Come stay in this newly renovated home! Pet friendly with a fenced in yard and two car drive way for your convenience. Located 4 blocks from the center of Old Colorado City, and minutes from scenic Garden of the Gods! For your comfort this cottage has a double size bed, and queen sized hide away bed! Also, the kitchen is stocked a microwave, oven, fridge, along with necessary eating/cooking utensils. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are hard wired for your safety. I really wanted to enjoy staying at this property. The issues began when I pulled up to the house. The booking gave me one address and when I was almost there, the host told me I would be staying at the house next door. Red flag number one. We got in and the second issue was just in front of the front door. One of the steps was loose and being propped up with a cinder block. My pregnant wife almost tripped on it several times. As we walked in, we were greeted with AC that could barely keep the place cool, even though outside temps were not very hot. A huge gap under the front door didn't help. We wanted to help our dogs cool off but we couldn't give them ice cubes since the ice maker in the freezer was broken. The next morning, we were woken up to the sound of a crew ripping up the street right in front of the driveway. Not only was the noise disruptive to our relaxation, but we also lost use of our driveway. It stayed like this for the rest of our stay. Other more minor things annoyed us like beetles crawling around all over, a fussy door lock that took 5 tries to lock. All these issues combined made us decide to cut our stay at the property short. My wife called customer support 6 times to rectify this issue and only after 2 days were we able to be eligible for a partial refund and assistance with alternate accomodations.I cannot recommend this property to anyone. The neighborhood is great, but unfortunately that's the only thing great about it.

This location was very convenient for everything we needed to do! The binder the host left was amazing! They had all of the needed numbers and addresses for everything! Very thoughtful! Great place to stay!

Great location for walking to Old Colorado City. Host responded very quickly and reset modem for WiFi. Carpets were dirty and front door missing bottom sweep creating large opening at bottom.

Old Colorado City

Pros:*Exterior of house is beautiful! Retaining walls, steps, green space all look great.*Pet friendly*Proximity to lots of places - Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Cave of the Winds, etc.*Grill to use in the backyardCons:*Gaps in the door frames; this made my kids and me very uncomfortable. We were terrified snakes, rodents, bugs, etc. would come in.*Did not have necessary items; no salt/pepper (salt shaker present, but no salt in it, no pepper shaker), only one steak knife, no tongs or grilling tools (made it a challenge when we grilled out steaks), no hand towels in bathroom (only bath towels and fingertip towels), only one kitchen towel and no washcloths for kitchen sink.*Dishwasher is filthy; there was stuck on food particles through the whole machine. The dishes themselves were also dirty. We hand washed all of them before using. We ended up hand washing the ones we used before we left.*One couch in family area that is dingy and torn up.*One very small pub-like table; not enough space for eating as a family of 4.*Mattress in primary bedroom (front of house) is sagging to the middle. We are average sized adults, and we were literally pulling ourselves out of the middle of the bed every morning.Suggestions to owner:*Fix doors/door frames*Clean dishwasher or replace altogether*Put out a clean kitchen sponge every time you have new guests*Add more needed kitchen items (knife block, grilling tools, salt, pepper, etc.)*Add more towels (variety) in bath

Bad Communication with host

Contacted host after doing a walk though on Monday and they didn’t reply to my message; refrigerator ice maker wasn’t working/making ice, dishwasher also wasn’t working and filthy with food particles splashed all inside of it. No iron provided. Main door window and back window are all open, no privacy curtains up. Big open space at front door; the door frame needs fixing, also the back door. The bed should be replaced; sunken when laid on. Broken closet door in bedroom. Location was ideal for us. Exterior of house looks nice, but inside some things need attention before putting up for use. Host should be more attentive.

The location is great. The house was as described and the owners communication was great. The television is small and there is no outdoor seating. There’s a decent sized gap around the front door so bugs can crawl in. It’s good if you’re planning to be out most of the day. Owners were highly responsive to any needs we had.

Great pet friendly rental

The rental was nice- the check in was easy. Communication with the owners was easy. They fixed any issues we had. We purchased a shower mat and trash can for the bathroom since there was not ones there and the tub got very slick when wet. The dishwasher leaked when the sink was used, the owner was very helpful and tried to help fix it. He had a plumber out the next day. The yard is smaller than what it seems in the picture but it was great for our 12 week old puppy. Our only couple complaints are that the front door window does not have a curtain on it and it’s off a busy road, and the front and back door have gaps around the doorframe and door, the back door was very hard to get locked- one of the bedroom doors would not close due to the foundation not being even. But other than that it’s a great rental and we look forward to staying again next time we come to Colorado Springs

25th street home

nice little house --centrally located in Old Colorado City area--lots of places to eat and shops-- easy access to I25 which takes you anywhere fairly quickly-- tub drained slow and front door has to be locked to shut-- minor things, overall good place to stay--

nice little house--quick access to I25. has good a/c and heat and parking off street. nice back fenced yard for your pets. only two suggestions would be front door needs adjustment so it will shut w/out having to use deadbolt---tub slow to drain -
