La Casa Sant 'Angelo est une ferme joliment restaurée de plus de 300 ans située à 3 km de l'ancienne ville perchée de Cortona, en Italie. La propriété se trouve sur 2,5 hectares, entourée par les collines enchanteresses et les champs sereins de la Toscane. La ville médiévale de Cortona, vieille de 3000 ans, est accessible en voiture ou en se promenant sur des routes tranquilles à flanc de colline. Découvrez les grands restaurants, boutiques, musées et culture de Cortona et des villes toscanes environnantes.

La propriété se compose de la maison principale qui dispose de 3 chambres (lits King) et 2-1 / 2 salles de bains et une annexe indépendante qui se compose de 1 chambre (lit Queen) et 1 salle de bain.

La maison et l'annexe ont été restaurées pour mettre en valeur les éléments authentiques de la ferme toscane d'origine du 17ème siècle avec de belles poutres et murs en pierre restaurés, et pour incorporer l'élégance et les équipements modernes avec des appareils et des appareils haut de gamme, des comptoirs en marbre, des sols en terre cuite, ventilateurs de plafond importés et belles antiquités du 18ème siècle.

La maison principale dispose d'une cuisine spacieuse de style toscan avec des appareils de qualité supérieure, y compris: une cuisinière gastronomique à six brûleurs et un grill à bois traditionnel, ainsi que de beaux comptoirs en marbre et des sols en terre cuite. Juste à côté de la cuisine, à travers une arcade spacieuse, se trouve la salle à manger entourée des murs en pierre d'origine vieux de 300 ans. Le salon confortable est centré autour d'une belle cheminée à bois. A l'étage, trois chambres spacieuses équipées de ventilateurs de plafond modernes, de hauts plafonds, de la climatisation et de draps et couettes haut de gamme. Les salles de bains conservent les éléments charmants des plafonds à poutres apparentes d'origine, ainsi que les luminaires modernes et élégants et les douches et comptoirs en marbre.

L'annexe est un charmant appartement d'une chambre, avec une cuisine ultramoderne, ouverte sur un coin salon avec des poutres apparentes et une belle cheminée à bois avec tout le confort moderne et la climatisation.

Le domaine dispose d'une belle piscine (5 x 10 mètres) qui est parfaite pour profiter du soleil toscan et profiter de la belle vue ou vous détendre sous le magnifique noyer centenaire.

Les excursions d'une journée ne sont pas loin pour profiter: Pienza (30 minutes), Montepulciano (20 minutes), Sienne (40 minutes), Arrezo (30 minutes), Florence (1 heure)

Amazing Farm House in Cortona

This was our first trip to Italy, and (obviously Tuscany) and we couldn't have been happier with this house. Quite, quant, in the country just outside of Cortona, yet will all the modern amenities we like when staying in a VRBO. The communication was easy, and the property manager was amazing to work with. Extraordinary experience

Absolutely beautiful property, perfectly situated. Marie , the owner, could not have been more elegantly accommodating and helpful, providing us with magnicently knowledgeable guidance. The location , minutes from Cartona, a wonderful, historic town, could not be better. In a few words, the experience was fantastic, a bucket list trip.

Perfecto!!!

We rented Casa Sant Angelo for 2 weeks June 2015. It was perfect for our family the first week and our friends the second week. It is so easy to do day trips from here and so lovely to return "home" at the end of the day! The market is a 4 minute walk and we were able to get anything we needed or pick up food. The house became our Tuscan home and we hated to leave it. We hope to come back!!

Beautiful Tuscan Vacation

This home was beautiful and the perfect place to have a quiet Tuscan vacation. The pool was sparkling clean and provided hours of fun for my family. The location was excellent for exploring vineyards and the various medieval cities of Tuscany. And the kitchen! We cook our own meals because of food allergies and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking large family meals. With all of the high quality local ingredients available nearby, we had a fabulous Tuscan culinary experience.

Wonderful Family Vacation at Casa Sant'Angelo

I am writing this review to memorialize one of the most wonderful vacations we have had in years. Our travel party included 4 adults (38-41 yo) and 3 children (5-7 yo). The house was lovely and comfortable in every way a home can be comfortable. Wonderful and very well equipped kitchen, great bedrooms and bathrooms and terrific common spaces inside and out. The pool is the perfect size and the local amenities are great. There is an amazing market within walking distance to the villa and the property is ideally located for day trips to all of the must see destinations in the region. I hope the is the first visit of many to Casa Sant'Angelo!

Cortona Dream

Cortona is a special place and this incredible find will not disappoint. Just a couple of miles away from town and you really kind unwind on the sprawling villa. Marie is a most special host and everything is explained in great detail. Andrea, is the caretaker and knows everything there is to know about the villa and the area! Sheets and pillows are extra fresh and the A/C was a welcome during the heat wave while we were there. Will return!

Wonderful Week Under the Tuscan Sun

A group of five friends spent the first week of September at this wonderful Tuscan villa. Pretty much everything was absolutely perfect: beautiful property with grape vines, luscious plums, and a stunning swimming pool where we spent many relaxing hours. Communication with Marie the owner was excellent and she also gave us many helpful hints about things to do and places to eat. Inside the villa, including the one bedroom annex) had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was efficient and there was plenty of hot water. Air conditioning in the bedrooms worked beautifully. It was a short easy drive into Cortona for restaurants and shopping and some sightseeing. We also visited the nearby towns of Montepulciano and Monticchiello and the Theia Thermal Baths. But we mostly wanted to rest and relax and this was a perfect place to do it.

A beautiful sanctuary to relax and enjoy

The house is just as described and pictured. It's a great setting in which to unwind and is just down the road from the hilltop town of Cortona or a day trip to Arezzo, Siena, Montepulciano or Florence. It's especially peaceful if you are coming from Roma or Firenze after heavy sightseeing. The house is set amongst olive and plum trees with a beautiful pool. A great area outside for lunches and dinner. All of the amenities are very modern especially the kitchen and it even has a dryer. The architecture and features are really beautiful with log beam ceilings and great touches throughout. We enjoyed walking to the Lunghini Market for bread and produce and salami and swimming during the day and making caprese salad and antipasti for lunch and watching the shooting stars at night. The bedrooms were nicely size. Showers and plumbing were great. A/c worked well. The pool is very kid friendly with a neat design where even smaller kids can stand on the edges in the deep end. We want to come back!

Fantastic Stay in Cortona

Casa Sant' Angelo was better than advertised! We stayed for a little more than 3 weeks. The farmhouse was clean, comfortable and cool (with the AC in all bedrooms in the hot month of August.) Check-in was easy and helpful with Andrea who was at the property upon our arrival. The house had everything we needed and then some. The kitchen was fully equipped. The beds were comfortable. Housekeeping each week changed bed linens and towels and kept everything nice and tidy. (The only nitpick was the water pressure and hot water, but it wasn't a big deal for us.) The pool and outdoor space were dreamy with the Tuscan hills in view in all directions. And the neighbors, Juliana and Amr, were the kindest people keeping the outdoor space beautiful, the pool clean and dropping off sweets for our enjoyment! The location of the home couldn't have been better. It is 1-2 minutes drive to the mini market, 5-7 minutes into Cortona (such a great little town!) and conveniently located to explore all of the great towns and sites in southern Tuscany and northern Umbria. We highly recommend this property!

Fabulous start to our Italian holiday

Five of us stayed at Casa Sant' Angelo for a week 7-14 September. We had a fabulous visit, the villa is lovely and well appointed, the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen are large, modern and comfortable. The lot is large and attractive, with plenty of parking, nice landscaping, a grape arbor and nice pool with a lovely view of the Tuscan countryside. Plenty of instructions and good advice. The caretaker Andrea was warm, friendly and helpful. Cortona is a lovely town, and within easy driving distance of Arezzo, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Assisi and Todi, each of which we visited. Only three suggestions to consider. The villa is not within walking distance of Cortona, full stop. There is no wifi, only one Internet cable. Finally, the driving directions to find the villa are good until you need to make the final hairpin turn to the right to access the gravel road. Highly recommended, thanks to the owners.

Perfect Holiday

Casa Sant'Angelo is such a drealy place we found it very difficult to leave, one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. 3 double bedrooms all with huge beds, fine linen and aircon. We didn't use the annex, but what a lovely self contained apartment with its own kitchen and sitting room. The pool was also perfect, and the cleanest we've had thanks to the robot cleaner and the local guy who popped in now and then when we weren't around. You will need a car and Cortona is just a short drive away, but not really walkable for an evening meal as its on the top of a big hill!! If you want to ditch the car, the mini market is a short walk away and it serves the best meats and cheese in the area, plus home made local dishes. As an extra bonus we found a delightful local restaurant called Barbabi (not on Tripadvior, but they are on instagram). This was literally a short walk across a farmers field or slightly longer via the road. Feels a bit like someones back garden, but you can either splash out and fine dine or have a Pizza for 10 euros. Thanks for having us at your beautiful farm house, I feel sure we will be back,

Fantastic Stay..

I am not sure words can express what a great property this is and what a great time we had. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the house is immaculate, the guest house is adorable, the pool was clean and the setting is serene. The host Marie is fantastic regarding communication. She responds quickly to any questions you may have. Her property manager Andreas is very friendly and accommodating. Her neighbors next door are very kind and they just happen to be the people that water the flowers and take care of the grounds. The location is wonderful and the Local Market is fabulous. We spent a lot of time BBQ'ing and lounging around the pool after a long day of driving and touring around Tuscany. I cannot say enough about this property. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO homes and this has to the #1 ranked home and destination we have stayed in. I would highly recommend Marie's place. I am hoping to come back in a few years and stay again. There wasn't enough time to see and do all the things we wanted. Thank you Marie for an unforgettable Vacation. Zeer goed verzorgd huis

Het huis en de tuin zijn nog mooier in het echt dan op de foto’s. De tips voorafgaand aan het verblijf, het inchecken, de hygiëne in en rondom het huis maken dat we heerlijk hebben genoten. Het huis ligt in een mooie omgeving, 5 minuten rijden van Cortona. Wij komen graag nog een keer terug.

Ein Traum unterhalb Cortonas

Vielen Dank für diesen wunderbaren Urlaub. Alles war sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Die Bäder und Betten sind neuwertig und die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Auch wenn das Haus leicht versteckt liegt und man so seine Ruhe vor Nachbarn hat, liegt es dennoch sehr nahe zu Supermärkten und zur hübschen Stadt Cortona. Wir hatten neben dem Haupthaus auch das Nebengebäude angemietet. Hierdurch hatten wir beide Kühlschränke zur Verfügung, was besonders für genügend kalte Getränke gesorgt hat. Gerne kommen wir wieder!

Stunning Tuscan farmhouse

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful Tuscan farmhouse which was decorated and fitted out to a high standard. The garden was very spacious, not overlooked with a great pool which we all spent many hours in cooling off from the heatwave that Italy was experiencing. The delightful hill town of Cortona is only a few minutes drive away and is definitely worth a visit or two. There are some great restaurants there amongst its squares and narrow streets. This is a great place to base yourselves with many beautiful places within easy reach such as Perugia, Arezzo, Sienna and even Florence. Very highly recommended. Thank you!

A perfect Tuscan experience

Many others have raved on this site about the beauty of the location, the well-appointed house and charming guest cottage and the hospitality of the owner, Marie. I can only echo all of this and add our heartfelt endorsement. We had never rented a vacation home in Europe previous to this experience, and Marie made the entire process easy and enjoyable. The property manager met us upon arrival, acquainted us with the house and encouraged us to reach out if we required anything at all. The location of this property was fantastic with the Lunghini mercardo just a short walk away for any of our food needs. The owners were lovely and made wonderful recommendations of breads, meats and cheeses. We also enjoyed long walks in the area (including just past the 8th century church across the way and down the road through the little village of Montalla. Marie was nice enough to send some recommendations ahead of the trip and they were spot on! Cooking lessons at Il Falconiere, wine tasting at entocea Molesini and many, many restaurants. Our only complaint is that we didn't have enough time in the week we were there to do even more! While late April is a little chilly, the bonus is that it is low tourist season so we had the leisure to wander the region without huge crowds. Cortona is driving distance to Florence, Seina, Orvieto, Umbria, Montelcino and so much more. Enjoy Casa Sant' Angelo as the perfect spot to come home to after a day of enjoying the beauty of the region.

Fabolus house just outside Cortona in Tuscany

We just finished almost 2 weeks in this house about 3 Km below Cortona. We had easy access to Cortona, and also to Southern Tuscany and the towns of Montepulciano, Siena, & Montelcino. We went wine tasting nearby to famous vinyards and went on Culinary adventures to great restaurants. The house is architecturally furnished and decotracted in a fine style. The main house had 3 king beds and a accessory cottage is just over the top beautiful with another king bed and private bath. We did a lot of cooking in the kitchen which was furnished satisfactorily. The yard of the villa should not be overlooked as they are cared for carefully and to a high standard. The pool was cool and is not heated. It does provide a dramatic backdrop to the Tuscan landscape. We would stay here again and recommend the villa highly.

Six Texans in Tuscany

We were a group of 6 senior adults seeking an exciting and yet relaxing Tuscany vacation, which we clearly found at Casa Sant' Angelo. The house and annex were clean, beautiful and very comfortable. We started our vacation with 2 days in Venice and drove to the Casa for a 7 day delightful stay. Danlieli's market was essential to our stay with good food, great wines, and 2 well prepared dinners ordered the day before and ready as we returned from our day trips. We enjoyed 3 day trips to Siena, Perugia, and Montalcino/Sant' Antimo. There was good food, fun shopping, history all around us, and inspiration at Sant' Antimo. The quiet days in Cartona and at the Casa were equally pleasing. We rate the Casa and the trip excellent and agree that next time we need to stay longer.

Tuscan Magic

Casa San Angelo is awesome. We have traveled a lot throughout the years and this was truly one of our best vacations ever. The property was more then we expected and the surrounding areas a spectacle. We enjoyed Cortona as our home base and did the most amazing day trips we could have ever imagined. We traveled by car to Florence, Asissi, Siena , Chianti, Montepulciano and Montalcino. The food and wine in Cortona just a mile a way were exceptional. The nights we stayed in we ate from the market that was 2 minutes away that provided an amazing selection of local foods, cheese, pates, meats and home made pastas. A one of a kind experience. The weather was fantastic. Looking forward to going back.

The most amazing place for the best vacation anyone could ever have

The first word that comes to mind when dreaming about the Casa is MAGICAL. Surrounded by a sunflower farm and mountains yet groomed as beautifully as a hotel property, this amazing farmhouse and annex( we rented both) allowed our family the time of our lives. The staff greeted us like family and set the tone for what warmth the Italian people display to others. The property is immaculate and authentic with grape vines giving us breakfast shade, olive trees and a large pool cooling us off from day trips to Cortona, Tuscany, Assisi and Florence. The serenity of the property made us want to stay home even though we knew the rest of the area was too majestic to miss. Each time we came home we just did not want to leave. The rooms were clean, plenty large enough and cozy in every sense of the word. Our family dinners at home were made from the fresh ingredients from a local market just down the road. We also just bumped into the best restaurant in the world 2 miles away from the Villa. The town of Cortona is much more quaint than portrayed in the movie under the Tuscan Sun- you have to see it to believe it. I have been fortunate to have travelled all over America and other parts of Italy as well- None compare to the amazing combination of peacefulness, beauty, coziness and charm as found at the Casa Sant' Angelo. As the owner advised us, the villa will be waiting for us to return. I cannot and do not want to get it out of my mind. You cannot pick a better place. I am definitely going back.

Great space for a family with 3 comfortable bedrooms and beds. The air conditioned bedrooms were amazingly comfortable. Bathrooms clean along with the entire villa. Great kitchen(although no toaster/microwave) and dining area. Living room was the smallest room in the villa. New WiFi worked well, grounds were beautiful, the pool always clean and a stones throw from Cortona, one of the most charming villages in Tuscany. Down the road is Lunghini Market, great for most of your supplies and great meats,cheeses and some prepared meals. There is also a SuperMercato in Camucia, a 10 minute drive. Near great Tuscan and Umbrian villages as well as a short train ride to Florence. See Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino,Siena, Orvieto, Deruta, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno etc.. If you need a cab, call Enzo who is a native of Cortona and full of information. A great place for a Tuscan/Umbrian adventure!!

Highly recommend

I planned a family vacation for my birthday. Our group was comprised of my husband and 3 adult children with their spouses, significant other. We rented Casa Sant'Angelo for a week. The house exceeded our expectations. The house was spacious, well equipped and clean. There is a lovely market nearby which has everything that you could want. Cortona is close to many attractions in Italy. We took day trips to Siena, Assisi, Florence and Montepulciano. We would all love to return.

This is it!

I spent a lot of time searching for the right place (three kids and my parents) and fell upon this unbelievable gem. The pictures do not do it justice - it is even more beautiful from the moment you arrive. At 10 pm we were swimming in the pool the first night, under thousands of stars, and all you need to do is look up a bit and see amazing Cortona just above, lights and all. The main house has been meticulously renovated and was great with our three kids. My parents loved the annesso - they had their own space - and also felt the renovation was excellent. There is plenty of space to run around and eating under the walnut tree with food bought from the amazing mercatto up the street or pastries from town was lots of fun. And of course the pool - hours of entertainment! The house is near lots of great cities and Cortona itself is a great place to wander, eat and shop! The owner is really great and was helpful through the whole process - her manager was very helpful and the house was perfectly cleaned when we got there. I highly recommend and would return in a second!
