Do you need a change in latitude or a change in attitude? Come drop your anchor here at this peaceful and centrally-located home. This home sits on 1/2 acre of land just over the bridge from Amelia Island - a wonderful escape for the entire family! In this great spot, you'll be less than 7 miles from both downtown Fernandina and the beaches! So put on your flip flops, grab a frozen concoction and enjoy!

Inside, you'll find an open kitchen to living room, with stainless steel appliances and eat-in dining room that seats 4- 8 if extended. Bamboo wood floors though-out home, except in kitchen, master bedroom and bathrooms which have tile. Master bedroom has a king bed and a walk-in closet, shower/no tub. 2 other rooms share the guest bathroom with shower & tub. 2nd bedroom has a queen bed. 3rd bedroom has a great triple bunkbed! Twin bed on top bunk, full size on bottom bunk, and a twin pull/rollout trundle. The FUN game room has a HUGE 65" TV, pool table, tiki toss, couch unfolds into a full size bed, closet full of games for entertainment, bar space for you to enjoy BYOB, and a JUMBO size bean bag chair! Enjoy free high-speed WiFi, Smart TVs in the living room and bedrooms, a private washer/dryer, workout space, home gym, and tanning bed available for use in the garage, A wonderful screened in gazebo with hot tub just off the back of the house that's perfect for relaxing.

Great house and location. Short drive to all the beaches, restaurants, etc . Home had everything we needed. Kids enjoyed the game room and outdoor space. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect for families

Had an amazing time visiting my son in the military. Took in the amazing sights and beautiful beaches. Safe town and surrounding communities. The house was amazing and had tons to do for all ages!! Will definitely stay again!!

Three generations staying at Salty Dog

Great central location for day trips to Amelia Island, Cumberland Island and Okefenokee Swamp. Older house but comfortable for a three generation family, with lots of entertainment for the teens while at the Salty Dog.

Wonderful time

The house was beautiful. We enjoyed our week stay and the kids loved the pool table and hot tub. Communication with the host was excellent and would highly recommend!!! The back yard is gorgeous and my daughter loved the tree swing. Would stay again! Beautiful home and so much too do!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

Perfect family getaway

Our family enjoyed this trip so much! The house came with every possible game or activity that all ages enjoyed. Close to beaches and state parks. Our host was very attentive and responded immediately. Great memories were made this weekend!!

a great stay!

Several family members stayed for 3 nights for a wedding on Amelia. (now that it's over, we wish we could stay longer and just relax - which we got to do once - in the hot tub which is very nice!) We had plenty of room and can't say enough about how clean it was, how easy communication and check-in was. Robby even worked with us on needing to check in early to make it to rehearsal on time and, when needing plumbing help (minor), we let him know and he came over and it was fixed within the hour!Kitchen very well-equipped, but, I was doing more prepping for a brunch than most people will be probably!-but couldn't find a cutting board - so grab one at the store! Plenty of blankets, games, even dog treats! We were very satisfied and impressed and would definitely stay again - Thanks, Robby!Kim and Steve and familiy from Raleigh N.C,

Good Dog

Stayed at the Salty Dog for a long weekend with family; 5 adults and 2 brand new infants. The house was spacious, comfortable, and felt homey. It has the look of a well-used vacation space; the knick-knacks, the wear on the cupboards, and the mismatched collection of cups and glasses reminds me of my own family cottage in Michigan. Zero issues getting in, getting settled, using all of the amenities, and enjoying the weekend. Thanks for being a great host Robby!

Disappointing

This property leaves a lot to be desired with upkeep and cleanliness. I don’t even know where to begin!!! The pictures of the property are deceiving. If we had not spent a small fortune already to book this place, we would have found something else and taken the loss! I have stayed at other pet friendly properties where you would never have known there was a pet on the property. This place smelled terribly of dog and dog hair was visible in all rooms. I had to wash bedding before we could even go to bed that evening after driving 11 hours. Not to mention, the beds only had a regular sheet with just a regular blanket thrown over it, No top sheet or comforter or quilt. I spent Sunday cleaning baseboards as the dog hair and dust was thick and creating issues with allergies for several in the group. I spent money to get cleaning supplies and air purifiers. Mouse turds were in utensil drawers and we were finding roaches as well. Even after cleaning, we were still finding dog hair in our food and clothing. The hot tub was not clean even though it had been turned on prior to our arrival, by Friday we could finally see to the bottom of it. The furniture was stained, pretty worn, and smelled of dog as well. We purchased throws to put over the furniture to help with that issue. I’ll just say that we were happy to be leaving and will never stay at this property again!!!

You won’t need to bring anything!!

We had a great week long stay. The owners basically have thought of everything! We chose this rental because we knew we would be staying around the house a lot due to the weather and they offered so much to do. Here are positives and negatives of our stay which we always offer up: Positives: So many extras! The hot-tub, pool table, foos-ball, board games, an AMAZING Pit Boss grill / smoker, the list goes on and on!!! The owner was very receptive when we reached out with a couple things we needed. They immediately responded and were very gracious! The rental was very clean! Tons of extra linens, sheets, blankets, pillows, etc… Negatives: The water- we know the water in that area smells bad but this was extra bad, not sure if a better filtration system would help, but super bad. Hot tub was almost unbearable. The backyard was fenced in and one of the main reasons we rented the unit as we had a dog, unfortunately, it’s overgrown with vegetation and lots of things a dog can get into such as stuff from a shed etc…so we had to leave ours on a chain. If you have a dog that you aren’t worried will get into that kind of stuff it won’t be an issue and the huge fenced backyard is perfect otherwise. The house is a little beat up inside but nothing that really bothered us too much. Overall.. if it wasn’t for the water smell, we would for sure be back!

Family Vacation

Our vacation was originally in Fort Myers. Due to hurricane Ian we were unable to visit. We contacted this property 3 days prior to our visit the response was very punctual. Robert made sure all our needs were taken care of. Great location, less than 10 minutes to the beach, and all the amenities were amazing. The property is beautiful and spacious. The game room is perfect for the family. If staying in this area I would highly recommend this location. We will be back

Family Stay for Wedding

From the start with no extra charges, to allowing us to checking early do me working from "home," Robert was an amazing host! They thought of everything you could possibly need, including phone chargers in the family room and Master Bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked and all the amazing little touches with towels in the hot tub area and many more that I can't even list them all. We love to travel, but this place has been our favorite so far. You will not be disappointed with your stay here.

Mini vacation

We had a great time here for a family weekend. The home was clean and comfortable with activities for all ages. It rained so we spent most of time in the house playing in the game room. Nice neighborhood and great location for shopping and dining. Short drive to the beach.

Amelia Island

Fantastic spot to stay in, will try to book this house again. Robert communicated with me prior to, during and after the stay to make sure our time at his property was perfect, and it was. Fenced in back yard really helped with our two pups, plenty of room for them to run and play. Look forward to renting this property again.

The neighbors are great, low key, and keep to them selves. We are right off the main A1A rd but hidden enough in for pure serenity! We are in a circle rd off the entering road, so great for walking or kids playing away from that main traffic. Close to non-busy railroad tracks if you like exploring and walking. Very secluded vibes with the massive beautiful oak trees canopying over the property.
