Elbow Cay Properties contacted us several times before and during our stay to give us arrival instructions and to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. The house is charming, comfortable and had almost everything that we needed. We could have used a few blankets for beds (as opposed to throws for the couch) on the first couple of nights that were cool. We appreciated the towels and kitchen gear. Some softer/lower pillows would have been nice. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and recommend The Boat House for a group of 4!

Boathouse

Stayed here for a month so opinions may be different from short term vacationers. The Boathouse is a great 2 bedroom house with beautiful nautical decor and quality furnishings throughout. Great architectural details and quality construction. Interior furnishings very nice and support from Elbow Cay Rentals spectacular. Very clean and all accessories provided. Nice sunset view from corner of deck. Nice location - steps to ferry dock, Vernon's grocery store, Jack's liquor (best prices in Abacos), and 1 block walk to one of the best beaches in the Bahamas. Unfortunately steps to town's only pickleball court with noise 3 hours every morning. 1 mile hike to bigger grocery stores and On Da Beach bar. Hope Town resort has free shuttle boat in the harbor. We rented a boat for a week which really adds to the experience. Probably better to do 3 days at a time to minimize bad weather days. Negatives: Should be aware that it's an 'upside down' house so good workout going up/down steps. Unfortunate monster 3 story house 10' in front of Boathouse blocking most of the harbor view. 2 A/C compressors which seem to run almost continuously since their windows are never open. And continuous construction going on with it while we were there. To be fair, many of the in town properties don't have views but should be priced accordingly. 4 nice decks and a patio but almost total lack of useable outdoor furniture. We improvised by moving beach chairs around to whichever area was out of th

Exactly What We Were Looking For!

We are in Hope Town on our boat and rented The Boathouse for our children and grandchildren as we celebrated New Year and some milestone birthdays. We could not have had a better house!! It is perfectly situated for the beach, the town, the dock, and the grocery store. It is spotless and very easy to keep clean. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and the living area upstairs is very well laid out and functions very well. The balconies provided extra space for "alone" time, and there is a gorgeous view of the lighthouse. We loved the way it is decorated - simple but neither sparse nor cluttered. This might be the last time we come on our boat - and we will definitely try and get this house for our future visits.

Great Location

very beautiful house with great location for boat watching, relaxing, easy walk to the beach, to Vernon's, the gift shops, Captain Jacks and the lower public dock. Our excursion captains just picked us up at the dock - and then a quick rinse in the awesome outdoor shower and ready for the next adventure - will definitely stay here again!!

Outlaws, Inlaws and Whiteclaws

The property was wonderful, and great location to public dock. A private dock would relive some stress. A generator would be nice for power outages. The rule of no golfcarts in town was painful there is so much to see and do on this Cay. Lisa was great and very helpful. We will be back.

Wonderful Stay

We loved everything about this place! Love the nautical decor! Nice layout and very spacious with multiple decks. Great location in town and close to the private dock we rented. Well equipped with cookware, beach towels, tote bags, and a grill.

Wonderful home

We were so happy to be back in Hope Town and this home has been completely remodeled and updated. It was close to the Hope Town harbor and the beach. We’re thankful for such a wonderful place to stay!

Home away from home, but better view!

Loved the Boathouse! Great location. Easy access to beach, biking, shops, restaurants, water activities. Loved waking up in the mornings and having coffee on the deck overlooking the lighthouse. House was very comfortable, 2 full bathrooms and the house was well equipped for us to enjoy a home away from home. The owner was immediately attentive to our inquiries and arrival experience. The property manager was welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Both were greatly appreciated. Hope to return next year!

Highly Recommend

This was a last minute trip to join 4 other couples who were staying on the north end of the island. The location of this house was perfect for grabbing breakfast, dinner, shopping. It was footsteps to the ferry dock. The inside was immaculate. Lisa the housekeeper was great and checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything throughout our stay. It was only 2 of us but it’s plenty of room for 4. We loved everything about it and will be back!

Wonderful Experience

The location was perfect- we enjoyed the beautiful view of the light house and harbor every morning over coffee, and the close proximity of the lower public dock for our boat couldn’t have been more convenient. We were steps away from Captain Jacks Restaurant and the grocery store and about a 3 minute walk to the beach. The home and grounds were well kept, clean and comfortable. My son enjoyed the outdoor shower stall every night! Baker and his caretaker team were wonderful to work with!
