Beautiful newly refurbished large six bedroom house, located 8-10 mins walk from Killarney town center. Located in a quiet part of Killarney overlooking the Killarney Cathedral, Ross Castle and the Muckross area. This spacious house has two front facing balconies, with panoramic mountain and lake views.

Ad Astra House, formerly Northwood House, has a spacious kitchen, dining room, lounge and large entrance hallway. Each of the six bedrooms has its own en suite private bathroom. There are five bedrooms on the first floor of this house, while one bedroom is located on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms boast balconies with fantastic views of the beautiful McGillicuddy Reeks mountains.

Ad Astra house is in a very central location and is walking distance to all the amenities Killarney town has to offer. Ad Astra House is the ideal location for a large group to relax and enjoy the views from the house and its two balconies.

Great house and host. Worked well for our family. Each of us had our own space and bathroom. Plenty of parking. It was an easy walk to town. The only thing I would add is outdoor furniture. Good stay.

August 2024 family holiday

A beautiful spacious home in a stunning central location with unbelievable views and Killarney town centre only a short walk away. Patricks home was spotless and very well equipped, it had everything we needed and more for our family holiday. best we have ever stayed in. Patrick and Sarah were excellent hosts, we will definitely return and would highly recommend this property.

Just a great place

Place exactly matches the pictures. Short 10 min walk to the center of town. A rare find with 6 bedrooms all with attached bathrooms. Do not hesitate to book.

Great Trip to Killarney

This property was perfect for our trip. The house was very spacious, well-equipped, and it had everything we needed for the week. The bedrooms were comfortable and the covered sun room was perfect for our grandkids to play in. The neighborhood was quiet and a short walk/distance to downtown. Our Host Paddy checked in with us a couple of times to make sure our stay went well. We had no issues and would stay there again if we return.

Amazing location

We had a family heritage trail trip! Killarney was absolutely amazing ! The people are great, the city is great, their football was great, food was great! We could walk to the city center within 10-15 min. The walk was safe and easy! The view was amazing from the home. The taxi service we used was so accommodating and a wealth of information! Live, laugh, love and enjoy the food and beverages!

Clean, Comfortable, Awesome

We were two families with kids, and the whole property is a guesthouse, so bathrooms for all, and no shortage of amenities. The kitchen is not super stocked with cooking tools, but generally it was a perfect place for a large group. A heads up that the location is farther from town that it looks on a map, since it's a cul de sac with no footpath connecting it to the main drag, but it's a short enough walk that adults would not complain...kids complain about everything, so they don't count :-). Would highly recommend!

Family Tour

This house is set up as a B & B, not a family rental. Individual rooms with en suite; but no family bath. The only cooking utensils were from a grill set. Two small sauce pans, nothing to prepare or serve a family meal or even s salad. On the second and sixth mornings, there was no water. We were told to carry buckets up to the rooms to flush. We left a day early with no acknowledgment nor refund from the "host". We have rented homes all over the world-at least 20 of them through VRBO. We have been to Ireland many times; my wife and her Mom are Irish. We were a family group of 10 adults. I can say with some authority that this was substandard.

In relation to your complaint, the family bathroom, which contains a large bath/shower doubles as the en suite for bedroom 1, but can be accessed separately of the bedroom. We believe the kitchen is adequacy equipped with utensils for family cooking, however, we apologise that you did not think this to be the case. We are currently working on upgrading our kitchen utensils. Regarding the lack of water, which we did our utmost to resolve during your stay. We later came to find that there was a leak underground which was beyond our control that first presented itself during your stay. This leak has since been identified and repaired. Just beautiful

The house is exactly as pictured. It is Immaculate, comfortable and has stunning views, I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to town. The beds were very comfy, plenty of towels, kitchen has what you need, everything was on point. I would not hesitate to stay at this home again. I would recommend to anyone looking in Killarney. Paddy checked up on us from time to time to make sure everything was in order. He is a travel guide and gave us a recommendation and helped plan our day through the Gap of Dunloe. It was honestly the best thing we did all week and we wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for him. We had the best time staying here. I highly recommend!!
