BELLA - Vacation Home & Ultimate HangOut Cave

For the benefit of future guests, we'd like to provide additional context regarding this stay. Unfortunately, the home's A/C experienced a sudden mechanical failure on the first day of this reservation. As soon as we were notified, we immediately arranged for an HVAC technician to inspect the system the following morning at the guest's request. The technician determined that the evaporator coil had failed and was leaking refrigerant. We were later informed that the replacement coil had been discontinued and that the entire system would need to be replaced—an unexpected equipment failure that could not have been anticipated. Throughout the process, we remained in constant communication with the guest. We offered the option to end the stay early while we worked with the booking platform regarding any available refund. The guest declined that option and informed us they would remain at the property, stating that the home had cooled overnight to approximately 74–75°F and that they planned to spend the hottest part of the day away from the house. In an effort to make things right, we also: * Sent portable A/C units to the property. * Offered a cash payment, restaurant gift cards, or a complimentary future stay as compensation. * Honored the guest's choice by sending the agreed-upon compensation. During our conversations, the guest expressed appreciation for our efforts and even stated, *"We're gonna find some stuff to do away from the house during the hot part of the day"* and *"I'm not going to complain online and do a petty crappy review."* We relied on those statements in good faith and continued working to make their stay as comfortable as possible. We fully understand how disappointing an unexpected A/C failure can be, and we sincerely regret that it occurred. However, we also believe future guests deserve to know that we responded immediately, offered multiple reasonable solutions, provided compensation, and did everything within our control to resolve an unforeseen mechanical failure.
