Private Garden Casita is located in the heart of Sellwood! Walk (3 blocks) to local hotspots, nightlife, restaurants, coffee, & boutique shops, from your beautifully appointed Queen Studio Suite. Relax, enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee in your private garden oasis. You will feel quite at home in this lovely, detached studio suite with a private entrance to both yard and studio. The owners have thought of every detail to provide a 5 Star experience to every guest!

This is a private detached studio suite with a private entrance into the yard AND the studio. You will enjoy privacy and serenity as there are no shared spaces. High ceilings featuring ceiling height windows and skylights allow for plenty of light and give a spacious feel to the small quarters.

You will enjoy the designer touches in this tastefully decorated studio featuring a comfortable queen sized bed, with quality linens and pillows.

Clean white bathroom with shower, quality linens, shampoo, conditioner, basic essentials and paper products provided for guest convenience. A hair dryer iron and ironing board complete the necessities.

There is an ample sized sink with a vanity in the studio area, a small fridge, coffee maker and microwave. A small table seats two or functions as a work space for a laptop. A wall mounted TV with Roku and smart capabilities, provided for those lazy nights watching movies or catching up on your favorite Netflix series.

Enjoy a glass of wine in your private yard/patio area. Nestled in the trees, a water fountain and light strands will take you to a tranquil place while enjoying a quiet evening or basking in the sunshine with your morning coffee. Complimentary coffee for your first morning will be available to help start your morning right!

You will find it hard to leave your little oasis in the city but the eclectic shops, eateries, and nightlife of historic Sellwood will be calling your name. 3 blocks in either direction will lead you to food, drink and shopping. The river and local parks are also within walking distance. Sit back, relax and enjoy your time at your private Sellwood Garden Casita!

FREE street parking. Well-kept property with easy access to all Portland has to offer.

Guest Access:
You will have access to the entire studio and the private outdoor space.The Sellwood Garden Casita has a separate gated entrance to the yard as well as a private entrance to the studio. The yard space is for your private use and is not shared with the owner. The owner yard is also private and is not included with the rental.

The Neighborhood:
The Sellwood District is a popular Southeast Portland neighborhood. Historic Sellwood-Moreland boasts an array of shops, vintage vendors and restaurants, as well as a rambling wildlife refuge — all just minutes from downtown. Sellwood is a popular destination neighborhood located in the City of Portland, situated on the east bank of the Willamette River near the southern tip of Ross Island. The house is located in the heart of everything and one could easily get by without a car and find tons to do within walking distance.

The neighborhood offers specialty retail, antiques, grocery and hardware stores, banks, dry cleaners as well as tons of restaurants and a seasonal farmers market are concentrated in two historic commercial districts.

Approximately two miles in length and a mile wide, the teardrop-shaped area is rich in natural and recreational amenities. This includes four public parks,Westmoreland, Sellwood, Sellwood Riverfront and Johnson Creek, hiking paths at the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, a public golf course, the Springwater Corridor bicycle/pedestrian- only thoroughfare and the city’s second oldest Parks & Recreation center.

Antique Lovers, take note. Sellwood is known for it’s antiquing! The peaceful, walkable retail stretches of the historic Sellwood-Moreland district are a throwback to the pre-Internet era of shopping, and pack enough surprises to turn anyone into a collector. A magnet for antique and collectible hunters, the neighborhood is home to vintage vendors who stock both mid-century treasures and flea-market finds.

Getting Around:
To have an authentic Portland experience, there is no need to leave the neighborhood. Shopping, dining and entertainment are abundant. This is very urban area convenient for walking, biking or using public transportation. Portland also has a wonderful Bike Share BIKETOWN located all over Portland Metro. There is FREE street parking on the side of the main house right by the gate to the studio. It would be easy to get by without a car as the neighborhood is walk-able and bike-able. Restaurants and all amenities within 3 blocks. Public transportation is safe and easy to use. Bicycles are east to rent through the Biketown program or local bicycle shops.

Other Things to Note:
Portland City Code requires that we keep a log with the Name, Address and Vehicle Information for ALL guests. This will be required before check in. If you are renting a vehicle, we will need the License Plate number or we will need to note alternate transportation (ie; air, train, bike) Please provide this information with your confirmed booking.

~You may be required to provide a photo of your Drivers License or Government ID directly to the host. This is for the safety and security of both guests & property Owners, and will be requested at the discretion of Stay in My District.
- No additional guests and visitors/guests that are not registered on the reservation booking are allowed to be on the property after 10pm.
- No PETS allowed at this property at any time.
- Smoking anywhere on the property will result in forfeiture of your entire deposit plus can result in additional fees up to $500 for smoke removal.
- Self Check In using keypad. Check-In is any time after 4:00 PM and Check-Out is by 11:00 AM.
- Housekeeping is required every 15 days and provided at an additional cost of $50 per cleaning. Basic cleaning including disinfecting kitchen and bathroom, change linens and clean floors. If you would like a mid stay cleaning on shorter stays this is an option as well.
- There is FREE street parking. You can also parallel park across the driveway. (not in driveway but parallel 😊)

Interaction with Guests:
I care for and manage the property for the owners. I am available via text, phone call or email. I live nearby and can be there is needed. The owners live in the front property but do not wish to be disturbed unless there is an emergency!

Lovely cottage in Sellwood

Everything went smoothly and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Communication with the host was great, check in was easy and we really enjoyed our stay. Everything felt safe (including on-street parking) and the neighborhood was sweet and walkable to nearby shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area!

This is a nice, clean place to stay. The shower is a bit small and it would've been nice to have a sink in the bathroom but given the size of the outbuilding, we understand why these are the way they are.
