Waltzing Matilda is the perfect destination at Deep Creek Lake!

This dog friendly home has a short path that leads to your treelined lakefront with a private dock. Spend sunny summer days swimming and fishing or take your boat out for a cruise. If you don't have one to bring, you can always rent one locally. In the evening, get together around the waterfront fire pit for s'mores.

You will love being within one mile from Deep Creek Lake State Park. It will be easy to enjoy the hiking trails, playgrounds, sandy beach, kayak and canoe rentals, and picnic areas. Plus, there is a nature center with hands-on exhibits for the kids.

Drive less than ten minutes to reach restaurants, shops, and the movie theater. Wisp Resort is only fifteen minutes away, and they have lots of year-round recreation. Golf, skiing, snow tubing, ziplines, and disc golf are just a few of the options. On top of the mountain, don't miss white water rafting thrills at the Adventure Sports Center!

The house is nice and the views are great. The beds definitely need an upgrade and the toilets clogged with just one person. Thankfully the maintenance guy came quickly.

Easily the worst and most dangerous house I've ever been in in my life. The heating grates built into the floor were over 150 and burned our child's feet badly. The hot tub was broken the entire time and no maintenance came to fix it. The entryways were both extremely dangerous and covered in ice. The microwave was broken. One of the beds was broken. Fireplace was installed improperly and is a huge fire hazard for which we have already contacted the local fire marshal to have the house inspected. Not only is it a terrible and poorly maintained home without any working amenities as described, it is a dangerous death trap.
Plastic bad melted into the grate located under the dining table. It burned our child's foot badly.
Incorrect stone and setting so this fireplace will melt the vinyl flooring and burn the house down if used. Fire Marshall contacted.

It was a very peaceful vacation. Great house in a great location. The only negative I have is beds could be more comfortable and there’s no fish in deer creek.

Almost Perfect...

The location and property was perfect for our needs, the walk to the lake was gradual and easy to access. Two things kept it from a 10 out of 10, the bathrooms and the sliding doors. We didn't even want to use the master shower, both needed a good deep clean and some upgrades. (Not much better then some state park showers). There were no screens on the sliding doors, so getting any air circulating in the main space was difficult, it would have been nice to keep the doors open. That all being said, it might not be the first choice to stay again, but I would and just be prepared with some shower shoes.

Air hockey/game table was miniature. Master bedroom tv not working but was replaced within 2 days. No screens on patio sliding doors. All window curtains need replacing for privacy. Bathrooms need some cosmetic maintenance. All thing considered it was ok for the price.

Cute lakefront location

First let me say the location was great. First time we stayed on this side of the lake and we loved the spot in the state park. The house itself was cute and clean. We had issues with things not working. TV in the master did not work, some lights did not work. The hot tub was not clean and did not work. I made these issues known to the woman that called me halfway during my stay and they offered to put in work orders, but this is my vacation. I don’t want bothered while I’m trying to enjoy what does work. Overall it was a cute place with a good location that could have been great had everything worked before my stay.

Beautiful house and excellent location

We were very comfortable and pleasantly surprised by the house. The location near the state park and right on the water was perfect. My wife and I, and both of our dogs, were very happy with our stay.

Cozy Lakeside Property

We came out from Baltimore for a long weekend in early December. We arrived to a blanket of snow and had a lovely weekend with our pups enjoying the lakeside view, hot tub, and serenity of the woods. It was just what we were looking for. The house was clean and cozy, and arrival and departure were quick and easy. We look forward to coming back.

Just what we needed!!

The Waltzing Matilda was just perfect!! It was so relaxing with the view of of Deep Creek Lake and fishing off of the dock. So nice it was pet friendly and we could bring our fur babies. Many thanks to the owner for opening up your home to us. We hope to be back.

Waltzing matilda

I usually never write a review but I was pretty disappointed with the property. The listing says theirs a pool table and table tennis the the pool table is only about 2 foot by 3 foot and the table tenmis sits on top of that. Theirs a few maintenance issues as well the lights along the trail to the dock do not work and the queen bed had a 2x4 propping it up which we didnt notice until the bed collapsed at 3 in the morning. With a little tlc I'm sure it could be a great property but it definitely needs some work.

The house has perfect views, roomy and close to restaurants. Love the games and puzzles the house provided . Nice updated kitchen . Would recommend rugs in bedrooms and updated bathrooms . Would definitely visit again . Hot tub wasn’t working but was refunded money .

Peaceful stay on the most amazing lot!

The most amazing view from beautiful windows! Clean, comfortable and pet friendly. The history of the property is touching and it felt meaningful to be s part of memories made at Waltzing Matilda. The amenities of the property were perfect. We enjoyed the fire pit, sitting on the dock and skipping rocks! The house had plenty!!! We will stay again and highly recommend!
