything we needed in the kitchen: pots, pans, plenty of dishes and silverware, and even the kitchen electrics we needed. This was our second stay and we enjoyed the home as much this time as we did last time.

We enjoyed our stay, we felt welcomed right when we walked in. I live in the country so "close to" was what I was expecting and familiar with, but some people may feel that the term "close to" might be too much driving. The kitchen had plenty of options for making most any meal you would want on a vacation. The area was quiet, but with neighbors in sight. We felt safe as four women vacationing. The beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows. Two TV areas with couches, but we mostly played cards and dominos...the large table was just what we needed. We had a great time and the view of the neighbors pond with the ducks was a added bonus.

Two families came down to visit their Bobcats and celebrate Homecoming at Ohio University. The home is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had plenty of room for all of us to spend time together. Only 15 minutes from campus made this a convenient choice. Our host was responsive to questions and clear about check in and check out. Thanks for the hospitality!

Clean and Comfortabld

The home was exceptionally clean with many unlisted amenities. The beds were very comfortable, family all stated that they rested well. The grounds were very pleasant and immaculately manicured. We were looking forward to using the pool but it had been closed after we made our reservation which was the biggest disappointment. We did not have the password to enable us to access the cable and no quick way to contact the host. (We called home for assistance and the boys were able to see the OSU game.) We would definitely book the home again and would recommend the home to any family.

Relax and enjoy our spacious 5 bedroom, 2 bath home with 2 living rooms, fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. While staying at Hemlock Acre you will have full access to Wi-Fi, and above ground swimming pool, fire pit and covered front porch. Great place for friend and family gatherings.
We will be closing the pool after Labor Day for the winter, weather permitting.
