Steps from the beach with views of Campobello, Grand Manan, West Quoddy Head, and the Lubec Channel Light, this cozy cottage is a comfortable base for touring Down East Maine and the surrounding area.
We cooked and ate all of our meals here. We had everything we needed. It was very clean and comfortable We brought a dog who was both welcomed and happy here. We enjoyed the warm welcome of the town of Lubec Our host was easy to communicate with and responsive.
This was a wonderful vacation spot for me and my dog. Very serene and peaceful. Amazing tides and so many birds. Endless frisbee on beach. Easy hiking with million dollar views. So much protected lands and lovely trails it is hard to know where to explore next. Cottage is small with few frills yet we lacked nothing. Great WiFi etc. Incredible ocean views from everywhere inside. Lubec is tiny and very dog friendly. We even were invited into the restaurants. Big dark sky star gazing (OK maybe an occasional lighthouse blink).
High value accommodation right on the beach /coast south of Lubec, Me. Just north of Quoddy lighthouse state park. Well appointed furnishings , well stocked kitchen on a nice lot with four steps to beach from front yard. Excellent tidal flats for beach combing if that turns your crank. Close proximity to Lubec and other great sea coast hikes along highway 191. Canât get much closer to Canada! Michael (host) very responsive and helpful as needed. If Lubec area is in your travel plans, consider renting this place.
Coffee on the deck watching the tide come in and out, collecting sea glass on the quiet beach, reading in the cozy cottage, were just a few of the highlight of our stay. The cottage was well appointed, clean, convenient to wonderful hiking trails, and made for a wonderful vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this family loved cottage. Everything we needed was provided. The cottage had a well equipped kitchen, fans for hot days and heaters for cold days, puzzles, dvdâs and lots of books. The washer/dryer was a great bonus.
The view across the bay to Campobello was lovely. Access to the beach was easy and there was so much to explore. Walking the beach you find sea glass, and interesting shells and rocks, and sometimes a crab or a jellyfish left behind by the tide.
The cottage is just a short drive into town where you find stores, restaurants and even whale watching tours. Bring your passport and spend a day on Campobello or hike one of the many trails of Cobscook Shores. There is so much to do or just relax, sit at the cottage and watch the waves.
Patâs Place is the quintessential Maine family cottage! We hope to return again!
The area is wonderful, with many trails and outdoor places to explore. The cottage was not very well cared for, with buckling paneling, curling floor rugs that can trip you, a can of paint left out on the peeling porch along with a brush with paint dried in it. And this is minor, but we expected a drip coffee maker, but there was just a Kuerig. Still, the area is so great that we enjoyed our stay.
The private location and view are superb. The cottage is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return. Some more modern amenities like a dishwasher or a gas grill are not included. The beds were quite comfortable. In one bedroom their are twin beds and in the other there is a double bed. The cottage is well ventilated because all the windows open and have screens. There are also fans. If you are looking for a quiet private simple cottage with a great view this is the place for you.
