Escape to our Kelleys Island cottage: where comfort meets tranquility.

This charming, newly renovated retreat offers a clean and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for families looking to unwind and create lasting memories. Enjoy modern amenities, spacious living areas, and a serene environment just steps from beautiful beaches and local attractions. Whether you're exploring the island or relaxing at home, our cottage is the ideal base for a memorable getaway.

Welcome to the ‘Wigwam’! This quaint cottage underwent a recent major renovation. Our interior designers created fresh vibrant spaces while keeping the character of the historic home. We love sharing our happy place.

This lovely four-bedroom cottage was built in 1860 as one of the original homes on Kelleys Island. You will enjoy the modern open concept kitchen space with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a farmhouse sink.

The dining area features a vintage harvest table, original to the cottage, with built in seating for up to 10. This is a perfect spot for dinners or games. A coffee bar and beverage fridge await guests.

The living area has a Smart TV with a comfy sectional, additional seating, and many family board games are available to enjoy.

The cozy front porch has more seating, a table and chairs for games or puzzles, and is a perfect spot to sip on your morning coffee.

The first floor has a bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom.

Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms: one with a queen bed, one that offers a full bed and a third that has three single beds.

Also included is a guest house studio complete with a queen bed, sleeper sofa, kitchenette and full bath.

A large patio area offers a gas grill, dining set, and fire pit perfect for a campfire and s’mores. A large yard is great for outdoor activities: corn hole and other yard games are provided.

Six vintage island bicycles await to explore the island.

The Wigwam was perfect for our family vacation. We enjoyed a restful time together playing in the lawn and enjoying all that KI has to offer. The house provided everything we needed to be comfortable including the beautifully appointed front porch where we spent time playing games one evening. Thank you for meeting our needs!

Perfect ladies trip

We can’t say enough positive things about Wigwam. We will almost certainly return. There was amble space for 5 adult women to enjoy each other’s company in a comfortable fashion both inside and outside the home. We particularly liked the sunroom but every single space was cozy and well- maintained. The only thing that I would recommend would be a railing on the back steps into the house from the patio. That was a bit of a challenge for our most senior group member. Otherwise we enjoyed our time in the home, found everything that we needed to stay 4 days comfortably and just really enjoy each other’s company. Kudos to the cleaning company and carpenter you use. We had a wonderful time, Kelly’s Island is beautiful. The cottage did not disappoint! It was clean, had everything that we needed, and was decorated beautifully. We definitely want to come and stay in this beautiful cottage again! Thank you! All of the furniture was comfortable, especially the beds! The bathroom in the outdoor living space was a little tight but overall perfect!

Wigwam at Kellys

Beautiful home. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience taking my elderly parents back to a vacation spot from our childhood. Host have this home very well accommodated for large family gatherings. We’ll definitely look at a return visit in the future.

Charming and cozy getaway

This property is exceptional! It was Very clean, charming and cozy. Plenty of space to spread out with your family. Many different spaces to relax like the back patio swing, family room or front porch. The backyard is large and we often enjoyed watching bunnies or deer pass through. It is a quiet spot that still felt close to the main attractions!

A trip that will be remembered

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful “cabin” so beautiful and comfortable-slept like a baby - exactly as shown and plenty of room to hang out - play games - cook/grill - sleep. My favorite spot was the swinging bench/bed for relaxing. We loved the yard and the bikes. Hope to be back again next year!

Hi, we’re Mike and Allison Will, and we live full-time in neighboring Sandusky, Ohio. In addition to hosting The Wigwam, we also own the charming white cottage with the pink door just south of it. We absolutely love visiting Kelleys Island throughout the year—it’s the perfect place for our family to relax, unwind, and escape the stresses of daily life. We enjoy riding bikes around the island, taking golf cart rides, hiking the many trails, and watching the abundant wildlife on our properties. Of course, we also love dining at the local island restaurants and playing in nearby Lake Erie. Being hosts allows us to share this beautiful place with others, and it’s a joy to see guests experience the same peace and enjoyment we find here.

The west side of Kelleys Island is the perfect blend of serenity and accessibility. It's peaceful and quiet, offering the sense of luxury camping, yet it’s only a short distance from the lively action of downtown. We love the tranquility of the area, with the sounds of birds chirping and the occasional deer or fox crossing through the yard. The large yard is a great place for family activities, whether it’s playing catch, enjoying a picnic, or just relaxing under the trees. It’s a place that feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle while still being close enough to everything we love.

What makes our property unique is the perfect balance of charm, history, and modern comfort. We’ve worked hard to preserve the character of the space while ensuring it’s updated and comfortable for our guests. Our property is always super clean, and we’re proud to say that the beds are the most comfortable on the island—perfect for a restful night after a day of exploring. We’re also in a perfect location: far enough away from the Island's noise to maintain peace and quiet, but close enough to easily enjoy the action when you’re ready. It’s the best of both worlds!
