We truly appreciate you choosing to spend your vacation in Key West with us and are sorry to hear that certain aspects of the home were not what you anticipated for your stay. This property is a historic home that was originally built before air conditioning, which is why the upper walls are designed the way they are—to allow for proper ventilation and airflow, as was common in homes of that era in Key West. That said, we absolutely understand how important layout/privacy are when choosing a vacation home and we know that this particular architectural style may not suit everyone’s preferences. We will be updating our listing to better and more clearly describe the layout of the home, including the open wall design and overall bedroom configuration, so future guests can make the most informed decision based on their needs. We will also update the description to more clearly explain the bathroom setup, including the outdoor showers and access points for each as we know the photos are not always effective at depicting the flow of the homes. Thank you as well for bringing the outdoor shower flooring to our attention! We will have our maintenance team inspect and schedule any necessary improvements to ensure everything feels secure and comfortable. Our team also sincerely apologizes that the indoor floors did not meet our company cleanliness standards, this is not the experience we aim to provide for our guests. We will be promptly speaking with our housekeeping team and directing them to pay closer attention to the floors moving forward to ensure they are thoroughly cleaned prior to each arrival. We are deeply grateful for your time and honest thoughts on your stay with us, as it helps us improve both the in-house guest experience and the accuracy of our listing for potential future guests. We are really sorry that the guest feels this way. We have to follow a protocol when guests report that there are bed bugs at the properties we manage. We first send our professional housekeepers to inspect the property and then we send a licensed Pest control tech to inspect. If there is evidence of bed bugs, then we schedule special bed bug treatment with the pest control company. In this case neither of the parties found any evidence of bed bugs at all. We were in communication with the guest every step of the way and kept them well informed. We also asked them multiple times to meet us at the property and show us where they saw evidence of the bugs, however they refused. We take great pride in providing exceptional guest services and it is very unfortunate that this guest wasn't happy even though we addressed their concerns right away.
