We had a wonderful stay! The unit was spacious, the bed comfortable, and it was a convenient location to all that we wanted to do on the island. It was great to have three pools and to be provided with beach gear. Communication with Destination Kauai was great! One improvement suggestion would be an updated sofa as it was not comfortable.

Our stay at Plantation Hale was great! The apartment is clean, roomy, and comfortable.The king-size bed was very comfortable and we slept great each night. It is close to a main road so there is some noise in the morning from traffic, but it’s not loud inside the apartment. Wailua/Kapa’a is a nice town with good places to eat, and it’s a great spot on the island that is a short drive to many nice beaches and hikes. We were able to see the entire island. It has a full kitchen and grill, but we didn’t ever cook because the island has so many great places to eat. The hosts were easy and helpful, and we would try to stay here again if we make it back to the beautiful island of Kauai!

You get what you pay for

Cheap listing, but a lot of stuff is broken. The light on the balcony was out and we couldn’t get the tv to work. You also had to pay for laundry. It was nice to have a kitchen and a balcony for sure. But will probably just pay up for a hotel next time.

A really great stay - very clean and simple with charm!

I usually stay in Poipu area but chose Kapaa this time for a couple reasons. First because I wanted to be closer to both north & south side. The location was perfect! To be completely honest I wasn’t enthusiastic at first sight when I saw the building or walked into the place because it had an older look and feel than I was used to renting. However, once I settled in I really began to appreciate everything about the place. Everything was very clean! During my stay it was quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The sofa could use an upgrade but still comfortable. The shower pressure wasn’t that strong but still enjoyable. And they provided soap & shampoo & conditioner. We used the kitchen for most of our meals. Thank goodness someone mentioned there were no cooking utensils so I brought my own. I’m not sure why they don’t provide anything to cook your food with like spatulas or tongs or soup spoons. Everything else was plenty in the kitchen. I truly appreciated the ice cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, and snorkel gear which we used each day. The air conditioner was a huge plus and I’m thankful that the unit had one. There was a laundry mat to use but you need to download an app. I couldn’t figure it out so I just didn’t use it. So there two things that I was surprised and wish I knew sooner. It’s a place for just 2 people at most. I went with my sister assuming I could sleep on the couch but no other linen was provided to sleep on the couch.

Great location

We loved the location - 3 minute walk from the beach and a 5 minute walk to Coconut Marketplace that has shopping (souvenirs and food) and a farmers market. The place had beach gear which was great! We had a question about the parking pass and got our question answered same day.

Wonderful location close to everything

This was my final stop on a three island hopping self tour and I absolutely nailed the location !!!! It was GREAT !!!! It is a very nice resort located close to the ocean. Our building backed right up to the highway but the street noise was totally manageable, especially with the AC unit running. This location is split between both sides of the island and that was really nice. It is also very close to the airport and car rental return. You have walking access to the beach as well as restaurants and shops and 5 minutes up the road is a shopping plaza with Ross, groceries and a hardware store. It is really a cool little town that starts just past the resort. This place is very quiet as people seem to be very respectful of each others spaces. It has the best King size bed ----- best bed I slept in while on this 2 week trip !!!! Loved the bed, LOL. Parking was easy and close and reserved. This VRBO felt more like a hotel room verses a condo. It did not have windows but has a GREAT lanai connecting the bedroom and living area. The AC inside this unit is shared between the huge bedroom and the living area and I was amazed at how well it cooled the space ---- both of them. So that giant bed with a nice cool AC made things great for me. I did not really visit any common areas at this property. The items inside the unit are very basic but you have what you need in a nice clean space. The entire property is keyless and the laundry rooms were spotless and I would rent this unit again.

Very enjoyable!

Very well situated property. Clean, spacious perfect for a family of 4. Very well equipped kitchen for those who like to cook. You will find everything you need for a nice vacation. One thing I would suggest to the management that instructions what is expected from tenants should be more specific to a particular apartment since some instructions don’t apply to an every apartment.Thank you

Good place, good amenities

Nice property with a convenient location, a bit dated and not super well maintained. But overall has good amenities and suited our needs wonderfully for a week-long trip. We'd consider staying there again if we were to return to the island.

What a gem

Clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Owner was quick to respond with any questions that came up. Conveniently located right next to the Longs drug store for anything you might need. I appreciated that it felt like the owner really cares about guests having a pleasant experience. Would absolutely rent this unit again and recommend it to family and friends.

Pros: - walking distance to food, shopping, grocery, beach, pool - A/C and overhead fans - Clean and good shower - Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, and hand soap were provided - 2 beach chairs to use - 4 beach towels - Almost a full kitchen - Cookware and utensils provided - Bath towels were soft and fluffy - King size memory foam bed - Spacious - Beautiful view from the lanai - Pool was clean and nice - Clean and safe area - Owners were very responsive Cons - Kitchen sink didn’t drain well and the garbage disposal didn’t work - Carpet in living room felt dirty - Bed sheets weren’t cooling or cold to the touch - Outdated couch, kitchen cabinets, carpet - Kitchen cabinets didn’t stay closed because the magnets moved - No variety in types of pillows (almost all were overstuffed) - No cover for pans - Non-stick coating on pans was scratched Overall, would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic time away and relaxing

Second time to Kauai - impressive! The place was exactly as advertised and even better. Had a little trouble with the lock the first night and the contact was spot on and helped right away. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with plates, etc. Coffee for the first day was appreciated. The supplies for the beach were generous and great.

Location of this property to tourist sites was ideal. Other than that, there is very little to recommend this property. In almost all the vacation rentals that I have stayed at throughout the years, I could imagine the owners actually living comfortably in the unit. Not so with this property. It is obviously managed with only-profit in mind. The overwhelming smell of 'Pinesol' disinfectant -- like a jock's lav -- upon entering the unit the first evening gave a hint of what was in store. I turned off the AC, opened all the windows & doors and left for the rest of the evening to clear the odor from the unit. This property is old with drab furnishing; cheap 'throw away' grade utensils; open kitchen trash bin; broken cabinet hinges; vent between living & bedroom to share the AC (no problem for me, as I prefer to use the overhead fans instead); and do/don't signs everywhere warning of penalty fees -- just unpleasant, not welcoming place. [To use the shared laundry W/D, you will need to download an app, so you may want to consider using the 'Laundromat Express' a block or two away] The location of this property is worth investing in a major make-over. Good luck!

K10 home away from home.

Having our own little home away from home was so very convenient during our stay. The location of Kaapa was perfect to be able to explore the island. The hale had many areas to walk to as others had mentioned. Coconut Grove. The walking trail near the beach. Hukilau. Johnny's. Long's. Safeway .Ross and Wailua shaved ice as well as other places to dine. Now back to K10. It was perfect handing amenities and space to be at home. It's obviously an older unit that has some slight wear, but it was clean and decent. The furnishings were good. The pool and jacuzzi was fine. We were able to use the BBQ in the shared grill. Our tomahawk and korean ribs turned out great! The kitchen amenities and linens were good,and we made ourselves at home.The bed WAS super comfortable. Having the beach chairs, the beach umbrella, and little cooler to use during our stay was a blessing to have. Overall we would definitely come back for the value and location.
