TERRIBLE Experience

This property was horrible! In fact, I would give it negative stars if possible. The online images of the property are deceptive. Overall, the property was unclean with no attention to detail at all. The outside spaces/yard were in total disarray. Garbages were overflowing upon arrival. Before even opening the door to the property, there was an overpowering smell of must/mold/earth that only grew worse upon entry. There was broken outside furniture. There was dirty smudges/handprints on all doors and dead bugs on the floor. The couch in the basement was filled with every kind of crumbs and garbage imaginable. I don’t think it had ever been cleaned. We could not stay at this property and notified the host immediately upon check in. The host totally disagreed that the property was dirty even with photographic evidence, and then stopped communicating. We had to find alternate lodging for my annual firm retreat. I’ve had to open a ticket with VRBO to request a full refund.

Good Stay but with Challenges

We were a family group of 7 senior adults. We live in different places and get together a couple of times a year. The Kettering location worked out well for us. It was convenient to the things we planned to do. The processes for booking, check-in, and check-out were smooth and easy. We ran into a delay at a restaurant on our last day. I contacted the host, and she quickly extended out check-out time. She was very gracious. But there were some challenges with the house. FIRST: The toilet on the lower level did not flush. We discover the water to the tank had been turned off because the clapper valve leaked so badly that the tank would not fill. Every time we tried to use it we had to turn the water on and physically hold the valve closed to fill the tank so we could flush. Clearly the management knew about the problem because they had turned the water off. SECOND: My brother- and sister-in-law got stuck in one of the bedrooms on the main floor when the doorknob came off and they couldn't open the door. OTHER THINGS: The light in the lower bathroom is on a motion sensor. It comes on when you go in and turns off after about thirty seconds. Showers in the dark. The bedroom on the lower level has no door. The TV in one of the upper-level bedrooms could not be plugged in. No outlet near it. There were a number of other lesser issue, but these are the main ones. We spent more than $1,000 for our two nights. I think it is reasonable to expect things to work.

Little house, lives big

This updated clean property comfortably slept 8 men, one per sleeping space, with areas to congregate and visit with many people at once. Four of the beds could sleep two, so total sleeping space is 12 adults. The pictures are exactly representative of the property. It was an awesome rental, highly recommend it and we would do it again!

Nice place; Convenient to Kettering

Convenient to Kettering as we were visiting with family surrounding the medical center. Quiet neighborhood. The stairs down to the basement apartment are a little steep for our kids, but there were so many spaces that made it great. Wonderful to have a washer and dryer. Small dining area, could not accommodate all of us but we enjoyed having the kitchen
