Perfect last minute stay!

The Seashell Shack was perfect for our recent last min family vacay to Galveston! This place had everything we needed to be comfortable and the location was only a few blocks from the Seawall❤️

Not a vacation rental

The outside of the residence needs attention to the residence itself. Rotting wood along the the bottom of the house. The carpet was stained and not clean. There was dust attached to the walls and what appeared to be mold growing on the windows in the back room. The air conditioner could not keep up with the heat, or the house is not energy efficient. The temperature reached 79 degrees in the house and the thermostat was set to 70. The back room had no hvac, the blinds were broken, which allowed heat into the main bedroom. There is no way to block off the entrance into the back rooom from the bedroom. Because the blinds in the back room were broken, there was no privacy when leaving the shower to get your clothes off the bed. That means there is not a lot a room to get dressed when leaving the shower and no where to put your clothes. The showered needs to be replaced. It reminds me of something out of an RV. The toilet leaked and water got on the floor, nor is it very secure to the floor. Something in the walls constantly rattled in the walls. Cable tv did not work. Even though I used the guide for free channels, none worked. We attempted to use the microwave and plugged into the gfc outlet by the sink, but it didn't work. The outlet was loose in the wall and the faceplate only had one screw keeping it secured. The kitchen facet is loose and wobbles when moved. I'm not sure how this house passes inspection for a rental, if there even is an inspection.

BED ISSUES

The house was clean & cute, but the bed situation is misleading as advertised-can't sleep 6 adults. There is small sleeper sofa (full), bedroom has a comfortable full size bed, but the third bed is a full futon type bed in an alcove of the single bedroom with a sloped floor so the head of bed is 6 inches or more lower that the foot of the bed and hard as a rock. Impossible to sleep on an incline.
