Shared space with ants

This place was not at all as described. It is a shared space with one front door for two units. The wall between the units is super thin so you can hear every step from the unit next door, especially on the stairs, as well as all talking. I aimed to stay here with my dog, and dog owners know you can’t share a space with pets. My dog freaked out every single step the people in the other unit took. Ants - the kitchen counter and walls were crawling with ants everywhere. Both of the above made it so we could not stay. We were booked to stay a week and didn’t spend more than an hour in the unit. I then tried to contact the property owner as the unit was not as described (shared house) and he was not at all cooperative and refused to provide any refund. Additional notes (not why we left but things I would have wanted to know as well) - the one bathroom was all the way upstairs and in the back of one of the bedrooms. So for anyone to use it, like in the middle of the night, they would have to go through the other bedroom. The ceiling on the stairs is super low, I’m 5’10 and I knocked my head on the ceiling pretty bad. Hardly anything in the kitchen, not even a trash can. Overall I would not choose this place. Property is not as described and the owner not at all cooperative or rational so makes it a very risky choice for a traveler.

Sorry you didn’t want to stay and enjoy the space most travelers enjoy, it is not a shared space but a totally separate duplex. We confirmed with our cleaning team that that were no ants, trash can is in the large closet next to dishwasher out of the way…kitchen is fully stocked! Sorry, we do stick to our cancellation policy as ants (there were no ants and we have monthly pest control) is not a valid reason to cancel a week long trip you had booked holding our property so others could not book or enjoy it…we stay packed with tons of happy guests that wish they could stay longer!
