Your home away from home is close to Meeks Bay, which has a terrific sandy beach. Located on National Forest Land, the Meeks Bay shoreline is popular for its beautiful scenery, sprawling clean beaches, and easy access. The area offers a high concentration of recreation opportunities including camping, swimming, biking, boating, and hiking into the nearby Desolation Wilderness.
Also nearby, Chambers Landing has a nice beach and a popular restaurant and bar (described below).
Ed Z’Berg – Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen, and juniper. Another attraction is the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion (also known as Pine Lodge), a summer home built-in 1903. Winter visitors to the park will find over 20 kilometers of marked cross country ski trails and a heated restroom in the General Creek campground.
D.L. Bliss State Park is open to vehicular traffic in the summer, where you can enjoy swimming or scuba diving in the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe, picnicking, relaxing on the warm sand of Lester Beach or Calawee Cove, and access to hiking the Rubicon Trail, Lighthouse Trail, and Balancing Rock Trail. Lester Beach is a popular location to launch your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe.
You won’t want to miss the icon of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay, a short drive away. Emerald Bay State Park boasts 360-degree picturesque views that encompass Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Eagle Falls, and Vikingsholm Castle.
Just a few miles down the road you’ll find Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley Ski Resorts. The Magical West Shore has great options for whatever you fancy: snowshoeing, snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing, sledding, and more!
Interested in a dining option? We highly recommend the Fire Sign Cafe for breakfast and lunch. The local market is convenient for a quick stop. Open in the summer, Chambers Landing is the oldest bar on Lake Tahoe. The menu features a wide variety of delicious items and a kid's menu is also available. A favorite family hot spot and accessible from land and by boat from the lake, Chambers Landing is known for its pristine views of Lake Tahoe.
To experience all the gambling and nightlife that the Lake Tahoe area offers, South Lake Tahoe/Stateline is about a 30-minute drive.
*** TRAVEL INSURANCE*** We highly recommend that all of our lovely guests purchase travel insurance as we normally do not refund for Covid, smoke, fires, weather, snow storms, road closures, etc.

This cabin is perfectly described tucked away in Tahoma away from the busy lights but close enough to trek to near by towns like Tahoe City. The backyard was great for our dog to sit out there and enjoy the sounds of nature. I would stay here again for sure.

Cute, clean & quiet
The neighborhood where the cabin is located feels like home. The neighbors are welcoming, and one of them even helped us when our dog got out.The location of the cabin was ideally close to trails and the Tahoma market an espresso shop and other small locally owned stores.

My husband and I spent five nights at the cabin in Tahoma. We had scheduled activities in both South Lake Tahoe and outside of Truckee so staying in the middle of the west coast was ideal. The proximity to Sugar Pine State Park gave us an ideal spot to launch our kayaks. The neighborhood was quiet and the Tahoma market was close so we could pick up needed items. We would love to be able to make this a regular destination!

Beautiful West Lake Tahoe getaway
The home was clean, comfortable and well stocked with basic necessities. The back yard was perfect for our family dog. Very nice neighborhood markets along the roadway along with the grocery store in Tahoe City.

Perfect location
The property is close to everything. We spent the mornings of our weekend stay at Meeks Bay for scuba diving activity. Found the perfect brunch spot: Cult Burger. The Where We Met coffee and ice cream place is a must visit when you're in the area. We tried 3 flavors and they are all good! In the afternoon, we drove up north to Homewood to check the area for the upcoming boat show in August and Tahoe City shopping and sightseeing. We bought wine and stuff for dinner at the nearby Market and Deli (they have good pizza, too!)

Everything was great except the kitchen is not that well stocked and the pull out sofa is the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on

Great location but a little dirty
We loved the location of this little house. It is on a quiet street but close to Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, and some great state parks. The kitchen was well equipped and the back yard was nice. However, the couch had stains on it as did the mattress pad. If there were a new couch and bedding we would stay here again.

The house was just perfect! I had my friend and her 2 kids for sat evening until Monday -nice to have a secure home with fence!
Everything inside house was great however sone difficulty with getting TV on as I am not used to set up !
Beds very comfortable ! Only sheet for couch torn and sliding security patio door off however my son put it back on! We talked with owner and it was taken care of immediately!

A good fit for us
We wanted to find a place that was close to hiking trails. We choose this place for 2 reasons. 1. It was in our price range 2. It was close to hiking trails and emerald bay. The place is 10-15 minutes from a number of different trails and to a fantastic 6 mile walk around Emerald Bay. It is 5 to 6 minutes away from a small but well stocked grocery store. We had all we needed as far as comfort and the right kitchen utensils to make dinner. Amy was very available and does a great job of providing a place for us to choose.
I love, love, love having choices as far as places to stay!
