A small cozy cabin with a hot tub and a beautiful view of the Ozark mountains. We are located only 1 mile away from Missouri's Sam A. Baker State Park and an Ozark Trail Trailhead. And within an hour's drive of Taum Sauk state park (the tallest point in Missouri) and Elephant Rocks State Park.

Awesome relaxing stay
We had a little bit of a rough start. We arrived late around 7 PM and the owner of the property with you to Verbo so we do not have the code to get in. It took us about an hour before we got were able to get into the property. Then the rest our stay with total bliss. We hiked the the ot trail, and enjoyed a campfire. The hot tub was hot an awesome!

Excellent secluded get-a-way!
What a rare GEM in this VRBO property...all the amenities of having a lovely COZY CABIN roof over your head, but secluded enough to not hear a car or train or city noise AT ALL. I really enjoyed sitting on the front porch, with my coffee, hearing the breeze thru the trees and the ticking clock inside the cabin when the windows were open. I'm sure during normal "peak" season, it will have tons of hustle and bustle with summer activities, but having the 'whole place' all to ourselves over New Years was just what we needed to reconnect with each other, embrace the quiet, and enjoy mother nature at it's finest. BIG THANKS to Lesley for answering all my questions prior and after arrival. We will FOR SURE be visiting again soon!

In May of 2019, my husband and I had the opportunity to purchase Camp Cherokee Ridge in Wayne County, MO. The camp was owned by the Girl Scout Council of MO and had been in operation since 1960. This property has meant so much to many people over the years. We want to continue to provide guests the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and learn more about the Ozarks. We are blessed to live in the most beautiful part of the state and want to share that with others! The property is 1234 acres with two miles of the St. Francis River on one side, Sam A Baker on another; then across the county road, the property is bordered by Graves Mountain Conservation Area. This unique property has a horse arena, 14 horse stalls that have been updated with matting and are 10’x10’ fully enclosed and 10×12 gated to the outside. The property had a lot to offer when we purchased it but, we decided we wanted to add even more to it. Since May of 2019, we have remodeled the Lodge; this is an area that groups can gather and watch a movie, play ping pong, or relax in front of the fireplace and read a book. We have built over 8 miles of roads, and we brought in over 1100 tons of sand to build a swim beach for the lake. We have also added access to two separate gravel bars for swimming in the St. Francis River. We have added a gravel walk/bike path around the lake that is approximately 1 mile long. We have limited the light exposure at the campground to take full advantage of the sky at night. We are working to keep the lighting to a minimum so everyone here and the wildlife can still enjoy the park.

Our cabins are surrounded by the St. Francois Mountains, overlooking the 23 acres lake, and 2 miles of St. Francis river, all located on this private property. (I know St. Francois Mountains and St. Francis river are spelled differently) I have tried figuring that out for years and have no reasonable answer for you. :-) If you cannot find enough hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, kayaking/canoeing, and paddle boarding here then we are just one mile from Sam A Baker state park. We are also minutes from Clearwater Lake, Wappappello Lake, Black River, and the Current River. We love that we have such a unique outdoor adventure just a couple hours from St. Louis.
