Stunning luxury home with new outside sauna overlooking pristine Upper Eau Claire.

Great space for large gatherings of family and friends. Located directly on Upper Eau Claire, known for its spring fed, crystal clear water, great fishing, boating, swimming and lake fun. Minutes to ATV, snowmobile, cross country and Hiking Trails. A quiet exclusive location. Enjoy a stunning sunset, quiet bonfire, gourmet kitchen, outside sauna & changing room overlooking the lake, and lots of space.

A wonderful Retreat for family and friend gatherings or for remote work/ play getaway. Make memories with grand indoor and outdoor spaces. 5 bedrooms, 4 king beds, 2 Queen Beds, 2 Twin Bunk Beds and 4 baths provides everyone space. Large great room open from kitchen and dining room. Enjoy a roaring fire in the massive stone fireplace. Large outside sauna with changing room and spectacular views of the lake. Huge deck with stunning sunset views. Evening dinners in the screen porch or late night fun at the bonfire. Firewood provided!

The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with top of the line appliances and includes all the pots, pans, kitchen utensils and appliances you could want. It will be easy to create lavish family meals.

The walk out lower level rec room offers a separate place to gather and play games, enjoy a gas fireplace, high def TV, watch movies or play ping pong. Rain or shine there is plenty of space and activities.

There is a loft with a queen pull-out, an out of the way desk and work space. Lightening fast high speed internet access is available at up to 1 gig speed. The loft is great hide away to make that quick zoom meeting, get some work done or cozy up with a book.

5 large bedrooms. Main floor primary bedroom includes a large bath with walk-in shower. 4 of the 5 bedrooms offer king beds. Additional beds include 2 sets of bunk beds, a queen bed and a queen sleeper couch in the 6th bedroom loft. There are 4 separate baths, 3 each with showers along with an additional half bath.

The exquisite sand lakeshore is accessed by stairway of approximately 80 steps and offers a fantastic place for water play. We provide 4 single kayaks, a double kayak, 2 paddle boards, lily pad and loads of floaty toys. The dock offers a place to park your boat. We also have connections for boat and pontoon rentals.

We provide baby gates, high chairs, booster chairs, baby monitor, mini infant bath tub, etc in order to make this cabin the perfect place for multi-generation gatherings.

Beautiful home with stunning views. The amenities were endless. I have never stayed in a rental property that was stocked like this one. From top to bottom and everything in between, if you forgot something likely they would have you covered. The kitchen was stocked better than most private owned residences and everything was of high quality. The hosts were very easy to work with and wanted to make sure up front that we understood this property "is not suited for a rowdy guy's weekend" that level of concern for whom they rent to told me this house will not disappoint, and it did not. Todd and Mary thank you for renting us your home!!

Great accommodations for our whole family from across the country. May be the best VRBO we’ve ever had. Plenty of space. Beds were great. Everything is in excellent condition. This house is amazing. They thought of everything! Just bring some food, clothes and a swimsuit and you’re set! The beds are very comfortable and the hosts respond to any questions in a timely fashion. The lake area has a swim pad that our grandchildren love, there are paddleboards, kayaks etc for the guests’ use. We already made a reservation for next year, which will be our third time!

Upper Eau Claire Relaxation and Respite

Our high expectations were exceeded by the gorgeous, home, property and amenities. Todd and Mary provided everything we could have wanted and there was something for everyone in our family. We boated, kayaked, paddleboarded, swam (used the lily pad extensively), played outdoor games, sat by a beautiful blaze in the firepit, relaxed in the sauna, biked at nearby beautiful trails, golfed at a very pretty course in the area and more. The house was extremely well appointed for cooking and a wide range of family activities. Todd and Mary were very responsive to our few questions. It could not have been a better site or a more enjoyable vacation for all of us. Thanks.

Family Vacay 2025

I will say this was the most well stocked and organized VRBO that I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a lot. They also have so many extras so if you forget anything they are probably going to have it. The quality of the soaps, lotions, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner was excellent. You can literally just pack your clothes this house has it all. We did end up with a lot of rain and colder weather but we made the best of it. The owners have truly thought of everything. I would definitely rent again.

North woods lake trip

Our family vacation at this lake house was fantastic. The home is beautiful and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need/want. I recommend renting a boat from Bear Country Rentals. They dropped off and picked up the boat directly at the home’s dock. You won’t be disappointed renting this gorgeous home!

Spectacular Home and Location for Multi-Generation Vacation!

Three generations of our family, ages 16 - 86, spent a glorious week at Sunsets in the Pines. The home is clean, beautifully furnished, and well-appointed. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, eating on the screened in porch, making s'mores around the fire pit, and watching the incredible sunsets from the deck. The main floor en suite bedroom is perfect for anyone who has trouble with stairs and includes grab bars in the bathroom. Both upstairs bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The downstairs is the perfect space for teenagers to hang out and stay up late without disturbing the older folks. There are plenty of games, books, and puzzles in the house to keep everyone occupied. While the house is wonderful, the real highlight is its location on the crystal clear lake as we spent most of the trip swimming, boating, paddling, kayaking and relaxing on the dock. The 80 stairs up from the dock are a workout but they are well-built, lighted, and have landings where you can take a breather. They were too much for Grandma so we drove her over to the public boat launch and picked her up on our rented pontoon boat so she could enjoy the lake as well. The lake is so peaceful -- not too many boats or too much noise/activity. Todd and Mary were very responsive and have done a tremendous job outfitting their home for others to make memories in.

We made wonderful family memories!

Spectacular and more! All the superlatives that define the highest degree of quality definitely describe Sunset in the Pines. This includes nice quality kitchen dishes, silverware, pots and pans, appliances including a 6-burner stove and convection oven; well stocked paper products; beach equipment, toys, totes; both gas and charcoal grills; beautiful granite countertops, slate floors, pine walls and a vaulted ceiling. Spacious—not really a small cabin—definitely a picturesque north woods escape. Along with a family reunion for our children and grandchildren, my husband and I celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary. Yes, there are many steps down to the lake, but the elevation offers much privacy and beautiful views of sunsets from a very large deck with multiple Adirondack chairs. My husband (82) and I (80) weren’t bothered by the climb. The upper, middle and lower zones of the house afforded perfect areas for our families. There are two family rooms, and the teenagers loved playing ping pong on the lower level and having a walkout to go down to the beach. They kayaked all over and learned to stand up paddle board as well as fish and tube around the lake. We tied one of our boats to the dock and anchored the other one. I'm sure a warm fire in one of two fireplaces, snow on the pine boughs and hot chocolate would be just as nice as being there in the summer.

Beautiful Lake Home in North Woods

We loved our stay at Sunsets and Solitude on Upper Eau Claire lake. We were sad that there wasn’t much snow, so no skiing, but lots of hikes, games, and laughs. This home was beautiful and we really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and the view out the windows toward the lake. Kitchen was well stocked, house was very clean, and beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for our group to spread out. We would stay here again!

Absolutely perfect cabin

We had an absolutely wonderful week at the cabin. There was nothing that Todd and Mary didn’t think of or have available. It is by far the best vacation rental we have experienced. We commented daily on how clean and well stocked this cabin was for visitors. From the charging cords next to the beds to the wide array of water toys everything was perfect for our large group. Wonderful Cabin

This is a great cabin. We really enjoyed our stay. We had nine people ranging from 9 months to 72. The bedroom setups were great. Everyone had plenty of space and privacy. The kitchen was well stocked and lacked nothing. Communication with the owners was great. They were very quick to respond to questions. The lake is an amazing lake for kids and adults to swim in. The water is extremely clear and clean. There are no weeds and the water is shallow all around the dock. We also had plenty of room for docking boats. The provided lily pad really made the trip for the kids. The screen porch on the south side of the cabin was a great room that was used every day. It's a great spot at any time of day and was used for puzzles and there were lots of deer to be seen throughout the day from there. The one negative of the cabin is the hill down to the lake. There are 77 steps down a very steep hill to the lake. The stairs have recently been replaced and are in good shape, but it is a bear to walk up. It gets the heart pumping and the legs burning when walking up. I had a fishing boat and could tell from the pictures that I would need a lot of extension cord length to reach the cabin in order to charge my batteries. I brought three cords that totaled over 100 feet and it wasn't enough. Fortunately there were some extension cords left on shore that I was able to use to make the length. Overall, a really nice place.

Wonderful North Woods Getaway!

What a beautiful and cozy place to stay. We had a big multi generational family group and filled every room, but never felt too tight. There were so many things to do and see and places to relax. We really feel we experienced everything this home had to offer! It was perfectly appointed from the kitchen tools, house amenities in the bedrooms and bathrooms and perfect toys for the lake. They’ve thought of it all! We had an easy time renting a boat and getting it to the dock. Was the clearest lake we’ve seen in MN or WI. Didn’t catch a lot of fish, but had fun trying and saw amazing wildlife on the water and on the property. Beautiful lake views. We hope to come back next summer!

Mary & Todd have the best property in the area. It truly is a 5 star experience. The house was equipped with things beyond your need, and anything you name it pops up like a magic. down to bandaids. We were here for a family wedding so we were not able to enjoy the outside property but the lakeshore is beautiful and fire pit looks so fun! My kids loved the ping pong table in the basement! Would love to come back again and just relax, enjoy the deck, kayak and breath the northern WI air! Loved this place! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Phenomenal property - just as described. Todd and Mary were awesome communicators and provided many amenities that you don't normally get in a rental - we had kind of cold and rainy weather so didn't get to use a bunch of the lake toys, but we loved the gathering spaces to play games, and good size yard for bags and yard games in between the rainfalls. Oh and the views are amazing - really beautiful property.

Mary and I bought this property to create a gathering place for our kids and grandkids to savor the beauty of northern Wisconsin and make family memories. We instantly fell in love with the setting, view and clear spring fed lake. There were 5 loons just off the end of the dock the afternoon we first saw the property. The cabin was strikingly beautiful. Beyond what we had imagined. Grand two story great room with a dramatic stone wood burning fireplace. perfectly appointed kitchen with top of the line appliances. The enormous gathering space for friends and family was exactly what we wanted.

The bedroom layout offered the perfect sense of connectedness yet separate space. The main primary bedroom is on the main floor and features a wall of west facing sliding doors to the deck and a private 3/4 bath with huge walk-in shower. Two generously sized bedrooms upstairs with their own 3/4 bath. The lower level offers 2 more large bedrooms and another 3/4 bath.

The living space provides amazing opportunities for being together yet offers separate quiet space to get away. The second floor loft is a quiet nook for reading. The basement has a large family room with a stone gas fireplace and large screen TV. This has become a great space for late night movies and rainy days. This room walks out to a stone patio overlooking the lake. Our favorite spot is the screen porch just off the great room. The porch is vaulted and screened on three sides. It has been a spectacular place for our family to gather for meals. Wether the dewey smell of morning air or the warm evening breeze the screen porch has been a place that we linger from first light to long after the sun has set. The large deck is the other special place for our family. large enough for our entire gang.

This cabin was way beyond what we had dreamt of when we set out to find a family gathering place. It was very soon after we purchased this home that we decided to share it with others. We hope you enjoy as well.
