Sandalwood

Sandalwood is a large, luxurious and spacious home. Set on 3 acres in a tropical setting, surrounded by native bush. A bird lover's paradise with local parrots, lorakeets & cockatoos visiting the deck. Wifi & Foxtel with spacious lounge/living areas and deluxe gourmet kitchen. Microwave, Tea/Coffee making, gas stove, stainless steel appliances, Dishwasher, LG Fridge double door with ice and water dispenser, and 2 Bathrooms with free-standing baths. One shower & toilet downstairs. 2 Rooms with King Beds and four rooms with queen-size beds. There is also a large rumpus room in addition to the main living area. Air Conditioning, fireplace, ceiling fans, large deck overlooking valley with dining, lounge area & BBQ, Separate swimming pool & spa in a Balinese Pavilion. Wireless Internet, iron/ironing board, sheets & towels provided, washing machine, and dryer are in the downstairs laundry.

The hosts reside in a separate cottage on the acreage. The hosts are available for help if needed; otherwise, your booking is a private home.

Perfect for multiple families get together

We loved the spaciousness of the property and it’s close proximity to few different beaches. The large dining room and lounge room was perfect . Pool and spa was a hit with the kids as well.

Absolutely beautiful

The photos don't do this place justice. The pool area & grounds are absolutely gorgeous and it's so peaceful. The house is massive and the open plan kitchen/dining is perfect for entertaining. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back for a second stay.

Fabulous birthday celebration!

Spacious house with a great big covered balcony where we could all (12 of us) sit and share company. Beds all very comfortable. Had everything we needed. Bonus was we had brilliant weather. Would highly recommend for a family getaway. A little bit of traffic noise sitting outside but no problem indoors. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property and big house

Such a lovely property. Nice and quiet. House was a great size, plenty of bedrooms. Kitchen was great to cook in and excellent Lounge area to relax in. It felt like a very relaxed break away. The pool was lovely and had a very Bali feel to it. The pool was slightly disconnected from the house and there appeared to be someone staying at the bottom of the house where one of the bathrooms was which was not what we expected but overall Our stay was great.

Wonderful house for a family gathering

The property is beautiful. A huge house with lots of space for entertaining a group of family and/or friends. Everything available in the kitchen for us to cook up a storm. Lovely comfortable bedding, two big areas for people to gather inside and a fabulous outdoor deck with barbecue. The pool and spa area are delightful and the setting of the house overlooking the bush is beautiful. Listening to the birdsong in a such a peaceful setting is a joy away from the noise of cities and suburbia. Lisa, the host is lovely, patient and helpful with all our questions.

I love being the host of Sandalwood Guest House in the beautiful setting of Avoca Beach. With a background in training and hospitality management, coupled with experience in owning a large restaurant and function centre, I bring a wealth of expertise to the hosting experience.
I enjoy traveling and all things hospitality-related which contributes to the thoughtful design and amenities of Sandalwood. My decision to settle in Avoca Beach, a place known for relaxation and fun, adds to the allure of Sandalwood Guest House for guests seeking a tranquil and enjoyable getaway.
Many guests find the arrangement of having caretaker/owners living in a separate cottage on the property is a thoughtful touch. It provides guests with a sense of privacy while knowing that assistance is readily available when needed. My availability to answer questions during the guest stay and upon arrival, coupled with the intention to make myself scarce otherwise, strikes a good balance between being an attentive host and giving guests space to fully enjoy their vacation.
I have created a welcoming and well-managed space for guests to experience the beauty of Avoca Beach. My wealth of experience in hospitality adds an extra layer of professionalism to the hosting experience, making Sandalwood a desirable destination for travelers seeking a luxurious and comfortable retreat.

Avoca Beach and Copacabana have fantastic, family friendly, patrolled, world famous surf beaches. You have a choice of north or south facing depending on the swell and weather. Fishing, kayaking, paddle boards in the local lake are also available. You can see whales and dolphins swim past from Captain Cook Lookout or even just walking along the beach. There are cafes, restaurants, a bowling club and pub to enjoy coffee, meals, cocktails and nightlife. Local markets are popular on the last Sunday of every month. Avoca Beach Village has a mini mart with a shopping centre for major groceries only 5 kms away. National Parks and bushland for coastal walks are also a feature.

The Bali pavilion, complete with hot tub, spa and powder room provide the ultimate experience in serenity. The saltwater pool with a rock waterfall is 13meters long and great for lap swimming or family fun. The wood fire place in the living area provides a warm and cozy space to gather in the cooler months. The home is encompassed in a sheltered valley enjoying full winter sun but protected from the cool southerly winds. Completely surrounded by bushland and native flora and fauna, including wallabies, echidnas and native birds. wide flat lawns invite games and play.
