Cette maison de bois historique historique de Northwoods a été joliment revitalisée et joliment décorée. La spacieuse cuisine à manger donne sur la grande cour privée entourée de bois profonds. maintenant avoir INTERNET au 10 septembre 2015

Il y a une vue sur le lac avec accĂšs au lac juste en face de la rue. Profitez d'une promenade courte et charmante Ă  un bon restaurant, parc, magasins, pĂȘche charte, et un ferry de passagers Ă  Washington Island. Il y a 2 lancements de bateau Ă  distance de marche aussi bien. Fun getaway with kids and dogs

We’ve stayed here several times and plan to in the future. Great little cabin if you like the historic vibe.

Cute, cozy, historical cabin with lake right across the street. Quiet with no neighbors directly on either side of cabin, making it feel slightly secluded.

Great views

Doc’s is awesome. Has all the amenities of home with lots of charm. Great place to take the dogs for a walk. Our second time staying here and we will be back.

Had to clean up black walnut husks in order to use patio furniture. Did not appreciate lawn service fertilizing the yard when our dog was there.

Historic Log Cabin

This is a nice quaint cottage. Plenty of space without having to use the upstairs area. Great fall getaway.

winter month in Gills Rock

A relaxing quiet month of January in this cozy cabin. Kitchen was more than adequate, pellet stove made for great ambiance, and the hosts were attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Description and photos are accurate but would have loved better view of water and sunsets, even if no direct access to the bay. Had the quiet and other features we were looking for. Would consider renting again.

Quaint and historic VRBO at the tip of Door County

This cosy and historic VRBO was built in the late 1800’s and is steps away from the shores of Lake Michigan. We loved the location (close to Newport State Park and other northern Door attractions). Although the cottage is old, it has modern amenities and is very comfortable for a couple or a small family. We will definitely come back!

Goats, disc golf, and spooky dog pics

We absolutely loved visiting and enjoying the fall colors. Our dogs had so much fun playing in the leaves and just enjoying the cool weather. Sister bay was fun, but we really enjoyed coming back to our own private fire and quiet area! Already planning a trip next year

Home away from home

Lovely place to stay

Doc's Hideaway is a beautiful historic log cabin that has been well taken care of. I felt very comfortable and at home there and they provide you with all the amenities you would need. The location of the cabin is wonderful as you are in walking distance of the marinas, parks, boat launches and beaches. The only reason why I did not give it 5 starts is the sitting area is not right in front of the cabin as I thought. You will need to walk a tiny distance, but not the biggest deal. I would recommend this to a couple or family. A very pleasant stay!

Deer hunting stay

I have stayed here before for the same purpose, harvested a buck once. Like the pellet stove, and the new heating system. I stayed upstairs and the heat was slow to rise, i would recommend turning power to the baseboard heater upstairs. I love the location and the overall accommodation, i have been coming to the door since 1968 as a young lad, my father was a scuba diver on the wrecks, eventually buying a home on port a moor drive.

Cozy and cute!

My family of 4, my husband and (2) 18 yr. old's plus our dog stayed here over the Christmas holiday. We celebrated Christmas with extended family who had their own places in Gills Rock/Ellison Bay. Doc's Hide way was the perfect spot to come back to and hang out. We used the kitchen quite a bit. There was amble room to roll out homemade noodles. It was really cold outside, but we stayed warm and cozy and the beds were really comfortable. We loved reading about the history of the cabin. Thanks for providing that information! We would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing Atmosphere

This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a peaceful relaxing time. It is also very pet friendly which is a bonus if your "kids" have four paws. It's not the Ritz but it has the charm of an historic log cabin with modern amenities. The only truly disappointing part is the lake view which is located a few houses down the road and you have to go through someone else's property to get there and their deck overlooks your sitting area so it is not private. However, the view is fantastic. I know it was stated that the lake view was across the road in the description but the picture makes it look private. I wouldn't let this deter you from staying here however because everything else was very nice. It was so relaxing and enjoyable to have a fire in the backyard and to make s'mores at the end of a day exploring the parks or seeing the Northern Sky Theatre at Peninsula State Park. The local restaurants were very good in both Gills Rock and Ellison Bay. Overall, we had a very good time at Doc's Hideaway and would recommend staying at the cottage.

Quiet Peaceful Log Cabin

Staying at this beautiful restored log cabin was quiet and peaceful. The lawn was large enough to play ball with my yellow lab and the location is on a quiet street. My stay was peaceful and perfect for a three night stay.

Charming Cottage

This charming cottage is in a great location in Gills Rock and has everything you need. We enjoyed the pellet stove and walks along the road where you can see views of the lake. It's a peaceful and happy place. Our dog had a great time, too.

Fall Stay

We liked the property and northern location in door county. The pellet stove heated the house quickly in the evening. The kitchen is large and well organized. The rustic look of the cabin was good to experience..

Perfect Getaway

We rented the cabin for almost two weeks while we vacationed in Door County - it was absolutely wonderful. The cabin was very comfortable and in a great location. The kitchen was well stocked with any appliances, dishes, and cookware needed. The bedroom was cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Gregg and Shelli were wonderful to work with and very prompt with answers. We were lucky that it was still cold outside so we could take advantage of the wood pellet stove. We would rent again in a heartbeat.

Serenity in Gills Rock

We've stayed at Doc's Hideaway in Gills Rock previously and have always found it a perfect and serene place to spend time in Door County. After the hubbub of the other interesting towns in Door County, it's so nice to come back to Doc's Hideaway and its location by Hedgehog Harbor. We enjoy the seating by the waterfront, the availability of the very nice campfire ring--and the fact wood is available right there at a very reasonable price. The cottage itself is well-equipped an extremely comfortable. I inadvertently left the key in the cottage when we departed on Saturday and was very worried when we got back after a day's activity to find we couldn't get in. Through the assistance of VRBO and a VERY helpful property owner, our problem was solved. What could have been a fretful event turned out very well. No better place to wind down than Gills Rock and Doc's Hideaway.
